Abstract: A hair waving apparatus having at least two elements with undulations on each element for producing a wave in a lock of human hair is disclosed. The elements are pivotally connected and are biased toward each other and the elements are maintained in engagement with each other by a biasing means in the form of a spring to hold the lock of hair therebetween to impart a wave thereon. The undulations are dimensioned to allow each of the elements to nest within each other. A plurality of vents are disposed thereon the undulations to allow moisture to escape from the hair during hair styling and to hasten the hair drying process and subsequent wave formation in the hair.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for tooling and locking a handle to a pedicure blade is disclosed. The method and apparatus member presents an entire surface of the pedicure member to be available for use, the curving of the surface allows easy access to calluses in hard to reach areas, the blade thus may be sanitized in a disinfectant and the size of the blade is more convenient for storage.

Abstract: An implant, particularly for the spinal column, comprises a plate having openings, bone-anchoring members capable of being accommodated in the openings and at least one split-ring capable of holding the members in the orifices. The split-ring can come into direct contact with the anchoring member or members to hold the member or members in the orifices.

Abstract: A device for holding a kit of items used for wet shaving has a razor-receiving section for storing a razor in an upright manner with the blade head protectively located, and a container-receiving section for storing a can of shaving foam or gel. The body of the holder has an internal storage space for storing one or more replacement blade cartridges, and a miniature mirror is removably and reversibly fitted in the base of the device.

Abstract: A hairbrush comprising retractable bristles to ease removal of hair from the brush comprises an internal wedge and wheel mechanism actuated by a sliding button and link to the wheel. Alignment channels assure movement of the bristles through the perforated panel without binding. In alternative embodiments, a full expandable linkage or a half expandable linkage extend and retract the bristles through the perforated panel of the hairbrush.

The mist ejection device includes a mist ejection nozzle through which the liquid is configured to be ejected as mist and which is positioned in relation to the steam ejection nozzle such that ejection flow of the steam in the steam ejection nozzle causes a flow of the liquid toward the mist ejection nozzle from a mist liquid tank.

Abstract: A container for health and beauty aids having a novel cap and a cap therefor are disclosed. The cap has a recess in which an entertainment device is disposed. The entertainment device may include a touch activated light and/or sound package. When the user depresses an element on the cap, a touch switch is activated, and the light package lights up and/or the sound package generates a sound or noise. Alternatively, the cap may include one or more fluids disposed in the cap; the fluids are preferably immiscible. Small items such as glitter or confetti may be suspended in the fluids.

Abstract: An applicator for applying a product to the eyelashes includes a row of consecutive teeth having substantially aligned roots and portions extending from the roots alternately disposed on opposite sides of a geometric separation surface. The applicator includes a stem with a base portion attached to the stem and the teeth are disposed on the base portion. An application system includes the applicator and a container for containing a product to be applied to the eyelashes. A method of using the applicator includes loading at least some of the teeth with the product and placing at least some of the loaded teeth in contact with the eyelashes.

Abstract: Method for producing a hair strip wherein hairs lying adjacent to one another are joined together striplike by fusing on and cooling of a strip of synthetic material. For secure cementing of the hairs these are joined together at a predetermined distance from one of their two ends by pouring on of a strip of synthetic material, following which the protruding ends are cut off after solidification of the synthetic material. For improving the hold of the hairs, they may be joined in the region of the strip of synthetic material either before or after this has been poured on by additionally stitching with a thread preferably consisting of the same material.

Abstract: The present invention includes a braiding machine having three or more vessels, each vessel having an outer housing and an internal telescoping mandrel, the vessels being removably mounted on a portion of two wheel drums, the drums rotating and the direction of each vessel around the drum being altered by a toggling detent. To use the device, hair is wrapped onto an extended telescoped mandrel, the mandrel is collapsed, and a housing is placed on the mandrel to provide a vessel; three or more vessels are then mounted onto the drums and, when the device is powered, the hair on the mandrels emerges from the device as a braid.

