    Abstract: Process for the preparation of nitride complexes of transition metals for use as radiopharmaceutical products or for the synthesis of novel pharmaceutical products. The process consists in reacting an oxygenic transition metal compound such as 99m.sub.Tc, 186.sub.Re or 188.sub.Re, with a first nitrogenous ligand such as sodium nitride or a nitrogenous compound such as S-methyl, N-methyl dithiocarbazate, and a reducing agent consisting of either tin (II) or a dithionite. The product so obtained can be used for the preparation of radiopharmaceutical products by a reaction with a second ligand such as sodium dithiocarbamate.

    Abstract: A method for inhibiting corrosion in an aqueous medium is disclosed. The method comprises incorporating into the medium an amount of a water-soluble corrosion inhibitor sufficient to inhibit corrosion. The corrosion inhibitor comprises an N-ethoxy,2-substituted imidazoline, the N-ethoxy substituent having from one to about thirty ethoxy units and the 2-substituent being an unsaturated or polyunsaturated fatty chain of from about six to about thirty carbons. If the medium is sweet, the inhibitor further comprises a phosphate ester derived from a water-soluble oxyethylated, straight chain alcohol of from about two to about thirty carbons. Corrosion inhibitor compositions useful in such method are also disclosed.

The corrosion inhibitor formulations have vapor pressures which provide ongoing corrosion protection for susceptible articles situated favorably with respect to the composite.

When this compound is combined with a source of peroxygen in aqueous solution, then a plurality of stain removing peracids are formed. Such peracids are formed substantially sequentially beginning with the carbonyl adjacent to the leaving group L. Thus, a first stain removing peracid having the structure ##STR2## will be formed in amounts approaching quantitative yield.

    Abstract: Fire-retardant compositions are disclosed. The compositions include at least one nitrogen-liberating compound which will release nitrogen gas during burning, a primary fire-retardant agent; casein resin, and an activator of the casein resin. In the preferred embodiment, there are two nitrogen-liberating compounds, dicyandiamide and nitro-urea, the primary fire-retardant agent is diammonium phosphate, and a filler, titanium dioxide, is also included. The compositions are prepared in a mixing tank and can be applied in a known manner, optionally under high pressure, to cellulosic products such as cloth, yarn, paper, wood and wood substrates in order to impart a fire-retardant quality thereto. Fire-retardant glue and wood laminate structures produced using the glue are also disclosed.
