  • Patent number: 11367148
Abstract: A producer may supply amounts xi of a good to a plurality of consumers Ci in a series of transactions and be subject to a mass balancing verification protocol after every K transactions. A producer platform may compute K random shares (r1 through rK) of a random value r, publish blinded amounts ti representing xi+ri to a secure, distributed transaction ledger, and transmit an encrypted ri to consumer Ci using an asymmetric cryptosystem. A consumer platform may receive and decrypt ri (while the consumer Ci actually receives an amount {circumflex over (x)}i of the good from the producer), compute {circumflex over (x)}i+ri and generate a fraud alert signal if it differs from the published ti. The consumer platform may also transmit an encrypted rolling sum value to a next consumer Ci+1. A verifier platform may, after K transactions, execute the mass balance verification protocol to determine a total amount of the good that the producer had collectively supplied to the consumers Ci.

  • Patent number: 11348105
Abstract: A system and method for electronic payment that involves generating and then using a temporary token based on a legacy PAN (Primary Account Number) to conduct an electronic transaction. The token is generated by transforming the PAN using specific inputs such that the original PAN can be recovered by manipulating the token in various ways as disclosed herein. One potential manipulation that may be used is encryption/decryption. The token is transmitted to a portable electronic device such that the portable electronic device may present the token to a point-of-sale device. The POS communicates the token to a server which validates the token by, among other things, recovering the PAN. If the PAN is recovered as expected a validation message is returned to the POS device.

  • Patent number: 11341472
Abstract: Various embodiments of the present invention relate to a point-of-sale (POS) system, and more particularly, to systems, devices and methods of making secure payments using a mobile device in addition to a POS terminal that may be an insecure payment device exposed to various tamper attempts under certain circumstances. The mobile device is involved in a trusted transaction between a central financial entity, e.g., a bank, and the payment terminal, such that the insecure payment terminal may be further authenticated based on rolling codes, two-way or three-way authentication, or an off-line mode enabled by incorporation of the mobile device. Although either of the mobile device and the payment terminal provides limited security, a POS system incorporating both of them demonstrates an enhanced level of security.

  • Patent number: 11270255
Abstract: A method for ESL utilizing light communications includes selecting for ESL, a product stocked on shelf slotting space in a retail environment and querying a database with an identifier for the selected product and receiving in response to the querying, pricing data for the selected product. The method additionally includes selecting a frequency of communication above a specified strobe rate for a lighting system illuminating the retail environment and transmitting a directive to a controller for the lighting system directing the lighting system to communicate the pricing data to a shelf labeling module associated with the selected product. Thereafter, in response to the directive, the controller encodes the pricing data into a strobe pattern of the lighting system and activates the pattern thereby communicating the pricing data to the shelf labeling module which then decodes the pricing data from the strobe pattern and display the pricing data in a display.

  • Patent number: 11257014
Abstract: A system and method is presented for gathering data concerning harvests. Data tickets are generated at a point of origination (i.e., the field), local storage, processing, or a customer location. Data tickets may also be generated for supplies delivered to the field. Implements attached to a vehicle in the field (e.g., a tractor) may provide sensor data over a vehicle communication bus about how a field processing task was performed. A computing device on the vehicle periodically reads the sensor data and records the data along with the current time and GPS position of the vehicle as a data point. A plurality of data points are transmitted to a remote server as a data trail. Data trails from a plurality of vehicles are compared to find points of intersection. Sensor data in the data trails for the points of intersection are examined to determine data related to the transfer of goods between vehicles during the time of intersection.

  • Patent number: 11257049
Abstract: An image of a receipt may be received by a service provider from a user device of a user. The receipt may be a record of a transaction between the user and a physical merchant. The service provider may extract text from the image and apply a predictive model trained on text data of historical receipts to the extracted text to identify keywords corresponding to items purchased in the transaction. The service provider may generate a shopping list for the user and/or may compare the keywords to descriptions of catalog items in an online catalog maintained by the service provider to identify catalog items that are the same or similar to the purchased items. The service provider may associate the catalog items with the user's account maintained by the service provider and generate a user interface to present on the user device that includes an indication of the catalog items.

  • Patent number: 11238401
Abstract: Techniques for employing user interfaces to output information indicative of events occurring in an inventory facility, and receive feedback from a human regarding the events are described herein. In one implementation, an event may take place in an inventory facility, such as a customer taking an item from an inventory location, returning an item to an inventory location, and so forth. An automated system of an inventory management system may process sensor data collected by sensors in the inventory facility to determine details of the event. In some examples, the inventory management system is unable to determine with a high level of confidence what occurred during the event. The inventory management system may provide the sensor data to a human associate through an associate interface, and receive input regarding details of the event from the human associate through the associate interface.
