  • Patent number: 9609484
Abstract: Electronic devices can be provided with access point sparse databases that include a listing of some or all known access points in a geographic region and the respective coordinates of those access points. The device can scan and identify the access points that are within range of the device. The device can reference the names of the detected access points with access point information included in the sparse database stored in the device to determine the coordinates of the detected access points. These coordinates provide an estimate as to the device's geographic position. The sparse database can also include data describing various actions that are triggered in response to the device being located in the geographic region. Thus, upon determining that the device is physically located in the geographic region, the device can perform or execute any actions that have been specified in the sparse database.

  • Patent number: 9591471
Abstract: A non-call service processing method, apparatus and system in a Circuit Switch Fallback (CSFB) system are provided. The method includes that UE transmits a location updating request to VLR2 where a new LAI is located; VLR2 receiving the location updating request transmits a location updating request to a HLR; the HLR receiving the location updating request transmits a location cancellation message carrying an address of VLR2 to VLR1 where original LAI is located; VLR1 receiving the location cancellation message forwards a received non-call service request to VLR2; VLR2 processes the received non-call service request, and transmits a processing result to VLR1; and VLR1 transmits the received processing result to the HLR or a GMLC which transmitted the non-call service request. Thus the interruption of a non-call service can be avoided, and the normal use of UE can be ensured.

  • Patent number: 9584170
Abstract: A broadband superheterodyne receiver. Embodiments include an input for receiving an RF signal including an RF data signal at a carrier frequency. An RF mixer coupled to the input shifts the RF data signal from the carrier frequency to an IF frequency. An IF band pass filter coupled to the mixer has a pass band, and band pass filters the signal near the IF frequency. A spectrum analyzer provides information representative of the spectral characteristics of the received RF signal around the RF data signal at the carrier frequency. An IF controller is coupled to the RF mixer and to the spectrum analyzer. The IF controller: (1) determines an interference-mitigating IF frequency within the pass band of the band pass filter that will result in attenuation of undesired portions of the RF signal, and (2) controls the RF mixer to shift the RF data signal to the interference-mitigating IF frequency.

  • Patent number: 9565039
Abstract: In a data transmission system, one or more signal supply voltages for generating the signaling voltage of a signal to be transmitted are generated in a first circuit and forwarded from the first circuit to a second circuit. The second circuit may use the forwarded signal supply voltages to generate another signal to be transmitted back from the second circuit to the first circuit, thereby obviating the need to generate signal supply voltages separately in the second circuit. The first circuit may also adjust the signal supply voltages based on the signal transmitted back from the second circuit to the first circuit. The data transmission system may employ a single-ended signaling system in which the signaling voltage is referenced to a reference voltage that is a power supply voltage such as ground, shared by the first circuit and the second circuit.
