Abstract: A method for determining latitude and longitude coordinates for geographic addresses input into an address book on a mobile device is provided. For each geographic address received for storing in a contact record, latitude and longitude coordinates are automatically determined and associated with the geographic address in a database of contact records. In some embodiments, for each geographic address to be input, the method first searches existing contact records for the geographic address and if the latitude and longitude coordinates for the geographic address are in an existing contact record, the contact record for the contact is cross-referenced to the existing record for accessing the latitude and longitude coordinates.

Abstract: The invention is a system for selecting and previewing a configuration for a wall module before a download of the configuration to the wall module. The configuration may be selected from a set of standard applications or it may be a customized standard application. The configuration may instead be a new application. The configuration may be changed, such as screen segment selection, during a preview of it. A memory usage meter may indicate how much memory is used relative to the amount available in the wall module for the configuration. Also the system may have an autobind to a controller feature for time parameters. New application or customized standard application configurations may be saved to a library for future use.

Abstract: A method of presenting a web page is described which incorporates navigation techniques and tools to allow impaired users to navigate throughout a web page in a convenient and geographically intuitive manner. Elements are sampled for in a region located in a user-specified direction, and a UI tool is presented for a detected element. Elements that are “hit” during sampling may be tested for materiality, and the material element with precedence will become the detected element.

Abstract: Various systems and methods are provided that allow reviewers to quickly save, identify, retrieve, and share communications. For example, systems and methods described herein may allow a reviewer to store at least a portion of a communication, called a snippet, in a postboard. For example, a reviewer can highlight a portion of the content of a communication. Once the portion is highlighted, the reviewer can select a snippet command, which stores the highlighted portion in the postboard. Each snippet stored in a postboard includes at least a portion of the content that was highlighted and a link to the communication from which the snippet originates.

Abstract: A method for displaying a relational diagram on a screen where at least one view of the relational diagram is larger than an available viewing area provided by the screen. The method comprises steps of detecting a predetermined action performed on a first element of the relational diagram, determining one or more relevant elements associated with the first element, and modifying a view of the relational diagram to display the first element and the one or more relevant elements on the screen.

Abstract: Identifying a set of information sources from a plurality of N diverse information sources, then, responsive to user input, retrieving a first set of data items from a first information source after determining a first extent of information retrieval, and retrieving a second set of data items from the second information source after determining a second extent of information retrieval and so on for all of the N diverse information sources. The extents of the retrieval comprise at most a number of data items specified by a user (e.g., corresponding to a page size). The method continues by sorting all of the N set of data items fetched from the diverse sources in Round Robin fashion until at least a specific number of elements are merged for generating a paged, sorted set of data items to be displayed in a paginated format.

Abstract: An email system that enables users to request for and receive recommended messages which are relevant and contextually related to a received message via activation of a user interface element is disclosed. When a message is received, it is analyzed and keywords relevant to the received message along with named entities comprised in the received message are retrieved and stored. Upon activation of a user interface element, the relevant keywords are employed to retrieve other similar messages which are grouped into clusters. The clusters are further ranked based on their relevance to the received message and the top ranked messages from the most relevant cluster are selected for display to the user as the messages that are contextually relevant to the received message. The email system also facilitates execution of batch operations on the contextually relevant messages.

Abstract: A user terminal apparatus is provided. The user terminal apparatus includes: a display which displays a map indicating a location of the user terminal apparatus and a location of one other user terminal apparatus, a communicator which receives a message which is input through the one other user terminal apparatus, and a controller which, when the message is received, controls to display the message on a region corresponding to the location of the one other user terminal apparatus on the map.

Abstract: Techniques for automated graphical user interface (GUI) creation and/or rendering are provided. Establishments are defined via items for sale and rules defining workflow processing for purchasing the items. Each establishment representing a sub hierarchy. A GUI is rendered to represent a custom hierarchy of the sub hierarchies and presented to a user. The user interacts with the GUI to select a specific establishment and perform a specific transaction with that establishment in accordance with that establishment's items for sale and rules.

Abstract: An object of the present invention is to provide a device, a method, and a computer-readable recording medium, all of which reduce the processing load when a document is opened, and improve the operability for editing a document. A smartphone includes a touch-screen display and a controller. The controller displays a virtual keyboard and a document area which displayed an editing document inputted via the virtual keyboard, on the touch-screen display. The controller maintains displaying of the virtual keyboard while switching the editing document over from a first document to the second document, in a case in which a touch operation to switch the editing document over from the first document to the second document is performed.

Abstract: Mechanisms are described for providing visual representations of metadata so as to allow for an easier, more intuitive, and more entertaining way for a user to manage metadata by allowing a user to execute operations relating to the metadata through interactions with the visual representations of that metadata. A user can further define visual objects and use such objects for searching media content items, such as by using a visual representation of metadata as a filter and displaying graphical depictions of associations between the visual representations of metadata and the associated media content item. Moreover, operations executed on the visual representations, such as copying, pasting, and modifying the visual representations, are translated to actions on the metadata itself and can be applied across different devices, as well as different media content items and groups of media content items.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for displaying navigation objects for managing operations of a vehicle. A number of navigation objects for managing the operations of the vehicle is displayed in a graphical user interface to form a display of the number of navigation objects. Responsive to a user input to the number of navigation objects, the display of the number of navigation objects in the graphical user interface is changed to include one or more navigation objects identified based on the user input. The navigation objects in the number of navigation objects have a number of associations with each other. The display of the number of navigation objects includes a number of graphical indicators providing a visualization of the number of associations for the number of navigation objects.
