Abstract: A transmitter apparatus can detect and transmit tire information, such as tire air pressure information, even when a puncture in the tire is repaired by a repairing agent. The transmitter apparatus includes a sensor detecting the state of gas in a tire cavity region as tire information; a transmitter transmitting the detected tire information; and a wall covering the sensor and transmitter. The wall forms an internal space divided from the tire cavity region and includes a communicating hole providing communication between the internal space and tire cavity region. An inside opening part of the hole in a housing surface facing the internal space has a greater opening area than an outside opening part of the hole in the housing surface facing the tire cavity region. A wall surface facing the communicating hole includes a recessed part recessed toward the housing surface including the outside opening part.
Abstract: An electrolytic gas sensor which is sensitive to a specific gas and has a working, reference and counter electrode is functionally monitored. A differential voltage between the reference and working electrodes is amplified and the potential of the counter electrode is regulated to minimize the differential voltage. Then a measured current flowing into the counter electrode approximately proportionally to the gas concentration of the gas to be detected arises. Independently of the determination of the gas concentration, a working, counter and reference voltage which is present at the three electrodes in each case is captured and monitored for an impermissible deviation. In an impermissible case an assigned error message is then output. Online monitoring of the gas sensor is thus possible and no interruption of the measurement operation for test purposes and additional components are required.
Abstract: A dispensing device is improved through the inclusion of modular components, for example, mechanical interfaces to couple to a container and a base. The modular dispensing device may also include communication systems related to the container and the base. Specifically, the modular dispensing device may receive information such as the contents of the container (e.g., quantity, identity, etc.) and a schedule for dispensing the contents. Using this information, the modular dispensing device may control the dispensing of the contents of the container.

Abstract: A system and method comprises a plurality of RF antennas having beams directed to a storage space in which medical items having RFID tags are stored. Each antenna is controlled to inject energy at a different frequency in a frequency-hopping set of frequencies to activate the tags. The return signal strength is monitored and for each tag that responds, the antenna location, frequency of the injected energy, identification response, and signal strength are stored as identification data. If a tag fails to respond in new scans, the antenna at which the tag last responded receives all the frequency-hopping frequencies in an attempt to locate the tag. If new tags are found, they are compared to a list of expected new medical items.
Abstract: A method and apparatus is provided for establishing the whereabouts of an asset being tracked while in the process of being transported to a given destination. This may optionally be accomplished by utilizing identification beacons in the form of RF or other wireless transmitters to establish to a tracking system that a given asset is being transported via the appropriate structure in a pre-established schedule. Further, by knowing in advance that a given structure will be used for transportation or temporary storage, sensing parameters of smart tracking devices may be adjusted to better accommodate customer alert situations.
Abstract: An article of clothing includes a sensor attached to a fabric body for detecting forces applied to the fabric body. A processor is attached to the fabric body and is communicatively coupled to the sensor. The processor receives signals from the sensor, analyzes the signals, and discerns therefrom whether a physical attack is occurring on a wearer of the fabric body. The processor emits a distress signal if it is discerned that an attack is occurring.
Abstract: A computing system is described that receives, at a particular time, notification data, the notification data indicating a threshold amount of time for which the computing system is to delay outputting an alert based on the notification data. The computing system initiates, based on the threshold amount of time, a deferred output of the alert based on the notification data. Responsive to determining that the threshold amount of time has elapsed since the particular time, the computing system outputs the alert based on the notification data.