Abstract: A hair grooming brush with a plurality or rows of curved wavy bristles, rather than traditional straight bristles found on brushes and combs. The curvature of the bristles produces a springiness to the bristles when pressure is applied during the combing action. The springiness of the numerous rows of bristles, translates into a massaging effect upon the hair and scalp. Rows of curved bristles are more effective at untangling the hair. The three different sections of the bristle, the lower, middle and tip sections, can be either straight or curved. Additionally the rows can alternate between various formations of bristles.

Abstract: A wax material and buffing element for use in buffingly applying a working amount of the wax material to a surface of a nail is disclosed. The wax material includes a hard wax component, a solvent component and an emulsifier component. The solvent has a high fugacity and flashes out in a buffing application of the wax material to the surface of a nail, leaving a very strong and rugged coating of wax upon the surface of the nail.

Abstract: A method of placing photographs, pictures, or lithographs on fingernails. The nail is measured, the picture is scanned into a computer, resized to fit the selected nail size and the image is printed. A substrate is applied to the film side of the printed paper sealing the ink and providing a colored backing. Then, a second coating is added which shields the image from damage during processing. The film is separated from the paper backing. A sealant is applied to the film on the opposite side of the image, followed by a covering that guards against wear when the picture is placed on the user's nail. The image is then punched out and an adhesive is applied to the original (printed) side. Finally, the product's adhesive side is applied to the fingernail, followed by at least one coat of clear nail polish that further secures the image to the nail.

Abstract: A hair-curling appliance has a first end and a second end that is rotatably connected to the first end. When the operator moves the hair-curling appliance downward, the first end of the appliance held by an end of an operator is turned to curl the hair of another person, and the second end of the appliance held by the other hand of the operator is not turned during the downward travel of the appliance, thereby keeping a longitudinal axis of the appliance parallel to a horizontal axis and thus preventing deviation of the appliance. A satisfactory hair-curling result is thus obtained.

Abstract: A cosmetic container serves both as a container for containing a liquid cosmetic and a stick type cosmetic material container for housing a stick type cosmetic material in such a manner that the stick type cosmetic material can be fed out. Thus, a container body in which a liquid cosmetic is filled is spirally engaged with a junction tool which freely opens and closes the container body. A stick type pivot which is inserted in the container body and has an applicator is fixed to the junction tool. A front cylinder is rotatably connected to the junction tool. A feeding mechanism for moving in an axial direction a rod, which retains the stick type cosmetic material to be slidably inserted in the front cylinder, by rotations of the junction tool and the front cylinder is provided.

The application element includes at least one row of consecutive teeth alternately disposed at least partially on opposite sides of a geometric separation surface. The consecutive teeth have portions substantially contiguous with one another. Interstices, such as V-shaped notches, are defined by consecutive teeth above the substantially contiguous portions. Three consecutive teeth define a volume configured to contain the product to be applied.

Abstract: A device for applying a thin, even layer of a liquid medicament to the scalp or other hair-covered skin surface while minimizing the amount of liquid wetting the hair is disclosed. The device includes a liquid reservoir and an applicator body having at least one downwardly extending tooth, each tooth having an internal fluid channel in communication with the reservoir, and having orifice ports adjacent to but above the tooth end. Metered doses of liquid are delivered to the orifice ports by operation of a manually operated pump or other fluid transport means.

Abstract: There is provided a rod member for an eyelash perm capable of applying a permanent to the entirety of the eyelashes and capable of performing the process of applying the permanent easily without an experienced person. The rod member for the eyelash perm comprises a plate-shaped base portion made from a soft resin and a rod portion made from a soft resin and formed to one edge of the base portion. The rod portion is formed so as to project to a front surface side of the base portion in a shape of a cross section of a substantial semi-circle and extends along the one side of the base portion. The front side surface of the base portion is an eyelashes fixing surface for eyelashes to cross over the rod portion and be fixed to by means of an appropriate adhesive material; and the back surface of the base portion is an eyelid adhering surface for an eyelid to be adhered to by means of an appropriate adhesive material.
