  • Patent number: 11116424
Abstract: The present invention relates to a device, system and method for reliable and fast fall detection. The device comprises a sensor input (11) for obtaining sensor data related to movement of a subject acquired by a body-worn sensor (20, 22, 61) worn by the subject, and a video input (12) for obtaining video data of the subject and/or the subject's environment. An analysis unit (13) analyzes the obtained sensor data to detect one or more signal features indicative of a potential fall of the subject and for analyzing, if one or more such signal features have been detected, the detected one or more signal features and/or related sensor data in combination with related video data to identify similarities between: changes of the related sensor data and/or the signal features over time; and changes of the video data over time. An output (14, 64, 65, 66) issues a fall detection indication if the level and/or amount of detected similarities exceeds a corresponding threshold.

  • Patent number: 11107338
Abstract: A system for remote detection of a fire condition includes a plurality of remote sensors and a central hub connected to each sensor to create a localized network capable of detecting changes in environmental conditioned within a geographic area defined by the locations of the sensors. The sensors may be configured to detect conditions such as changes in temperature, levels of carbon dioxide, smoke or other fire related particulates and report sensor readings back to the connected hub. The hub processes received sensor data from each sensor and generates an alert if the processed data meets any predetermined condition such as one associated with a fire. The alert may be transmitted to a tracking station with a geographic indication of where the alert was generated and a drone may be sent to the location of the geographic indication to acquire additional data to help determine if further action is required.

  • Patent number: 11095719
Abstract: An improved system on a transit vehicle is described for coordinated mediation action in response to an identified environmental anomaly on a shipping container transported by the vehicle. The system has wirelessly broadcasting ID nodes at different locations within the container, and a fire suppression system on the vehicle having a wireless transceiver-based controller operating as a master node that can cause the suppression system to deliver fire suppressant material to the container using a delivery nozzle and pump. The controller, as master node, is configured to operate as a primary monitor for the anomaly by being operative to monitor ID node signals; identify the anomaly based on the signals; generate a layered alert notification related to the anomaly (identifying a targeted mediation action and establishes a mediation response priority); and initiate a mediation response by the suppression system related to the targeted mediation action and the mediation response priority.

  • Patent number: 11080975
Abstract: Various techniques for theft proofing autonomous driving vehicles (ADV) for transporting goods are described. In one embodiment, sensor data of a moving object representing a person within a predetermined proximity of an ADV are captured for real-time analysis by a theft detection module, to determine a moving behavior of the moving object based on the sensor data in view of a set of known moving behaviors. The theft detection module further determines whether an intention of the person is likely to remove at least some of the goods from the ADV using a process derived from historical image set, and sends an alarm to a predetermined destination in response to determining such an intention of the person. Other sensor data, for example, real time movements and weights of the ADV, can be used in conjunction with the process derived from historical image sets to determine the intention of the person.

  • Patent number: 11049382
Abstract: A concept for personalizing a fall detection algorithm to a particular subject. Sensor data, responsive to a fall of a subject, is obtained at the fall detector, along with feedback information responsive to a confirmation of whether the subject has fallen and/or whether the subject had not fallen. Parts of the sensor data, and corresponding portions of the feedback information, are transmitted to an external device, which generate update information for the fall detection algorithm. The update information is then used by the fall detector to update, and thereby personalize, the fall detection algorithm.
