  • Patent number: 5252035
Abstract: A suction structure for electrically-driven hermetic compressor. The compressor comprises a suction muffler having an upper outlet and a lower inlet which is formed at its bottom with means for discharging refrigerating oil, first elastic means for adsorbing vibration occurring during operation of compressor and guiding suction gas into the suction muffler which is fitted in the lower inlet of the suction muffler, second elastic means for fixing the first elastic means to the inlet of the suction muffler which is interposed between the inlet and the first elastic means without a gap therebetween, and filtering means for preventing refrigerating oil from being introduced into a cylinder which is disposed to the inlet of the suction muffler. Therefore, the suction structure can prevent refrigerating oil from being introduced in the cylinder and also prevent damage and generation of the inlet of the suction muffler due to interference therebetween is prevented, thereby improving performance of compressor.

  • Patent number: 5251537
Abstract: A hydraulic driving system uses a variable capacity type swash plate piston pump that discharges a fixed quantity of operation oil. The piston pump is provided with a swash plate and a swash-plate tilt angle control mechanism. The pump is operated by the engine to drawing discharge oil whose quantity corresponds to the tilt angle of the swash plate. An oil passage provided with a restriction, is connected to the discharge side of the piston pump. A control valve functions in accordance with the pressure difference between the input and output sides of that restriction to feed operation oil to the tilt angle control mechanism via the oil passage. A tilt angle generating mechanism in the tilt angle control mechanism, causes the oil controlled by the control valve to act on the swash plate in order to increase its tilt angle. A tilt angle return mechanism in the tilt angle control mechanism urges the swash plate to decrease the tilt angle.

  • Patent number: 5252032
Abstract: A variable capacity swash plate type compressor having compression chambers formed on one side of the plungers only, and control chambers for controlling the capacity of the compressor provided on the other side of the plungers. The capacity of the compressor is controlled by adjusting the pressure in the control chambers, whereby the inclination of the swash plate is changed because the force exerted on the plunger by the pressure in the control chamber, i.e., the force moving the swash plate, is changed. Therefore, since the volume of the compression chambers is relatively small, and a higher control pressure can be used, the response and the stability of the capacity control is improved.

  • Patent number: 5251536
Abstract: Variable displacement axial piston pumps are useful in outputting pressurized fluid to operate fluid actuators. The currently available center pivoted variable displacement axial piston pumps waste energy by compressing trapped volumes of oil during operation. The present variable displacement axial piston pump has first and second opposite sides of a swash plate pivotally connected to a pump housing by a pair of off-center pivots with the angle of the swash plate being controlled by first and second actuators connected to the opposite sides of the swash plate. Each of the off-center pivots includes a pair of pivot pins connected to the housing and releasably pivotally seated in a pair of semi-cylindrical pockets formed in the opposite sides of the swash plate. The first actuator at the first side of the swash plate holds the semi-cylindrical pocket seated against the pivot pin while the second actuator controls pivotal movement of the swash plate about the first off-center pivot.

  • Patent number: 5249933
Abstract: A submarine is equipped with a conventional main hydraulic system and has least one hydraulic actuator located outside the vessel's pressurized hull where it is susceptible to contamination of its hydraulic fluid. The actuator is operated from an isolation system that includes a slave piston driven by a power piston from the main hydraulic system to keep a desired pressure in the secondary system by operating the power piston only as required for this purpose. Both power and slave piston positions are related and a two position limit switch is tripped by switch actuators linked to these pistons for operating the power and slave pistons. This isolation system prevents any contaminants in the external system from contaminating the internal system.

  • Patent number: 5249932
Abstract: A diaphragm metering pump having control over diaphragm extension is described. A position sensor is incorporated in a diaphragm metering pump to indicate the relative position of the diaphragm during flexure. When excessive extension of the diaphragm is sensed by the position sensor, a control valve will provide hydraulic fluid from a reservoir for inhibiting further deflection of the diaphragm in the direction in which it was moving. Diaphragm life is extended as well as the accuracy of metering provided by the pump maintained.

  • Patent number: 5246350
Abstract: A high efficiency solar powered water pumping system (10) includes a solar collector (12) for heating and vaporizing a working fluid. The vaporized working fluid is passed to a motor and valve assembly (20) that alternatively delivers the working fluid to a power unit (22) and exhausts the working fluid from the power unit to a condenser (32). The power unit has a driving member (128) that moves up and down driving a sucker rod (194) of a sucker rod assembly (26) which raises water from a well in the earth. The water pumped from the ground passes through a tube (36) in the condenser. The working fluid which has been exhausted from the power unit into the condenser, condenses to a liquid. The liquid working fluid is then pumped from the condenser by a positive displacement pump (40) and is returned to the solar collector to repeat the cycle.

  • Patent number: 5242279
Abstract: A pump hose for a peristaltic pump has a suction-side end and a pressure-side end. Each end is provided with a bushing integrally connected thereto and adapted for suspending attachment to the peristaltic pump by holding members.
