Abstract: A method of handling long term evaluation positioning protocol (LPP) data for a communication device in a wireless communication system is disclosed. The method comprises setting that a first message of a non-access stratum (NAS) layer has higher transmission priority than a second message of a long term evaluation positioning protocol (LPP) layer.
Abstract: A method and apparatus for assigning the same sequence number (“SN”) to multiple messages using a global index pool and non-standard source ports (“NSPs”) are disclosed. After generating a global index pool containing multiple indexes, the process, in one embodiment, generates a set of NSPs for a network device. Upon creating a first SN for a general packet radio service tunneling protocol (“GTP”) message between peer-to-peer communications, the SN is stored in a first field of a first index. The process subsequently inserts a socket address used for indexing or addressing one of the NSPs in a second field of the first index.

Abstract: Methods, systems and apparatuses are provided for transmitting and receiving space-time block coded data in a wireless communications system with co-operative relays. A source node transmits RF signals representing first and second sets of data symbols in respective first and second channels (in time frequency code or any combination) of a wireless communications system, the first and second sets of data symbols being for transmission from separate antennas respectively according to a space-time block code. A relay node receives the RF signals representing the first set of data symbols in the first channel and transmits RF signals representing the first set of data symbols in the second channel. A destination node received the RF signals representing the second set of data symbols from the source node and the RF signals representing the first set of data symbols from the relay node.
Abstract: Disclosed is an apparatus that includes an ingress node configured to couple to an egress node and transmit a plurality of packets to one or more egress nodes, wherein at least some of the plurality of packets are cached before transmission and wherein the ingress node is further configured to retransmit a packet from the cached packets based on a request from one of the one or more egress nodes.
Abstract: Parameterized Quality of Service (QoS) may be provided. In response to receiving a registration request from a device, a determination of resource availability may be made. If resources are available to satisfy data flows to the device, a flow priority may be established and the device may be added to the priority queue configuration. If the device later requests establishment of a data flow, the data flow may be transmitted at the established flow priority.
Abstract: Techniques for using the network as a memory device are provided. Network packets continue to circulate on a network using the network communication channel as a memory device. Nodes of the network are configured to selectively copy, use, verify, modify, create, and purge the network packets using file management semantics.
Abstract: In at least one aspect, a system includes a wireless client and a server. The wireless client generates a congestion quality metric based on a number of packet transmission retries and a received signal strength. The server generates configuration data for configuring one or more transmission parameters of the wireless client based on the congestion quality metric, and the wireless client configures the one or more transmission parameters according to the configuration data.
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method and an apparatus that supports a multi-carrier wireless access system for transmitting and receiving system information. The 1st embodiment of the present invention is a method for controlling a center frequency in a wireless access system comprising the steps of: receiving a control message including a 1st parameter which indicates a configuration of carrier groups and a 2nd parameter which indicates whether the center frequency is controlled from a base station; deriving the center frequency of carriers allocated to a mobile terminal by using the 1st parameter; and controlling the center frequency by using the 2nd parameter.

Abstract: Aspects are described for reducing interference in wireless systems. In a first embodiment, an uplink acknowledgment region associated with a macro cell is determined, and an assignment of uplink control resources is restricted to a region within the uplink acknowledgment region. A control signal is then transmitted to user equipment via the assignment of uplink control resources. In another embodiment, control signals are received from wireless terminals, which include desired uplink control signals associated with an access point base station, as well as interfering uplink acknowledgement signals associated with macro cells. The control signals may then be regenerated by cancelling the set of interfering signals from the control signals. The desired uplink control signals are then decoded.
Abstract: Methods and apparatus for voice domain operation are described herein. One example method includes determining that an LTE network is not preferred for voice service provision; storing an identification of the LTE network that is not preferred for voice service provision; and accessing the stored identification of the LTE network that is not preferred for voice service provision.

Abstract: The present invention provides, according to one example, a method of route aggregation in a network. The network may include at least two switches connected by a link. The method includes the steps of arranging virtual connection identifiers (VCIs) into groups based on a common prefix. Each of the groups corresponds to an outgoing port of a next switch. The method further includes the steps of allocating a VCI at the incoming port of the next switch, and informing the outgoing port of the previous switch of the allocated VCI number. The step of arranging may include splitting all available VCIs into N subgroups, where N is the number of outgoing ports on the switch on the other end of the link.
Abstract: A method and an apparatus for multiplexing an antenna element, and an antenna component can reduce power loss caused by multiplexing of the antenna element. The apparatus includes an antenna element, a filter, and a DUP. The antenna element is connected to the filter and the DUP separately, and a suppression band of the filter includes a bandpass band of the DUP. The filter is configured to filter the signals sent by the antenna element and the DUP and/or the signals to be sent to the antenna element and the DUP to make signals of a first band pass through. The DUP is configured to filter the signals sent by the antenna element and the filter and/or the signals to be sent to the antenna element and the filter to make signals of a second band pass through.
Abstract: A data packet router enables a mobile communication device to access a WAN such as the Internet via a PC connected to the WAN. The router comprises bearer plug-in modules which each enable connection between the mobile communication device and the computer over a different bearer. The PC is therefore used as an internet access point for mobile communication devices which can use any conventional bearer to connect to the PC (USB, RS232, Bluetooth wireless etc.). Hence, a mobile telephone could gain web access using conventional WAP or, with the present invention, it could also be connected to a PC using a convenient bearer and hence gain access to the internet via the PC. Because the router uses bearer plug-in modules, it is possible to write new bearer modules as and when new bearers are developed and to readily add them to upgrade existing implementations. This is valuable since new connectivity standards (and enhancements to old standards) are continually under development.
Abstract: To set up connections via interconnections between different networks (1, 2) (2, 3), in first networks (1) e.g. public fixed networks (first step), first information is received defining at least first parts of the connections within the first networks (1). In response, (second step) second information is sent to second networks (2) e.g. public mobile networks defining the charging control of at least the interconnections to be performed outside the first networks (1) and defining at least second parts of the connections. In response, (third step) the second parts of the connections are set up within the second networks (2). The connections comprise the first parts, the interconnections and the second parts. This way, “call back” calls can be set up without “normal” calls needing to precede these “call back” calls.
Abstract: Transmitter(s) (34), radio base station nodes (38) comprising transmitter(s), and methods of operating transmitter(s)/radio base station(s) involve handling discontinuous transmission indication bits, particularly when transmitting using a 16 QAM signal point constellation having an I-branch and a Q-branch (for a quadruple of bits comprising two I-branch bits, i1 and i2, and two Q-branch bits q1 and q2). The transmitter(s) (34) and the radio base station nodes (28) comprised thereof are operated to perform a Multimedia Broadcast Multicast Service over Single Frequency Network (MBSFN) transmission wherein the MBSFN transmission comprises mapping data to a Secondary Common Control Physical Channel (SCCPCH).
Abstract: Described is a technology by which network connections are unified into a single user interface for user interaction with those networks. Upon receiving information identifying available networks that correspond to different types of media, a user interface component aggregates the available network connections and displays representations of the available network connections on the user interface. The result is a single user interface page on which the available networks are represented as available network connections that may correspond to destinations, for example by displaying a network name and/or a user-friendly name maintained in a network profile. Also displayable is connectivity status, security-related information, signal strength information for wireless network connections, and other information. The user may choose to show all available network connections, or only subset of the available network connections (e.g., only wireless, or only dial-up and VPN).
