The flange may be modified to adapt it to different outer shells. Thus, the insert is adaptable to outer shells having a variety of different shapes and materials.

To remove the wand, the wand is moved in a first direction parallel to the stem axis to bring the brush into alignment with the channel; then the wand is moved in a second direction perpendicular to the stem axis to move the brush through the channel.
