The cable assembly also includes at least two separate cooling circuits within the cable, namely a first cooling circuit having a cooling fluid in the tubes surrounded by the power conductors, and a second cooling circuit having a cooling fluid in auxiliary tubes to cool the plug transition. Systems and methods are also provided for charging an electrical energy storage on basis of such a cable assembly.
