  • Patent number: 9219586
Abstract: Provided is a radio communication device which can prevent interference between SRS and PUCCH when the PUCCH transmission bandwidth fluctuates and suppress degradation of CQI estimation accuracy by the band where no SRS is transmitted. The device includes: an SRS code generation unit (201) which generates an SRS (Sounding Reference Signal) for measuring uplink line data channel quality; an SRS arrangement unit (202) which frequency-multiplexes the SRS on the SR transmission band and arranges it; and an SRS arrangement control unit (208) which controls SRS frequency multiplex so as to be uniform in frequency without modifying the bandwidth of one SRS multiplex unit in accordance with the fluctuation of the reference signal transmission bandwidth according to the SRS arrangement information transmitted from the base station and furthermore controls the transmission interval of the frequency-multiplexed SRS.

  • Patent number: 9198147
Abstract: Disclosed herein are methods and systems that may help a WiMAX base station function without a GPS signal by providing a high-stability reference signal via a subcarrier of a broadcast signal, such as an FM radio signal. An exemplary broadcast station may therefore be configured to phase-lock a subcarrier signal to a GPS signal, and include this subcarrier in its broadcast signal, thereby providing the subcarrier signal for use by a base station as a high-stability reference signal for local-oscillator stabilization at the base station. The broadcast station may further modulate a timing signal onto the subcarrier signal. An exemplary base station may therefore receive the broadcast signal, decode the broadcast signal to acquire the subcarrier signal, and use the subcarrier signal to stabilize its local oscillator, rather than using a GPS signal.

  • Patent number: 9178797
Abstract: In general, techniques are described for selectively invoking graceful restart procedures when a route reflector member of a redundant route cluster fails. In one example, a method is provided that includes determining, by a provider edge router that supports graceful restart procedures, that a first router forms a redundant group with at least a second router. The method also includes detecting a failure of the first router and determining that at least the second router in the redundant group is operating approximately while the first router is failed. The method further includes overriding graceful restart procedures with respect to the failed first router when at least the second router is operating. The method also includes forwarding one or more data packets according to route information provided via the second router.

  • Patent number: 9143989
Abstract: An example apparatus is caused to receive a message inviting a user equipment (UE) to participate in an emergency communication session with an originating node, where the user equipment is registered with an Internet Protocol Multimedia Subsystem (IMS). The apparatus is caused to identify a type of registration of the UE with the IMS, and select a transfer function of the IMS to anchor the emergency communication session based on the identified type of registration of the user equipment with the IMS. The transfer function may be a domain transfer function or emergency access transfer function of the IMS. The apparatus is also caused to prepare the message for transmission to the selected transfer function to thereby enable the selected transfer function to anchor the emergency communication session and further communicate with one or more other components of the IMS to establish the emergency communication session with the user equipment.

  • Patent number: 9125188
Abstract: Embodiments contemplate enabling relay node uplink control information transmission on an interface between a relay node and a donor eNodeB (DeNB) in one or more subframes. Embodiments contemplate techniques to avoid restrictions on uplink transmissions on a cell (perhaps due to subframe configuration), such as on a primary cell, where the restrictions may make relay node uplink control information transmission difficult (if not impossible) on the interface between a relay node and a donor eNodeB (DeNB). Embodiments also contemplate that resources on the interface between the relay node and the donor eNodeB may be scheduled across one or more component carriers or serving cells.

  • Patent number: 9066244
Abstract: Techniques are provided to determine whether or not incident power at a wireless communication device in at least two frequency channels is from the same device. Incident power in frequency channels allocated to a basic service set in a wireless network is received at a plurality of antennas of the wireless communication device. Channel state information is computed for at least two frequency channels allocated to the basic service set. One or more metrics are generated based on the channel state information in the two frequency channels. The one or more metrics are evaluated to characterize an uplink signal bandwidth associated with the two channels to determine whether or not the incident power in the two channels is from the same device.

  • Patent number: 9055081
Abstract: Embodiments of the invention include a method for providing UE session resilience performed in a first PDN-GW that is coupled to a second PDN-GW, which are both in a PDN-GW pool. The method provides UE session resilience by allowing the first PDN-GW to provide connectivity for UE sessions previously serviced by the second PDN-GW after the second PDN-GW becomes non-operational. The first PDN-GW recognizes that the second PDN-GW failed and then activates a plurality of standby UE sessions. Each standby UE session is a backup UE session corresponding to a previously active UE session serviced on the second PDN-GW. Each standby UE session is associated with a UE device and a network resource identifier of an APN slice. The first PDN-GW transmits a message to a SGW that is servicing the UE sessions that indicates that the SGW should direct traffic previously bound for the second PDN-GW to the first PDN-GW.

  • Patent number: 9042260
Abstract: A path configuration message is sent to nodes in a multi-hop network along a path between a source node and destination nodes. The path configuration message includes path information and one or more special channel access parameters associated with the path information. The path configuration message temporarily changes the channel access priority for packets matching the path information in the special message. The nodes along the path therefore have higher channel access priority relative to other nearby nodes and other traffic flows. At the end of the a length of a time determined by a time to live parameter in the special message, the nodes resume using default channel access parameters in place of the special channel access parameters for packets matching the path information.
