  • Patent number: 8107483
Abstract: A front end of an IPv6 communication network includes a network entry point device and a plurality of tunnel servers which facilitate the communication of user information between a host computer of an IPv4 communication network and an IPv6 wireless communication device. The network entry point device is configured to direct a tunnel request from the host computer to a selected tunnel server, which establishes a tunnel connection with the host computer. The tunnel server facilitates the communication of user information between the host and the wireless device through the tunnel connection. The tunnel server also performs a dynamic routing protocol (DRP). In accordance with the DRP, the tunnel server updates a local routing table to reflect the newly established tunnel connection and broadcasts updated routing table information to the other tunnel servers.

  • Patent number: 8107506
Abstract: A method and apparatus for reducing service impairment in a LAG are provided. The method includes: dividing a service packet into multiple service sub-flows, and allocating the multiple service sub-flows to all the physical ports averagely; after a new port is added, configuring a preset quantity of service sub-flows for the new port; or, after a port is deleted, allocating the service sub-flows on the deleted port to other ports; and finding a forwarding physical port through a service packet according to the service sub-flows. An apparatus for reducing service impairment in a LAG includes: an initializing module, a new port processing module or a deleted port processing module, and a forwarding port search module. In the case of adding or deleting a port, only the affected service sub-flows are operated, thus minimizing the impact.

  • Patent number: 8085853
Abstract: A video decoding and transcoding method and system, which decodes, displays and transcodes a video stream. When a previous frame is completely decoded, a decoding procedure checks whether a frame buffer assigned is usable. When the frame buffer is usable, a current frame is decoded to produce a decoded frame and temporarily store the decoded frame in the frame buffer, and a frame flag corresponding to the frame buffer is set. When a previous field is completely displayed, a displaying procedure checks whether the frame buffer temporarily stores the decoded frame. When the frame buffer temporarily stores the decoded frame, the decoded frame is read and displayed. When the previous frame is completely decoded, a transcoding procedure checks whether the frame buffer temporarily stores the decoded frame. When the frame buffer temporarily stores the decoded frame, the decoded frame is read and transcoded.

  • Patent number: 8081630
Abstract: A cascade system of network units includes forwarding units which have external ports, a communication fabric connecting the units and at least one processing unit which needs no forwarding database. The processing unit may perform a security operation such as intrusion prevention or encryption. Each forwarding unit on receipt of a packet performs a look-up to determine an egress port, to determine whether the packet must be diverted to a processing unit, to provide the packet with a first forwarding instruction identifying the egress port uniquely within the system and a second forwarding instruction identifying a diversion port by which the packet can reach the processing unit and to set an order field which determines which of the forwarding instructions shall be performed first. The processing unit is operative on receipt of the packet by way of the diversion port to change the order field to specify that the packet should now be sent to the egress port.

  • Patent number: 8059610
Abstract: A method and apparatus for implementing hybrid automatic repeat request (H-ARQ) in a multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) wireless communication system are disclosed. A transmitter transmits at least two data packets via two or more antennas. If at least one of the data packets is not successfully transmitted, the transmitter retransmits the data packets while rearranging the data packets in an orthogonal spreading manner. Alternatively, the transmitter may retransmit only the unsuccessfully transmitted data packet along with a new data packet which replaces a successfully transmitted data packet. The unsuccessfully transmitted data packet may simply be repeated without changing its format. When only the unsuccessfully transmitted data packet is retransmitted along with the new data packet, the transmissions may be combined to recover the retransmitted data packet and the new data packet simultaneously.

  • Patent number: 8059665
Abstract: Systems and methods for obtaining location information for a communication station in a first domain by a communication station in a second domain are provided. The communication station in the second domain embeds a location request message in a message formatted according to a first communication protocol, and transmits the message formatted according to the first communication protocol to a proxy server. The proxy server removes the embedded request message and forwards it to a location server, which is located in the first domain. The proxy server receives a location response message and embeds it in another message formatted according to the first communication protocol. The proxy server then transmits the another message formatted according to the first communication protocol to the communication station in the second domain, which can remove the embedded location response message.

Abstract: A reception device is able to receive packets in a communication network comprising at least two stations. The device is capable of receiving packets containing samples of the network which originate from data sampled every period Tsmp, where Tsmp emanates from a time base synchronized on all the stations of the said network; regenerating a counting ramp with the aid of a loop receiving the samples and furthermore delivering local samples every period Tsmp and a clock. The phase-locked loop comprises: a samples comparator comparing the samples and the local samples and delivering an error signal; a corrector receiving the signal and delivering a corrected error signal, the corrector having a static gain equal to 1; a digital oscillator receiving the corrected error signal and delivering the clock, which has a frequency dependent on the signal and is proportional to a gain.
