Abstract: A memory device is interfaced to a SST; an identifier and, optionally, an invalid identifier list are received from the device. The invalid identifier list is updated to the SST when the invalid identifier list is a more recent version of a SST invalid identifier list. The identifier is invalidated when the identifier is matched in the invalid identifier list or when an expiration date associated with the identifier has expired. When the identifier is invalid, access to administrative features of the SST is denied; and when the identifier is valid access to the administrative features is granted.

Abstract: Systems and methods include a database maintained by a financial institution that stores transaction data associated with a previous financial transaction performed via a financial account of a respective account holder, wherein the transaction data comprises a transaction location and a transaction timestamp, a spend memory processor of the financial institution that retrieves the transaction data from the database, interacts with a social linking application programming interface (API) to receive, via a network, social data from a social networking site, wherein the social data comprises a social location and a social timestamp, compares the social data to the transaction data, and creates a spend memory record based on one or more similarities between the social data and the transaction data, and a communication interface of the financial institution that provides the spend memory record to a mobile device associated with the account holder.

Abstract: Introduced here is a technology for automatic notification of an invoice for a customer based on identification of a customer identifier included in transaction data received from a point-of-sale (POS) system of a particular merchant (“the invoice technology”). The notification can include a promotion to provide an incentive to the customer to pay the invoice. The notification can be presented on a display of the POS system. Alternatively, the notification can be presented in a receipt for the transaction conducted at the POS system, where that receipt can be transmitted for display at a user device of the customer. For example, the receipt can be in the form of an email message or a text message. Upon notification of the invoice, the customer can submit a payment for that invoice (“invoice payment”) in exchange for the promotion.

Abstract: Systems and methods configured for monitoring and analyzing financial transactions on public distributed ledgers for suspicious and/or criminal activity are disclosed. Exemplary implementations may: access public third-party information for addresses involved in financial transactions; correlate a first portion of the public third-party information with transaction addresses; label the financial transactions and/or the addresses according to characteristics, such that individual ones of the addresses either have been labeled or are unlabeled; cluster the financial transactions and/or the addresses into a set of clusters that includes a first cluster; assign levels of risk for suspicious and/or criminal activity to the addresses and the financial transactions; and responsive to comparisons of levels of risk with a threshold, report transactions for suspicious and/or criminal activity.

Abstract: Described are systems and techniques to present information to a user of a materials handling facility using a representative color. A representative color at an inventory location is determined based on one or more colors used at the inventory location. Once determined, the representative color may be used in the presentation of a user interface that includes item data and visual elements therein. The use of the representative color in the user interface facilitates the identification of items or an inventory location within the material handling facility.

The system may have at least one offboard utility meter, a communication device, and a controller in communication with the at least one offboard utility meter via the communication device. The controller may be configured to receive information from the at least one offboard utility meter during a waste service activity at the customer location by a waste service vehicle and to determine based on the information from the at least one offboard utility meter a fee associated with at least one utility service provided at the customer location. Abstract: Systems and methods for performing a transaction with a headless point-of-sale or automated teller machine (ATM) device are disclosed using a card having a second communications path to a financial services provider. A card having a display and radio frequency (RF) communications module may be authenticated with a headless point-of-sale device using a short-range RF communications link. Characteristics of the card may be set prior to the transaction. Transaction information may be provided to the display of the card from the headless point-of-sale device. A customer may confirm the transaction at the card using a touch-sensitive input area. During the processing, a communication may be made over the second communications path to authorize the transaction independently of the transaction processing path. A transaction may then be completed at the headless point-of-sale device.

Abstract: The invention provides a technology for electronic job processing which includes hiring, rating and paying short term workers. The method of architecting database schemas in conjunction with algorithms provides modules that dynamically automate processes including invoices on a mobile phone app. After authenticating a user on a mobile phone or computer, the algorithms display departmental user menus that provide functions based on user type. The rating mechanism which utilizes a numerical method to assign percentage values to a graphical rating input and stores it numerically in a database or file from where it is modified by a positive or negative value enables worker selection based on competence. The invention provides a window for displaying ads in the mobile apps in form of text, video or audio.

