Abstract: Described is a system and method for propagating, synchronizing and expiring user specific information among multiple output devices. In some implementations, retention information is provided along with the user specific information and the output device and/or output device controller will determine when to expire the user specific information based on the retention information. In other implementations, the output device controller and/or output device may periodically request updates from other output devices, output device controllers and/or the inventory management system to determine whether to expire user specific information.

Abstract: This disclosure describes, in part, cloud-based generation of receipts using transaction information. In some examples, a payment service can send receipt templates to a point-of-sale (POS) device of a merchant, receive an indication of a selected receipt template from the POS device, and associated the selected receipt template in a merchant profile of the merchant. The payment system can then receive transaction information from the POS device of the merchant, generate a receipt for the transaction using the selected receipt template associated with the merchant profile, and send data representing the receipt to the POS device. In some examples, the receipt template defines a layout of the receipt, text to include in the receipt, and one or more graphics to include in the receipt.

Abstract: Methods, apparatuses, and computer program products are disclosed for building a consolidated searchable database of vehicle images that were captured at a plurality of different sites. The database can be searched to track vehicle condition over time and over a plurality of transactions involving the vehicles. From this information, a determination can be made as to whether damage first arose on a vehicle during a particular transaction for the purpose of allocating responsibility for payment of repair costs.

Abstract: A cargo management system receives parcel data associated with cargo on a vessel. The parcel data may include bill of lading date, successor and predecessor data, cargo type data, and the like. The cargo management system identifies parcels that may be related, performs a parcel validation on the identified parcels, and receives or determines a relationship between the parcels. Then, the cargo management system performs voyage validation on the related parcels to create a voyage. The cargo management system then calculates a loss associated with each parcel, between parcels, and the entire voyage.

Abstract: A method for purchasing a product at a brick-and-mortar retail establishment is provided. The method includes, but is not limited to, inputting identification information into a local device for a product sold by the brick-and-mortar retail establishment, transmitting the identification information to an order creation application, and upon receiving the identification information, selecting a dispense type for the product. The dispense type is selected from a group of dispense types including: “carry” for personally carrying the product out of the brick-and-mortar retail establishment, “load” for having the product loaded into the user's vehicle, “pickup” for having the product provided to the user at a predetermined location whereby the user will go to get that product, and “delivery” for delivering the product to the user at a predetermined location.

Abstract: Implementations described and claimed herein provide systems and methods for managing inventory usage to predict when a pool of available inventory will become exhausted based on past usage trend data. In one implementation, raw usage data is extracted from a first data sample. The first data sample has a first input time, and the raw usage data specifies a total amount of inventory for one or more inventory types. The total amount of inventory is categorized for each of the inventory types into an amount of used inventory and an amount of available inventory. A projected inventory usage for each of the inventory types is generated based on the categorized total amount of inventory. The projected inventory usage defines an availability status of each of the inventory types.

Abstract: A method for determining a future financial requirement of a business entity. The method includes obtaining a propensity model that models how data of a business entity relates to a future financial requirement. Also, the method includes gathering the data of the business entity. The data includes financial data of the business entity, and metadata describing use of a platform by users associated with the business entity. The data matches at least a subset of the propensity model. Further, the method includes scoring the business entity by applying the propensity model to the data of the business entity. In addition, the method includes generating, based on the score of the business entity, a classification of the future financial requirement of the business entity. Still yet, the method includes transmitting a message to the business entity based on the classification of the future financial requirement of the business entity.

Abstract: A payment reader and a merchant device may communicate over a wireless connection. Reliable and unreliable packets may be transmitted over a single messaging path. Each of a plurality of unreliable packet may include a data payload and a packet identifier. The unreliable packets and a reliable packet may be transmitted over the single messaging path during a first connection event. A response to the reliable packet may be received during the second event and may include a received packet listing. If the received packet listing indicates that any of the unreliable packets were not received, any unreliable packet that was not received may be retransmitted.

