A tool transfer mechanism transfers the next-process tool positioned in the tool takeout position or the tool delivery position to a tool changing position. A tool changing mechanism changes a process-completed tool loaded on a tool post body with the next-process tool positioned in the tool changing position. The tool transfer mechanism comprises a transfer arm pivotally disposed between the tool delivery position and the tool changing position. A tool transfer pot is coupled to a front-end portion of the transfer arm and serves to support the next-process tool.

Laterally space apart column guides (17) affixed to the housing (11) are aligned and sized to slidingly engage the columns (12). A handle is formed in the housing (11) between the front and rear column guides (17). A drive motor affixed in the housing has an armature shaft which is rotatable about an axis being substantially the horizontal axis of the housing (11).

    Abstract: A cable finishing and testing machine incorporates an electrical resistance testing station in a single automated process. The cable finishing and testing machine utilizes a conveyor belt to keep a terminated cable in an outstretched orientation as a trailing terminal of the terminated cable laterally transfers from one processing station to the next. A free or leading terminal of the terminated cable, being in a known sliding orientation upon the belt, is easily located and electrically engaged by a pick-up clamp device. A first indexing station electrically engages the trailing terminal and the electrical resistance of the terminated cable is measured. If the terminated cable tests bad, the terminated cable is automatically transferred to a second indexing station where it is destroyed and scrapped.

The outer surface of the taper cone is tapered at an angle equal to that at which the wall surface of a taper hole formed in a spindle of a machine tool is tapered. The inner surface of the taper cone and the outer surface of the shank portion are equally tapered at an angle smaller than the angle at which the outer surface of the taper cone is tapered. Through drawing of the holder body, the taper cone expands radially to thereby be tightly held within the taper hole. A spacer is bonded to the end face of the spindle so as to eliminate a gap which is formed between the flange portion and a spindle.