Abstract: A computer-implemented method includes periodically receiving a batch product presentation message comprising at least one of a presentation minimum for a plurality of products in a retail store and the facing quantity for a plurality of products in the retail store. A stream of product presentation messages is formed from the batch product presentation message. For each product presentation message, content of the product presentation message is used to identify a respective quantity of a product that is to be moved to the sales floor.

Abstract: Device and method for implementing a vehicle sharing reward program. The present invention provides for a cost-sharing plan where two or more constituencies share the rental cost associated with a user who rents a shared vehicle in a vehicle sharing program. This results in a reimbursement of the rental cost to the user. When enrolling in the vehicle sharing reward program, the user is given a health prescription to adhere to on any trip taken while using a shared vehicle. On a selected travel route, the user visits a vehicle sharing station, where the sharing station includes a kiosk that the user uses to check-in and upload relevant information such as distance traveled and locations visited. By complying with the health prescription issued to the user, the user can have its total rental cost reimbursed.

Abstract: Systems and methods for the intermodal delivery of materials within an at least substantially autonomous carrier traveling along a delivery path. The carrier may dock with a transit vehicle or engage directly with a railway to travel along a transit line while making a delivery. The carrier may also be suitable for securably storing materials therein, such as where a plurality of carriers stop at a storage hub located substantially near and/or along the delivery path. The storage hub may include a charging station for the carriers, and serve as a portable warehouse for both materials and carriers. When adequately charged, the carrier may deliver materials to their final destinations. Or, the materials may be transferred to a load transporter to facilitate first- and/or last-mile delivery.

Abstract: A method for operating a data processing system to discover the attributes of instruments in a set of instruments connected thereto is disclosed. The method causes the data processing system to determine all instruments in the set of instruments connected thereto by sending a first query on each communication link connected to the data processing system. The data processing system receives a response that identifies one of the instruments and a model identification code for that instrument. The data processing system retrieves model configuration information from an instrument catalog database attached to the data processing system based on the manufacturer's catalog information. The model configuration information includes an option that is available on the one of the instruments having the manufacturer's catalog information and a query that will cause that instrument to provide information on whether that option is installed on the one of the instruments.

Abstract: A method of remotely activating a transaction device includes receiving, at a computing system, a mobile device identifier from a mobile application executed on a mobile device. A selection of the transaction device is received from the application. The selection includes an identifier of the transaction device. A selection of a transaction amount related to purchase of a product is received from the application. An authorization request for a payment account associated with the mobile device is communicated to an issuer of the payment account. The authorization request is for a transaction of at least the transaction amount. An authorization approval for the transaction is received from the issuer and a signal to activate the transaction device to dispense the product is sent based on the identifier. The transaction device is deactivated upon dispensing the transaction amount and a receipt of the transaction is provided to the mobile device.

Disclosed is a system and method of electronically associating one or any combination of the production, packaging, order, transmission and distribution of live and event content “Recordings” with issuance or sale of a “ticket” or other event viewing rights [“ticket” defined to include any admission/registration data, payment, receipt, tournament entrance fee or logged placed bet] such that both an audience ticket holder and a non-ticketed holder such as a viewer or end user are able to automatically acquire a Recording and get other benefits separate from admission or viewing from and delivered to a terminal when connected to the Internet or other network. The systems disclosed also allow for authenticated event interaction to generate more content into the system.

A simulator determines the number of storage containers to be used for storing the articles and a number of articles to be stored by calculation. The calculation uses the acquired size of the articles and the acquired size of the container. The simulator (i) places the article in the container, (ii) determines whether a next article can be placed in the container after the article is placed, and (iii) in a case where the simulator determines that the next article can be placed, places the next article in the container after the article is placed and in a case where the simulator determines that the next article cannot be placed, adds a next container to be used for storing the next article.
