Abstract: A system implementable using a programmable processor includes a plurality of pre-stored commands for building an inventory of audio, musical, works or audio/visual works, such as music videos. A plurality of works can be collected together in a list for purposes of establishing a play or a presentation sequence. The list can be visually displayed and edited. A plurality of lists can be stored for subsequent retrieval. A selected list can be retrieved and executed. Upon execution, the works of the list are presented sequentially either audibly or visually. The works can be read locally from a source, such as a CD, or can be obtained, via wireless transmission, from a remote inventory. If desired, establishment of a predetermined credit can be a pre-condition to being able to add items to the list for presentation.

Abstract: Disclosed are apparatus and methods for generating displays based on a layout with inconsistent constraints. The layout specifies a set of rectangular components within a container rectangle. A plurality of grid lines is determined from the layout. Each rectangular component is associated with at least two grid lines that are based on a size of the rectangular component. A system of constraints is generated that includes inconsistent constraints. A graph including a plurality of nodes and a plurality of edges is generated from the plurality of grid lines and the system of constraints. A variant of the Bellman-Ford algorithm configured to operate with the inconsistent constraints solves a single-source path-length problem for the graph to determine locations for the grid lines. A display of the rectangular components is generated based on the locations of the grid lines.

Abstract: Systems and methods in accordance with various embodiments of the present invention provide for representing a plurality of data values of a hierarchical dataset as graphical elements in a configurable data visualization. A first data visualization may be displayed in a data visualization display page, along with a user interface. A selection of a rendered root node and rendered leaf nodes to be displayed in a second data visualization is received from the user interface. Based on the selection of the rendered root node and rendered leaf nodes, a number of depth levels to display is determined. Also, which of the depth levels to display are identified based on the selection of the rendered root node and rendered leaf nodes. The second data visualization is rendered based on the determined number of depth levels and the identified depth levels.

Abstract: Method to generate a procedural map (50) having a tree structure (40) comprising a plurality of levels (43), each one with at least one node (41) to which is associated at least one parameter, comprising the steps consisting in: providing a tool for parameter setting adapted to parameterize the tree corresponding to the map to provide and adapted to be connected to at least one external source of parameters; receiving, via the tool for parameter setting (or generation of procedural maps) the parameters of the map to be provided; at least one of said parameters coming from an external source; processing said parameters, in order to generate said map; Such a map comprises parameters and a structure allowing it to provide “special” effects in the field of image processing. The invention further provides a tool for generation and/or modification for the implementation of said method.

Abstract: Embodiments of the invention are generally related to graphical user interfaces (GUIs), and more specifically to selecting items from a radial menu. More specifically, embodiments of the invention provide a complex set of gestures which, when performed using a screen pointer, facilitate fast and accurate selection of radial menu items from a radial menu. The gestures may generally involve a first movement of the screen pointer to activate a desired radial menu item, and a second predefined movement of the screen pointer to select the radial menu item.

Abstract: This disclosure describes, generally, tools to allow more intuitive display and/or definition of ranges in software applications. Merely by way of example, a software application might include a user interface that has a graphical element (such as a line, a bar, and/or the like) that represents a spectrum of values. The application might further include one or more markers that serve to define boundaries of one or more ranges within the spectrum. By allowing a user to move the markers (through manipulation of the markers using a mouse, typing values for the markers, and/or the like), the interface can allow the user to quickly and easily define different ranges of values and/or to view defined ranges. In an aspect, a marker (and/or an accompanying indicator) may be configured to indicate to the user whether the value represented by the marker falls within or outside the range bounded by the marker.

Abstract: A method for providing table-of-contents extensions for items displayed on an electronic device may include displaying contents of the item other than a table of contents for the item. The method may also include receiving user selection of a navigation option while the contents of the item are being displayed. The navigation option may correspond to a part of the item that is listed in the table of contents for the item. The method may also include navigating to the part of the item corresponding to the navigation option in response to the user's selection of the navigation option.

Abstract: Methods and apparatus for providing an advertisement in a sidebar, and/or in a slidesheet associated with an application module displayed in the sidebar. The advertisement is targeted to the sidebar user based upon user specific information maintained by a content provider. The user specific information can comprise, sidebar application information, user preference information, shared user information and other information associated with the user that can be used to select an advertisement targeted to the user. An advertisement displayed in a slidesheet can be selected based upon user information and/or the functionality provided by the application module associated with the slidesheet.

Abstract: Embodiments described herein are directed to managing document interactions in a collaborative document area of a virtual world. Document interactions of avatars in the collaborative document area of the virtual world are captured by an interaction tool deployed in the collaborative document area. The document interactions are related to at least one document in the collaborative document area. The document interactions are associated with the at least one document based on a reference scheme applied to the collaborative document area by an interaction association unit.

