  • Patent number: 4288921
Abstract: A scoring device which produces a plurality of cuts with a single pass comprises a handle and a body portion containing a movable blade holding assembly consisting of a series of razor blades mounted on a shaft with spacer elements between them. By loosening a thumb screw on the shaft the assembly can be released from a retracted noncutting position and slid out from the body portion to expose a greater amount of the blade edge which will produce a deeper cut. The assembly is then locked at the desired extended position with the thumb screw. The blades can be easily and economically replaced to maintain a sharp cutting edge and the device can be used to score fish.

  • Patent number: 4286404
Abstract: There is provided an animal trap construction, in which a coil spring is adapted, upon springing of the trap, to cause a swing arm to pivot upwardly through a vertical arc, and tighten a noose around the leg of an animal. The coil spring is contained between two upstanding brackets, and an end portion of the swing arm, bent at right angles to the latter, passes centrally through the spring, and passes through the two brackets. A first bushing of cylindrical form is fixed within the end of the spring remote from the bend location between the swing arm and its end portion, the first bushing having a smaller-diameter cylindrical extension passing through an aperture in the respective bracket. A second bushing is provided at the other end of the coil spring, the second bushing having a flange which is adapted to be located between the coil spring and the respective bracket. The end portion of the swing arm passes through both bushings.

  • Patent number: 4285154
Abstract: A signalling device for use when ice fishing which includes a flag that is retained in a generally horizontal retracted position when the device is set for use and moved to an upright signalling position when the fish takes the hook and pulls fishing line from a reel. The device also includes a frame supported on the ice in transverse relation to an ice hole in which the frame includes a unique structure which enables it to be easily lifted from the ice even if it is placed on the ice surface when the surface is somewhat slushy and becomes frozen to the ice thereby facilitating the fisherman pulling out a fish or removal of the device when it is desired to leave the fishing area.
