  • Patent number: 5255439
Abstract: A spaghetti tool has a shaft that has a grippable portion and a base portion, which is located at a first end the shaft and from which protruding elements extend. In one embodiment, the shaft forms a substantially semi-cylindrical channel into which uncooked spaghetti can be laid. Markings on the inner wall of the shaft, corresponding to the height to which the uncooked spaghetti reaches in the channel, indicate the amount of spaghetti so that the correct amount of uncooked spaghetti can be measured out to yield a desired amount of cooked spaghetti. The markings can be letters or numbers to indicate either the number of portions or a numerical quantity corresponding, for example, to spaghetti weight. In another embodiment, the protruding elements are of substantially constant length and are arranged in parallel rows and/or columns with predetermined row/column separations.

  • Patent number: 5249363
Abstract: The invention is directed to a guide bar for guiding the saw chain of a motor-driven chain saw. The guide bar of the invention has a lamellar configuration and is not made of three parts as are conventional guide bars. Instead, the guide bar of the invention is made of two side parts. The two side parts are connected by means of spacers which are configured as projections on at least one of the two side parts. The side parts can be frames having large inner openings and are preferably stiffened. The connected frames define a composite frame which can be filled with plastic. The spacers determine the spacing of the side parts and therefore the width of the guide groove for the saw chain. The invention is also directed to a method of making the guide bar.

  • Patent number: 5243760
Abstract: A tube cutting tool is described in which a cutting head is rotatably mounted within a tool body wherein both define "O" shaped openings to enable tubing to be inserted perpendicularly through the tool. A cutting wheel is incorporated into the cutting head such that rotation of the cutting head causes the wheel to pass around the periphery of the tube. A feed cam and lever device are incorporated which mechanically bias the cutting wheel into contact with the tube wall until the tube wall has been completely severed. A gear drive assembly transports power from a power source to the cutting head to rotate it about the tube. Stabilizing devices are utilized to help secure and align the tubing into the cutting tool during operation.

  • Patent number: 5241751
Abstract: A wet blade razor includes improved means for removing shaving matter and drying the blades, comprising a device for completely removing shaving matter from between the double overlapping blades of the razor by incorporation of a piston therein. The piston includes a one way valve which permits air to be drawn through ducts formed in the piston. The air ducts enable the razor to use air pressure forced out of a plurality of air spray holes to create a plurality of bubbles in the water when the razor is immersed in water. The bubbles are forced against the shaving matter to dislodge shaving matter from the blade assembly.

  • Patent number: 5237751
Abstract: Apparatus for tipping a horn of a horned animal by removing a selected portion thereof. A positioning member having an aperture which extends between first and second side surfaces thereof is pivotally mounted to a cutting member having a cutting edge formed along a first side surface thereof. The aperture is defined by an inner side surface of the positioning member which includes a first, inwardly tapered, portion and a second, untapered, portion. When the positioning member is placed over the horn, first and second edge surfaces which define first and second boundaries of the inwardly tapered portion circumferentially bite into the horn at first and second locations, respectively. The cutting member is then pivoted towards the positioning member to sever the selected portion of the horn. The cutting member is comprised of a support member having a cut-away portion and a blade member flush mounted in the cut-away portion of the support member.

  • Patent number: 5237752
Abstract: A safer and easier control of power to the chain by means of a hinged or flexible handle that is pressed or rotated in the direction of cut in order to drive the chain, and is released or rotated away from the direction of cut to stop the chain. This method of stopping the chain is of critical importance when a chainsaw is dropped by the supporting hand, because power to the chain is automatically stopped by the control-handle in the other hand, thereby much reducing the danger of injury or damage.
