Patent number: 5092757Abstract: A single continuous dough sheet is conveyed by a conveyor up an incline to a dough tension and drive system. In the system, the dough sheet passes around a lower drive roller, around an intermediate drive roller, and around an upper drive roller. The dough sheet extends at a downward angle to an idler roller which directs the dough sheet generally vertically downward in a flat condition. A wishbone pushing element having a rounded V-shape forms the first face of the dough sheet into a generally V-shape having two wings. The wings of the V-shape are then guided by an aligning element such as laterally spaced rollers which roll on the opposite face of the wings to form a folded, two-ply continuous dough sheet.Type: GrantFiled: May 13, 1991Date of Patent: March 3, 1992Assignee: General Mills, Inc.Inventors: Steven A. Patent number: 5091124Abstract: A high tonnage reaction injection molding (RIM) press has fixed and movable platens for clamping a composite mold therebetween at a closed mold position. A plurality of high pressure hydraulic cylinders are mounted on a carrier for the movable platen, and a locking mechanism having a plurality of incrementally spaced locking positions is effective to lock the carrier selectively at said positions. A pair of low power hydraulic piston-cylinder assemblies connected with the carrier adjacent to its opposite ends move the carrier and movable platen to the closed position. Short stroke connecting rods operated by the high pressure cylinders are forced independently of each other into high tonnage engagement with the movable platen at a plurality of locations within the area of the composite mold to clamp the latter between the platens and positively seal its junctions, whereupon a RIM mix head injects the high pressure reactive chemicals into the sealed mold.Type: GrantFiled: January 22, 1991Date of Patent: February 25, 1992Assignee: The Dow Chemical CompanyInventor: Paul Zakich

Patent number: 5078585Abstract: An apparatus is provided for producing a dough roll by rolling up a dough piece. The apparatus has a moving means that includes a holding roller and an endless belt supply device, and a rolling up mechanism having upper and lower endless belt devices. The belt of the upper endless belt device moves rearwardly, and the belt of the lower endless belt device moves forwardly at a speed higher than that of the upper endless belt device. When a dough piece is fed to the apparatus the leading end begins to be rolled at the upstream ends of the upper and lower endless belt devices while its trailing end stays between the belt of the endless belt supply device and the holding roller. Therefore, the leading end moves at a speed which equals the difference between the speeds of the upper and lower endless belt devices while the trailing end moves at the same moving speed as that of the belt of the endless belt supply device.Type: GrantFiled: September 15, 1989Date of Patent: January 7, 1992Assignee: Rheon Automatic Machinery Co., Ltd.Inventors: Michio Morikawa, Toru Watanabe

Patent number: 5074242Abstract: An air knife formed of a plurality of independently controllable pressure chambers for permitting gas in an assortment of differential pressures to be simultaneously discharged from separate segmental portions along the length of the air knife nozzle in order to produce an essentially uniform and desired coating thickness on a continuously moving and continuously coated workpiece regardless of strip thickness, width, camber, and velocity. The air knife includes a plurality of baffles positioned inside the barrel of the air knife for dividing the barrel into at least three distinct pressure chambers. The baffles are adjustably positionable along the length of the barrel in order to establish the desired segmental lengths along the air knife nozzle from which the differentially pressurized gas is discharged from the air knife.
