  • Patent number: 10930158
Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed for identifying high risk parking lots. High risk parking lots may be, for example, parking lots that pose a higher than average risk of collisions and/or theft. Auto insurance claim data may be analyzed to identify hazardous areas. A virtual navigation of roads within the hazardous area may be identified. Public parking lots within the virtual navigation map may be defined, with each public parking lot determined as either in a hazardous area or not. A vehicle may be determined to be approaching or parking in a parking lot in a hazardous area, and a nearby public parking lot not associated with the hazardous area may be selected instead. A route from a current position to the nearby public parking lot may be generated, and the vehicle may be routed to the nearby public parking lot. As a result, collisions and thefts may be reduced.

  • Patent number: 10926140
Abstract: A device includes a signaling means and a motion sensor, and logic for activating or controlling the signaling means in response to a sensed motion according to an embedded logic. The device may be used as a toy, and may be shaped like a play ball or as a handheld unit. It may be powered from a battery, either chargeable from an AC power source directly or contactless by using induction or by converting electrical energy from harvested kinetic energy. The embedded logic may activate or control the signaling means, predictably or randomly, in response to sensed acceleration magnitude or direction, such as sensing the crossing of a preset threshold or sensing the peak value. The visual means may be a numeric display for displaying a value associated with the count of the number of times the threshold has been exceeded or the peak magnitude of the acceleration sensed.

  • Patent number: 10916114
Abstract: Methods and systems are described for authorizing an item with an RFID tag to leave a facility. In one embodiment, a mobile device receives or determines an exit code (EC) to write into the tag in response to providing authorizing information. The EC may be based on information stored in the tag such as the tag's item identifier or other tag information (collectively an item identifier or II), a ticket value, other information such as the OC, a mobile identity or location, or any other suitable information. Upon verification of the EC, the tagged item is allowed to leave the facility. In another embodiment, the mobile device stores an item identifier (II) associated with the tag and provides authorizing information. Upon verifying the authorizing information and confirming that the stored II corresponds to the tagged item's II, the tagged item is allowed to leave the facility.

  • Patent number: 10897947
Abstract: The present invention provides a smart helmet falling detection method and a smart helmet. The falling detection method includes following steps: initializing a system, determining a free fall, determining a collision, determining motionlessness, and generating an emergency signal according to a detection result that a motionlessness event occurs within a fourth duration after the collision event occurs. The smart helmet includes a three-axis acceleration sensor and a controller. For the smart helmet falling detection method and the smart helmet provided in the present invention, the acceleration is measured by the three-axis acceleration sensor installed on the smart helmet, and whether a riding falling event occurs is determined by analyzing change of the acceleration, and alarm is given according to the falling event, such that the problem of falling detection and calling for help in a riding process is solved in a targeted manner.

  • Patent number: 10884455
Abstract: The disclosure discloses a wearable computing device (WCD) that would selectively and automatically activate a transceiver of the WCD for data transmission based on sensor data obtained from a sensor module of the \VCD. In some example, the sensor module may convert the physical movements of the WCD into sensor data. Then, a processor module of the WCD compares the sensor data to a predetermined pattern pre-stored in the memory. If the sensor data matches the predetermined pattern, the processor module activates the transceiver to receive/transmit data packets. If the sensor data does not match the predetermined pattern, the process goes back to the beginning, where the processor module monitors the movement of the WCD through the sensors.
