Abstract: In one implementation, an automated content compilation system includes a computing platform having a hardware processor and a system memory storing a content integration software code. The hardware processor executes the content integration software code to receive commercials for presentation with a media content including primary content segments and predetermined advertising intervals, and to assemble commercial clusters corresponding respectively to the predetermined advertising intervals, each of the commercial clusters including a subset of the commercials.

Abstract: A method and respective system for determining quality of experience parameters of an encrypted video stream received at a client device is provided. The method comprises extracting, from one or more encrypted video streams sent over a network from a content server to a plurality of client devices, a first instance of at least one stream-related feature. A first instance of at least one quality-related label of a plurality of quality-related labels is determined based on applying a trained classifier to the first instance of the at least one stream-related feature, wherein each of the plurality of quality-related labels corresponds to a respective experience parameter of the quality of experience parameters of the encrypted video stream received at the client device.

Abstract: Systems, apparatuses, and methods are described for determining boundaries within a content asset. A server may collect user interaction data for one or more content assets. Using the user interaction data, the server may determine commercial breaks or scene changes for the content asset. The server may apply best fit curves to the user interaction data, and determine commercial breaks or scene changes based on the best fit curves.

Abstract: A system that handles delivery of service(s) through a client device, includes an interactive service provider, a video service provider, and a client device. The interactive service provider inserts at least one of digital watermarks and digital fingerprints in non-programming media content. The video service provider transmits a media stream of the media content that includes programming media content and the non-programming media content. The client device detects at least one of the inserted digital watermarks and the digital fingerprints in the playback duration of the media content and renders overlay graphics on the media content. The client device activates at least one of input devices paired with the client device and the rendered overlay graphics. The client device further receives trigger responses over activated overlay graphics and displays an interactive view to enable delivery of service(s) in response to the trigger responses.

Abstract: A first sequence of video fingerprints at a first image repetition rate is compared with a second sequence of video fingerprints at a second, different image repetition rate. A converted sequence of fingerprints is generated from the first or second sequence of fingerprints by forming a combination of the values of a number of neighbouring fingerprints. The combination is a weighted average based on the temporal location of the respective neighbouring fingerprints in the first sequence of fingerprints with respect to the fingerprint in the converted sequence. A correlation is then performed between the converted sequence of fingerprints and the other sequence of fingerprints.

Abstract: Video content is uploaded via the Internet to a video-on-demand (VOD) server identified by a title and a hierarchical address of categories and subcategories for categorizing the title. The VOD server converts and stores the video content at a storage address in a video content database linked to the title. The title is listed in a location of an electronic program guide (EPG) using the same categories and subcategories as in its hierarchical address. Any TV subscriber can access the EPG and navigate through its categories and subcategories to find a title for viewing on the TV. This can enable many new blogging or podcasting-like programs by popular “Hosts” to be self-published on the Internet and readily navigated for display on TV. The EPG can also store TV program addresses as bookmarks and allow them to be shared with other subscribers or with friends and contacts online by sending to their email addresses.

Music can be arranged by merging any number of recorded tracks with live music and rerecorded or remixed, where control can be achieved in real time and in the further presence of video.

Abstract: A method includes receiving a broadcast signal including one or more signal frames; parsing the one or more signal frames including one or more service components in DASH (Dynamic Adaptive Streaming over HTTP) format, description information providing mapping between a service component and a DASH representation found in an MPD (Media Presentation Description), and a signaling table, the signaling table including a service identifier identifying the service and bootstrapping information to obtain the MPD and the description information, the description information including a transport session id representing a transport session carrying one or more service components, a DASH representation id representing a DASH representation corresponding to the one or more service components carried in the transport session and an IP address and port information of one or more IP packets that carry the transport session; and parsing the signaling table to obtain the description information and the MPD.

Abstract: Systems and methods of a media device are operable to perform a channel change operation. An exemplary embodiment receives a first data table from a data table server, wherein the first data table comprises first control information used to perform a channel change operation such that the media device reconfigures itself to change to a new channel from a currently presenting channel or to a new media content event from a currently presenting media content event. The exemplary embodiment later receives a second data table after initiation of the channel change operation, wherein the second data table is broadcast to the media device in one of a plurality of received broadcasting media content streams that has the new media content event, and wherein the second data table comprises second control information that corresponds to at least some of the first control information used to perform the channel change operation.

A media player client receives a request to transfer a media stream, which is playing on a first media device, to a second media device. In response to determining that the second media device comprises a larger screen than the first media device, the media player content determines, based on the genre and resolution of the media stream data, whether the media stream data can be transferred, from the first media device to the second media device.

Abstract: Devices and methods for routing content are provided herein. In some embodiments, a method for routing content include receiving audio data representing a command from a first electronic device, determining content that is associated with the command, sending responsive audio data to the first electronic device, and sending instructions to the second electronic device to output the content associated with the command. In some embodiments, a method for routing contents includes determining a state of the second electronic device and sending instructions to output the content to a selected one of the first and second electronic devices based on the state of the second electronic device.

The selected video segment may be presented at a first resolution via a display. A selection of a point in time during presentation of the video segment may be received to extract a frame set from the video segment at or near the selected point in time. The frame set may include multiple frames, including one frame corresponding to the selected point in time, and other frames that correspond to points in time adjacent to the selected point in time. A selection of a single frame within the frame set may be received. The single frame may be received having a second resolution. The second resolution may be higher than the first resolution. The single frame may be presented via the display.

Abstract: Systems and methods for providing playback of audio content during a trick-play mode in accordance with embodiments of the invention are disclosed. Media content can include audio content and video content. The audio content is divided into segments and the video content includes frames. Synchronization information associates a presentation time of each of the segments of the audio content with a presentation time of one or more frames associated with the images of the video content. When a trick-play mode is requested, the next frame from the video content to present is determined. The synchronization information is used to determine the segments of the audio content associated with the next frame. The determined segments audio content are presented as the frames are displayed in trick-play mode.
