  • Patent number: 8751375
Abstract: Event processing for suspicious activity detection is disclosed. Financial events can be detected by receiving data from a plurality of detection channels. The data can optionally be enriched by adding additional details about events. An event or group of events is scored based on pre-defined risk factors and experience, and the resulting score can be compared to a pre-defined threshold. A case for investigation is established when the score is above the pre-defined threshold. Events for which the score is below the pre-defined threshold are sampled to provide the experience for the scoring. Events can be scored by obtaining a plurality of predictors, collecting training data regarding existing cases, and running a logistic regression to obtain weights for the predictors. The likelihood of a case for investigation resulting in a suspicious activity report can then be determined.

  • Patent number: 8738495
Abstract: This invention relates to an apparatus for managing personal accounts. The apparatus comprises a database (C), a database-updating section (D). The a database (C) stores at least personal IDs allocated to individuals, respectively, payment data associated with each personal ID, receipt data associated with each personal ID, and rank data associated with each personal ID. The database-updating section (D) determines a rank for each personal ID, from the payment data and the receipt data, and records the rank as the rank data. The apparatus reliably determines the state of the financial transaction of each client, i.e., the receipt data and payment data about the transaction, correctly evaluates the contribution of the client, and provides special services to the client, by setting interests and charges that are as favorable as possible to the client.

  • Patent number: 8706612
Abstract: A system and method are provided for displaying information related to a plurality of tradeable objects using a single graphical interface. One example graphical interface includes at least two screen regions displayed in relation to each other, with each region including a plurality of locations. Each location in the first screen region corresponds to a value along a first value axis, and each location in the second screen region corresponds to a value along a second value axis. The graphical interface also includes a first indicator in the first region and a second indicator in the second region. In response to a repositioning command based on an algorithm, the graphical interface includes a repositioned first value axis and the second value axis, such that the indicators are displayed in new locations determined based on the algorithm.

  • Patent number: 8694413
Abstract: Computer-based systems and methods that determine interest profiles of contacts of work product. The contact interest profiles may indicate the contacts' interests in particular topics of research work product and/or analyst teams within the research department that produced the research work product. The contacts' interest profiles may be determined based on research work product accessed by the contacts according to topic and/or analyst team that produced the research work product, the interaction of the contacts with the research department, and any other reliable information indicative of the contacts' topic and/or team interests. Also, research work product items produced by the entity may be rated for each contact based on, for example, the topic(s) of the research work product items and the analyst teams that produced the research work product items, as well as the contacts' topic and/or analyst team interests.

  • Patent number: 8671044
Abstract: The invention relates to systems and methods that provide a user interface for use with an electronic trading system. The interface displays a bid price axis and an ask price axis, as well as corresponding sizes, and an indication of the inside market. When the inside market changes in response to changing market conditions, the indication of the inside market changes locations before being restored to its original location by shifting the bid and ask prices in a direction parallel to the bid or ask price axis. The user may enter trade commands at different price levels using an input device. In order to help prevent such trade commands from being entered at erroneous price levels, the system locks a pointer associated with the input device to a price the user points to during the shifting process, unless the pointer is moved away from that price.

  • Patent number: 8666878
Abstract: In automated exchange system, a matching unit is supplemented with a calculation unit and a global memory accessible by both the calculation unit and the matching unit. This computer architecture makes it possible to perform some of the calculations related to the volume and/or prices of the baits needed in the matching to be performed in advance. The matching process uses the values resulting from the pre-calculation when needed, and since no or few calculations are done in the matching unit, the process of matching combination contracts can be performed at a higher rate, thereby significantly improving the performance of the matching process. The provision of one or several calculation units makes it possible to perform very complex calculations since many calculations need not be performed in real time.

  • Patent number: 8645249
Abstract: Systems, methods and computer program products are provided for modeling future benefits. According to the method, modeling future benefits begins by defining a growth rate for the good for each time segment of a period of time, where the period of time includes a plurality of time segments. An uncertainty for the good is then determined for each time segment. Next, a benefit distribution is determined for each time segment based upon the growth rate and uncertainty for the respective time segment. Finally, a benefit value is selected for each time segment by randomly selecting each benefit value based upon a respective benefit distribution to thereby model future benefits over the period of time.