Abstract: A system and method for converting the amount of a transaction at a POS terminal from a local currency used by a merchant to an alternative currency (e.g., the home currency of the card). Card currency data obtained from a financial card is provided to a remote currency conversion system. The POS terminal determines whether a chip card is being used for the transaction, and if it is, card currency data on the card is accessed. The cardholder is provided a choice of completing the transaction using either the local currency or the home currency. On the other hand, if a card with a magnetic stripe is being used for the transaction, card number information on the magnetic stripe is used to determine possible home currencies and receive a selection from the cardholder of one of the possible home currencies or the local currency.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for light-based data communication for a personal inventory and product support system are described. In one embodiment, the method comprises using a device associated with a user, including capturing visible light carrying data identifying a product, obtaining the data identifying the product from the captured visible light, configuring the device to receive product support content for the product based on the identifying data, the product support content having been curated from a plurality of content servers on behalf of the user, receiving a notification that curated product support content for the product is available, and presenting the curated product support content to the user.

Abstract: A method of collecting data from multiple sources in a multi-tenant system is provided. The method includes obtaining data corresponding to a first tenant in the multi-tenant system and a second tenant in the multi-tenant system from a first source, obtaining data corresponding to the first tenant in the multi-tenant system and the second tenant in the multi-tenant system from a second source, and aggregating the data obtained from the first and second sources into a single database and associating each entry of the obtained data with at least one of the tenants of the multi-tenant system.

Abstract: A system and method is disclosed for solving supply chain planning problems. The system includes a database that stores data representing a planning problem of a supply chain network and a computer that accesses the planning problem of the supply chain network stored in the database and models the planning problem as a network of nodes and edges. The computer further generates a hierarchical linear programming solution of the planning problem and applies advanced heuristics to the generated hierarchical linear programming solution. The computer still further formulates a mixed integer program to generate an optimized global hierarchical solution and stores the generated optimized global hierarchical solution in the database.

Abstract: A transaction authentication system authenticates a transaction by determining whether a mobile device and POS device involved in the transaction are at the same location. A POS registry stores location data for POS devices. A PAN registry stores mobile device IDs corresponding to account numbers. A mobile device ID can be provided from the PAN registry in response to receiving an account number from a POS device. The mobile device ID can then be used to retrieve location information from a home location register maintained by a mobile service provider. The retrieved location data for a POS device and the retrieved location data for a mobile device are compared.

Abstract: Methods, servers and computer program products for managing transport orders. The server receives a transport order which specifies a shipment to be transported from a first site to a second site. The server receives an indication of an available industrial truck of the plurality of industrial trucks. The server generates a driving order according to given criteria depending at least on properties of the available industrial truck, wherein the driving order specifies a subset of the shipment within a load capacity of the available industrial truck. The server transmits the generated driving order to the available industrial truck for execution.

Abstract: In an example embodiment, bid specifications for an ecommerce transaction are transmitted from a party requesting bids to a plurality of bidders. Then a modification to the bid specifications is received from a first bidder of the plurality of bidders along with a bid in accordance with the modified bid specifications. The modified bid specifications may then be transmitted to the plurality of bidders other than the first bidder. Bids in accordance with the modified bid specifications are then received from each of the plurality of bidders other than the first bidder. One of the bids may be selected, and the ecommerce transaction may be consummated based on the selected bid.

Abstract: Technology for selectively providing an invoice payment option in an e-commerce application is described. In an example embodiment, a method selectively determines to activate the invoice payment option for the business customer in a graphical user interface associated with the e-commerce application based on the status of the invoice account of the business customer and a determination that the one or more items in the virtual shopping cart are approved for the invoice payment option. The method generates the graphical user interface including the invoice payment option and the summary of the virtual shopping cart and provides providing the graphical user interface including the invoice payment option and the summary of the virtual shopping cart for presentation on the client device associated with the business account of the business customer.