Abstract: A mobile terminal 10 is equipped with an LCD monitor 32 and a touch panel input device 24 mounted on an upper surface of the LCD monitor 32. The LCD monitor 32 displays character input keys and a received mail, so that character strings in a body text of the received mail are arbitrarily selected by operations on the touch panel input device 24. Further, related information of a selected character string is temporarily stored so as to be correlated with an arbitrary character input key. Then, when a touch-and-slide operation is performed from the character input key utilized in the temporary storage to a body text of a transfer mail, the temporarily stored related information can be inserted into the body text of the transfer mail.

Abstract: A system (102) for previewing changes to a structured flow diagram is provided. The system includes a user interface (110) that displays a structured flow diagram according to a predetermined visual format. The system (100) further includes a preview module (112) for generating a modified display of a portion of the structured flow diagram displayable with the user interface (110). The modified display shows a user-directed modification to the structured flow diagram by displaying the user-directed modification in a different visual format juxtaposed with portions of the structured flow diagram that remain unchanged by the user-directed modification. The modification to the structured flow diagram can thus be previewed prior to determining whether to incorporate the modification into the structured flow diagram if the system user elects to do so.

Abstract: A system, method, and computer readable medium for script logic graphical mapping comprises displaying a panel associated with at least one script, presenting a branching logic associated with the panel and creating a graphical map of the panel and the branching logic where the graphical map allows zooming in to show panel logic associated with the panel, and the graphical map allows zooming out to show the branching logic associated with the panel.

Abstract: Prioritized user interfaces are disclosed. A user interface may include a menu including a plurality of selectable items displayed in respective menu positions. A menu position of at least one of the plurality of selectable items is assigned based on a prioritization level of the at least one selectable item. The prioritization level is based at least partially on a selection metric for the at least one selectable item. The user interface may also include a menu locator indicating a location of a menu within a multi-level menu structure. The menu locator may include a first indicator of a position within a first level of the multi-level menu structure and a second indicator of a position within a second level of the multi-level menu structure.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for sharing viewing information is disclosed. In one embodiment, the method comprises receiving an designation of a second user from the first user; and transmitting the first user viewing information to the designated second user. The shared viewing information may comprise the identity of a currently viewed media program, a list of scheduled media program viewings, or the media program itself.

Abstract: In a system and method for controlling a virtual keyboard of an electronic device, the virtual keyboard is generated and displayed on a touch screen of the electronic device. The method sets an angle threshold value, a movement amplitude and a movement direction of the virtual keyboard for each tilting angle of the electronic device. When the electronic device is in an edit mode and displays a middle keyboard area of the virtual keyboard, the method records an initial tilting angle and read the tilting angle of the electronic device. The method calibrates the read tilting angle to acquire actual tilting angle according to the initial tilting angle, and confirms the movement amplitude and movement direction of the virtual keyboard according to the actual tilting angle. The virtual keyboard is controlled to move according to the confirmed movement amplitude and towards the confirmed movement direction.

Abstract: Systems and methods for assisting user interaction with physical objects. A system may include an interactive display surface configured to display visual output and receive a physical object, where the object possesses encoded data including data other than data directly identifying the object. The system may include a computer-readable storage medium storing program instructions executable by the surface computer to implement software applications. In response to the display surface receiving the object, the surface computer may be configured to read the encoded data passively with respect to the object, without using an active electronic interface between the surface computer and the object, and to display a user interface for software applications dependent upon the passively read encoded data, such that one or more elements of the user interface are visually associated on the interactive display surface with the physical object.

Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed for providing electronic distribution of filtered calendars. The disclosed systems and methods may include receiving control data. The control data may be configured to indicate a portion of master calendar data a user designates to transmit. Furthermore, the disclosed systems and methods may include filtering the master calendar data based on the control data to create filtered calendar data and transmitting the filtered calendar data.

Abstract: A system for collecting data elements relating to events in an interventional procedure includes an input, a clock, a memory and a display. The input, during the interventional procedure, receives the data elements from at least two systems use in the interventional procedure. The clock registers a time of receipt of the data elements. The memory stores items relating to respective events, each item including the corresponding data element and the corresponding time of receipt. The display displays representations of the items sequentially along a timeline in accordance with the respective times of receipt.

The control apparatus and method enables control of at least one parameter of audio reproduction depending on contact with a touch sensitive panel. The functions of the sound reproduction apparatus which may be controlled include, for example, radio channel selection, track selection, album selection and the like.

Abstract: A method in a power transmission or distribution system, an operator terminal in such a system as well as to a computer program product from such an operator terminal, wherein the operator terminal presents graphical objects representing electrical power transmission control stations together with graphical objects representing power lines on a display, and changes the degree of abstraction of the presentation based on an operator selection or an own selection. A change from a lower to a higher degree involves moving a group of graphical objects including control stations closer to a condensation center point on a power line that is common for this group, and a change from a higher to a lower condensation degree involves moving the group away from the condensation center point.
