  • Publication number: 20240071190
Abstract: A security system can use video analytics and/or other input parameters to identify a theft event. Optionally, the security system can take remedial action in response. For example, the security system can use video analytics to determine that a person has reached into a shelf multiple times at a rate above a threshold, which can indicate that a thief is quickly removing items from the shelf. The security system can also use video analytics to determine that a person has reached into a shelf via a sweeping action, which can indicate that a thief is gathering and removing a large quantity of items from the shelf in one motion. In response, the security system can alert security personnel, cause a speaker to output an audible message in the target area, flag portions of the video relating to the theft event, activate or ready other sensors or systems, and/or the like.

Abstract: A system can use a video analytic algorithm and/or other input parameters to identify an event (e.g., theft). For example, the security system can use video analytics to determine that a person has reached into a shelf multiple times at a rate above a threshold, which can indicate that a thief is quickly removing items from the shelf. The system can include a VR viewer to provide virtual reality viewing of the area where an event was identified. The system can use Lidar for identifying events and/or for monitoring an area.

  • Patent number: 11914154
Abstract: Intelligent application of reserves to transactions are described. In an example, server(s) associated with a payment processing service receive, from a point-of-sale (POS) device operated by a merchant, transaction data associated with a payment transaction between the merchant and a customer. Based on a predictive model, the server(s) can determine a level of risk associated with the merchant and/or the payment transaction and can determine a portion of the transaction to withhold from a settlement amount of the payment transaction based at least in part on the level of risk. The portion can be deposited into a reserves account associated with the payment processing service to satisfy costs associated with chargeback requests.

  • Patent number: 11916251
Abstract: A multi-cell rechargeable energy storage system (RESS) includes a plurality of battery cells organized into battery modules and a first enclosure configured to house the battery modules. The RESS also includes a first vent arranged on the first enclosure and configured to direct air from inside the first enclosure to an environment external to the first enclosure. The RESS additionally includes a second vent arranged on the first enclosure and configured to direct air into the first enclosure from the environment external to the first enclosure. The RESS further includes a phase-change material (PCM) device arranged on the second vent and configured to melt in response to at least one of the battery modules experiencing a thermal runaway event. In combination with the first vent, the PCM generates crossflow ventilation through the first enclosure to cool the battery modules therein and mitigate thermal runaway.

  • Patent number: 11915329
Abstract: An online agricultural system manages and optimizes interactions of entities within the system to enable the execution of transaction and the transportation of crop products. The online agricultural system accesses historic and environmental data describing factors that may impact crop product transactions and/or transportation to determine market prices for crop products and crop product transportation. Responsive to receiving a request from an entity, the online agricultural system determines an optimal transaction for the entity, such as a price for selling a crop product, an available crop product for purchase, or a transportation opportunity to transport a crop product.

  • Patent number: 11905479
Abstract: Fuel oil compositions, and methods for blending such fuel oil compositions, to enhance initial compatibility and longer term stability when such fuel oil compositions are blended to meet IMO 2020 low sulfur fuel oil requirements (ISO 8217). In one or more embodiments, asphaltenic resid base stocks are blended with high aromatic slurry oil to facilitate initial compatibility such that low sulfur cutter stocks, e.g., vacuum gas oil and/or cycle oil, may be further blended therein to cut sulfur content while maintaining longer term stability. These fuel oil compositions are economically advantageous when used as marine low sulfur fuel oils because greater concentrations of high viscosity resids are present in the final blend.

  • Patent number: 11893553
Abstract: Systems, methods, and computer-readable storage media of exchanging digital assets using a public key cryptography framework. One method includes storing a plurality of digital assets on an internal ledger, and receiving a signed exchange request signed by a private key of a public and private key pair associated with a digital asset on the internal ledger, wherein the signed exchange request includes a destination address of an inter-provider ledger. The method further includes providing, to the inter-provider ledger, a public key of the public and private key pair based on interfacing with the destination address of the inter-provider ledger via a first API, and determining, from the inter-provider ledger, the signed exchange request was verified. The method further includes updating the internal ledger by removing the public and private key pair, and updating a central ledger by interfacing with a central address of the central ledger via a second API.
