  • Patent number: 5092757
Abstract: A single continuous dough sheet is conveyed by a conveyor up an incline to a dough tension and drive system. In the system, the dough sheet passes around a lower drive roller, around an intermediate drive roller, and around an upper drive roller. The dough sheet extends at a downward angle to an idler roller which directs the dough sheet generally vertically downward in a flat condition. A wishbone pushing element having a rounded V-shape forms the first face of the dough sheet into a generally V-shape having two wings. The wings of the V-shape are then guided by an aligning element such as laterally spaced rollers which roll on the opposite face of the wings to form a folded, two-ply continuous dough sheet.

  • Patent number: 5091124
Abstract: A high tonnage reaction injection molding (RIM) press has fixed and movable platens for clamping a composite mold therebetween at a closed mold position. A plurality of high pressure hydraulic cylinders are mounted on a carrier for the movable platen, and a locking mechanism having a plurality of incrementally spaced locking positions is effective to lock the carrier selectively at said positions. A pair of low power hydraulic piston-cylinder assemblies connected with the carrier adjacent to its opposite ends move the carrier and movable platen to the closed position. Short stroke connecting rods operated by the high pressure cylinders are forced independently of each other into high tonnage engagement with the movable platen at a plurality of locations within the area of the composite mold to clamp the latter between the platens and positively seal its junctions, whereupon a RIM mix head injects the high pressure reactive chemicals into the sealed mold.

  • Patent number: 5090361
Abstract: A plurality of paint spray guns are directed substantially perpendicularly toward respective vertically divided surfaces of a side panel of a workpiece such as an automotive body. The paint spray guns are spaced in a direction in which the workpiece is delivered and being disposed at different heights, respectively. Paint sprays are ejected from the paint spray guns toward the workpiece which is being delivered in the direction. Simultaneously, the paint spray guns are displaced back and forth perpendicularly to the direction and substantially parallel to the surfaces of the side panel to coat the surfaces respectively with the paint spray guns, thereby coating the side panel.

  • Patent number: 5078585
Abstract: An apparatus is provided for producing a dough roll by rolling up a dough piece. The apparatus has a moving means that includes a holding roller and an endless belt supply device, and a rolling up mechanism having upper and lower endless belt devices. The belt of the upper endless belt device moves rearwardly, and the belt of the lower endless belt device moves forwardly at a speed higher than that of the upper endless belt device. When a dough piece is fed to the apparatus the leading end begins to be rolled at the upstream ends of the upper and lower endless belt devices while its trailing end stays between the belt of the endless belt supply device and the holding roller. Therefore, the leading end moves at a speed which equals the difference between the speeds of the upper and lower endless belt devices while the trailing end moves at the same moving speed as that of the belt of the endless belt supply device.

  • Patent number: 5078586
Abstract: An arrangement for securing a die to a die holder for use as a molding die in an injection molding machine permits the die to be oriented on the die holder in a number of different angularly rotated positions. Clamping bolts secured to the die extend perpendicularly of a contacting plane between the die and die holder and project into corresponding holes in the die holder. Slides are provided in passageways in the die holder with the passageways extending parallel to the contacting plane. The slides are displaceable in the passageways into securing and clamping engagement with the clamping bolts. The slides are wedge-shaped and inter-engage corresponding wedge-shaped recesses in the outer surface of the clamping bolts. The slides can be displaced by actuating members. Hydraulic piston cylinder units can be used as the actuating members for holding the slides in the clamped position during operation.

  • Patent number: 5076774
Abstract: Apparatus for forming three dimensional shaped webs. The apparatus controls the flow of entraining air for an air laid web by restricting passage of the air through selected zones of a condensing surface. By limiting the open area in a zone of a suction plate the amount of fibers condensed over the zone is reduced permitting control of location of and amount of deposit. The duct work defining the conduit for the entraining air may also be shaped or provided with blocks to prevent scavenging of fibers which have already been deposited.

  • Patent number: 5074242
Abstract: An air knife formed of a plurality of independently controllable pressure chambers for permitting gas in an assortment of differential pressures to be simultaneously discharged from separate segmental portions along the length of the air knife nozzle in order to produce an essentially uniform and desired coating thickness on a continuously moving and continuously coated workpiece regardless of strip thickness, width, camber, and velocity. The air knife includes a plurality of baffles positioned inside the barrel of the air knife for dividing the barrel into at least three distinct pressure chambers. The baffles are adjustably positionable along the length of the barrel in order to establish the desired segmental lengths along the air knife nozzle from which the differentially pressurized gas is discharged from the air knife. In the preferred embodiment, a computer continuously adjusts and controls the pressure in each chamber, and the position of air knife with respect to the workpiece.
