Abstract: A vehicle driving assist system includes an imaging device, an alarm, and a controller. The controller includes a facial recognition unit, an occupant determination unit, and a loss determination unit. The facial recognition unit recognizes at least a part of an occupant's face in first captured images acquired from the imaging device. The occupant determination unit determines a driving state of the occupant on the basis of a second captured image in which at least the part of the face is recognizable, and generate a first alert request if the occupant is unable to drive the vehicle. The loss determination unit generates a second alert request if a third captured image in which at least the part of the face is unrecognizable occurs two or more times. The alarm outputs an alert to the occupant on the basis of the first and second alert requests.

  • Patent number: 11313967
Abstract: A self-testing measuring system includes at least three modes: an operating mode and at least two test modes. In a third test mode, a digital signal generating unit stimulates the digital input circuit directly by means of test signals. In a second test mode, the digital signal generating unit stimulates the analogue signal string and the digital input circuit by means of test signals. In a first test mode, the digital signal generating unit stimulates the analogue signal string, the measuring unit (typically an ultrasound transducer) and the digital input circuit by means of test signals, thereby allowing this signal string to be tested. In the operating mode, the digital signal generating unit stimulates the analogue signal string, the measuring unit (typically an ultrasound transducer) and the digital input circuit by means of output signals, thereby allowing the signal string to be monitored for parameter compliance.

  • Patent number: 11232708
Abstract: Systems and methods for real-time detection and mitigation anomalous behavior of a remote vehicle are provided, e.g., vehicle behavior that is consistent with distracted or unexpectedly disabled driving. On-board and off-board sensors associated with a subject vehicle may monitor the subject vehicle's environment, and behavior characteristics of a remote vehicle operating within the subject vehicle's environment may be determined based upon collected sensor data. The remote vehicle's behavior characteristics may be utilized to detect or determine the presence of anomalous behavior, which may be anomalous for the current contextual conditions of the vehicles' environment. Mitigating actions for detected remote vehicle anomalous behaviors may be suggested and/or automatically implemented at the subject vehicle and/or at proximate vehicles to avoid or reduce the risk of accidents, injury, or death resulting from the anomalous behavior. In some situations, authorities may be notified.
