  • Patent number: 5664260
Abstract: An improved glove and method of making same whereby the palm portion has only one continuous seam reconnecting the palmar area after its reduction in dimensions to eliminate wrinkling or bunching thereat as well as connecting the unconnected side between the front and back faces. A close smoother fit of the hand at the palm area is obtained in the crease or fold line areas of the wearer's palm where an overlapped seam is created as manufactured or in modified gloves for improved gripping. In addition, one continuous seam makes assembly of the glove both easier and faster.

  • Patent number: 5652958
Abstract: A nursing canopy is provided for use by a nursing mother to protect the modesty of the mother when breast feeding an infant. The nursing canopy includes a fabric panel having a dimension sufficient to cover the front of the mother from the neck to the waist. A strap is attached to the panel for extending around the back of the neck to suspend the panel from the neck. A self-supporting neckline flange is located along a perimeter portion of the panel, and defines a self-supporting neckline of the panel. The neckline flange cooperates with the strap to hold the neckline of the panel a spaced-apart distance from a front neck area of the mother, thus defining an open viewing area such that the mother is capable of readily viewing the feeding infant.

  • Patent number: 5652960
Abstract: The nursing cover includes a fabric panel that has three portions. The front portion is for draping over a nursing baby and over the front of a nursing mother. The rear portion drapes over the shoulder and down the mother's back. The central portion is made of a mesh-type fabric that has sufficient opacity to obscure the baby from the view of a bystander but sufficient openness of weave to permit ventilation for the baby. Two areas of the outer side edge may be joined to provide additional privacy for the baby and the mother along the nursing side of the mother. When not being used as a nursing cover, it can serve as a stroller cover, with complementary hook-and-loop-type fasteners being mated to form a sleeve that can be draped over a stroller brace. In this embodiment the mesh-type fabric protects the baby from direct sunlight and provides privacy.

  • Patent number: 5651142
Abstract: A sock with sole, body and inner tube portions, the latter extending from the peripheral end of the body portion. The inner tube portion is made out of a lining that is thinner than the rest of the sock. The inner tube portion is folded and received entirely within the body portion of the sock. Stitching lines keep both layers of the folded inner tube attached to each other and to the body portion with at least one interruption along the end of the inner tube that is substantially aligned with the opening of the sock. Separate compartments are defined by longitudinally stitching both layers and to the body portion. Each compartment may be provided with an aperture to insert the objects to be carried by a user.

  • Patent number: 5642526
Abstract: The back part of the torso of the garment has a ventilation opening therein which can be selectively opened or closed by a slide fastener. A storage pouch is secured to the inside of the back part in surrounding relationship to the ventilation opening and provides a volume for receiving the garment when the pouch is pulled rearwardly of the garment through the ventilation opening. The storage pouch is formed of a sheet of material such as open mesh to provide free flow of air therethrough so that it will provide ventilation for the garment when it is worn as well as when it is in stored position. A flap is disposed adjacent the ventilation opening and extends laterally away from the garment when the ventilation opening is open to prevent the flap from closing off the opening. Air vents are provided under the arms. The open ends of the arms and legs can be closed by hook and loop type closure means such as VELCRO.

  • Patent number: 5630229
Abstract: A zipperless wetsuit constructed of a plurality of panels of material, some of which are stretchier than others. A majority of an upper body region of the wetsuit is constructed of panels of highly stretchable wetsuit material which utilizes a central layer of foam rubber and one or two surrounding laminates of nylon having a higher denier value than previous wetsuits. Strategic panels of the wetsuit are constructed of single nylon laminate foam rubber material which has maximum pliability and stretchability. A double-collar upper entryway allows a wearer to enter the suit without the use of a zipper. An inner collar includes an aperture which may be stretched apart to allow entry of the wearer. An outer collar extends over the head of the wearer in a continuous circle to seal the inner collar against the wearer's neck.

  • Patent number: 5621916
Abstract: Bib specifically adapted to be worn while an operator is controlling a vehicle. The device defines particular application while a user is eating and/or drinking while operating a vehicle. In its broadest context, the device includes a sheet of material having a first and a second end and an intermediate extent therebetween, wherein the intermediate extent is of a greater width than the first and second ends. Furthermore, a first steering column ring is adapted to be secured to the first end of the sheet while a neck ring is adapted to be secured adjacent the second end of the sheet. Thus, in operation, the user affixes the neck ring about the neck and the steering column ring about the steering column of a vehicle and thus employs the sheet as a bib.
