  • Patent number: 10104801
Abstract: A power switching system, a method, and an information handling system (IHS) enables selective activation and de-activation of respective alternating current (AC) outlets of a plurality of AC outlets within an AC switch (ACS). The AC switch includes a decoder circuit that is couple via a control interface to a management controller (MC) and receives control commands from the control interface. In response to receipt of the control command, the decoder circuit decodes the command in order to provide control signals to one or more of a number of serial voltage relays, which are each respectively coupled to the AC outlets. The AC switch utilizes the decoder circuit to respectively configure the serial voltage relays using the control signals. By configuring the serial voltage relays, the MC provides and/or removes respective connections between AC inputs and AC outlets, which selectively activates and/or de-activates respective AC outlets.

  • Patent number: 10073434
Abstract: An automated manufacturing system includes two simultaneous and independently operating toolheads accessing any location within the same work volume, with the exception of locations in proximity to each other. The system includes a bed platform connected with X and Y linear axes. A ? rotational axis rotates the bed and its linear axes as a unit. A first toolhead has a fixed position relative to the ? axis, and a second toolhead is coupled with a linear R axis parallel to the bed. The bed X and Y axes move the bed relative to the first toolhead, enabling the first toolhead to reach any portion of the bed. The R linear axis and ? rotational axis allow the second toolhead to move almost anywhere in a circular area that is always centered near the first toolhead. The system's kinematics ensure that it is impossible for the toolheads to collide.

  • Patent number: 10061595
Abstract: Fast computer startup is provided by, upon receipt of a shutdown command, recording state information representing a target state. In this target state, the computing device may have closed all user sessions, such that no user state information is included in the target state. However, the operating system may still be executing. In response to a command to startup the computer, this target state may be quickly reestablished from the recorded target state information. Portions of a startup sequence may be performed to complete the startup process, including establishing user state. To protect user expectations despite changes in response to a shutdown command, creation and use of the file holding the recorded state information may be conditional on dynamically determined events. Also, user and programmatic interfaces may provide options to override creation or use of the recorded state information.

  • Patent number: 10048662
Abstract: A system and method for incorporating occupancy-detecting technology into furniture is provided. More particularly, the invention relates to detecting occupancy using a detection pad coupled a portion of a bed. The detection pad may include an aluminized polymer material, a metalized and/or conductive fabric, an aluminum sheet, a metal screen, an aluminum tape, a wire grid, or other metalized material or fabric. A controller determines the corresponding response based on single-occupancy or dual-occupancy detection by one or more detection pads. A processor receives information regarding changes in capacitance and determines when a change in voltage satisfies a threshold. Based on a determination of occupancy, or lack thereof, a variety of corresponding features of the adjustable bed may be activated.
