Abstract: A reproducing apparatus includes a playback data acquisition unit for acquiring playback data containing encoded stream data, a decoding unit for decoding the stream data, a mixing unit for mixing data to be mixed, different from the stream data, with the stream data decoded by the decoding unit, and a selecting unit for selecting between supplying the stream data to the decoding unit and outputting the stream data, and a control unit for controlling the selecting unit. The control unit acquires, from the playback data acquired by the playback data acquisition unit, determination information indicating whether the playback data contains the data to be mixed with the stream data, and controls the selecting unit to output the stream data if the determination information determines that the playback data contains no data to be mixed and if data processed by the playback data processing unit is output as encoded data.

  • Patent number: 9058609
Abstract: A brand engine receives a request from a user device operated by a first user to display user information of a second user. User information of the first user is mapped to at least the user information of the second user by the brand engine. The mapping may map the user information of the first user to user information of further users in a social network. The mapping may map of any combination of spatial, temporal, social, and topical data related to the users. A modified representation of a brand profile of the second user is generated by the brand engine based on the mapping. The modified representation is transmitted to the user device. The user device displays the modified representation for the first user. The modified representation of the brand profile may include any combination of filtered and/or sorted brand objects, recommended brand objects, and/or modified brand objects.

  • Patent number: 9047339
Abstract: A system determines whether a received search query includes an entity name, determines whether to rewrite the received search query based on information relating to prior searches involving the entity name, and rewrites the received search query when it is determined that the received search query should be rewritten. The system further determines whether to provide a suggestion of rewriting the received search query, as a rewriting suggestion, based on information relating to prior searches involving the entity name when it is determined that the received search query should not be rewritten. The system also generates the rewriting suggestion when it is determined that the rewriting suggestion should be provided. The system performs a search based on one of the received search query and the rewritten search query to obtain search results, presents the search results, and presents the rewriting suggestion when it is determined that the rewriting suggestion should be provided.

  • Patent number: 9020882
Abstract: Embodiments relate to systems and methods for a middleware database hosting dimensional transforms. A set of applications can access a combined data of a set of data sources via a database system. The set of data sources can be configured with diverse dimensions and associated data. The requesting application(s) can generate a request to the database system to extract data in compatible formats for the application(s). In embodiments, the database system can transform selected dimensional data (e.g., company, year, sales dimensions) from the data sources into transformed dimensional data. The requesting application(s) can therefore perform searches, sorts, and/or other operations on the transformed dimensional results.

  • Patent number: 8983262
Abstract: The invention relates to an information recording apparatus capable of relay recording, during which a sequence of data is continuously recorded across a plurality of recording media, as well as to a controlling method thereof. If the relay recording mode is set, it is determined whether any medium having a wireless communication function is present among the recordable recording media. If a recording medium having a wireless communication function is present, data transfer utilizing the wireless communication function is inactivated. This enables relay recording that accounts for cases in which memory cards provided with a wireless communication function are included among the recording media.
