  • Patent number: 10431258
Abstract: Apparatus and methods for combining metadata with video into a video stream using a 32-bit aligned payload, that is computer storage efficient and human discernable. The metadata is stored in a track in a self-describing structure. Metadata track may be decoded using an identifier reference table that is substantially smaller than typical fourCC identifier tables. The combined metadata/video stream is compatible with a standard video stream convention and may be played using conventional media player applications that reads media files compliant with MP4/MOV container format. The proposed format may enable decoding of metadata during streaming, partitioning of combined video stream without loss of metadata. The proposed format and/or metadata protocol provides for temporal synchronization of metadata with video frames.

  • Patent number: 10412368
Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention include multi-sensory stereo vision sensors suitable for use in robotics, navigation, machine vision, manufacturing, and other applications. In some cases, a sensor includes a stereo camera that produces image data for use in generating disparity maps to determine the positions of objects in the scene and/or the position of the sensor itself. The stereo sensor may include image sensors that are fastened to a unitary frame to prevent undesired drift and a thermal pad that wicks heat away from a processor. The processor may provide an efficient means to directly compute stereo disparity maps onboard the sensor. A sensor can also include a laser rangefinder that provides range data suitable for calibrating the stereo camera and for improving its accuracy in certain environments. In some cases, the laser is coupled to a spindle, which in turn is driven by a geartrain through a slipping clutch.

  • Patent number: 10356340
Abstract: Systems and methods for rendering video with teleprompter script overlays are described. A video rendering system provides a user interface for displaying a script for use during the rendering of the video (e.g., while the user records and/or streams the video). The script is arranged such that it at least partially overlays the video feed and is positioned within the display of the user interface to produce a line of sight of a user corresponding to first region of a field of view of the video capture device. When a user's line of sight is fixed upon the script overlay (i.e., when the user is reading the script) and aligned with the first region of the field of view of the video capture device, a viewer of the video rendering is given a visual perception that the user is looking directly at the viewer (e.g., making eye contact).
