  • Publication number: 20180063782
Abstract: Context-based coordinated data retrieval for mobile devices is provided. An interface between application code of a mobile device and an operating system of the mobile device receives a declarative language based data-retrieval request made by the application code for data from an I/O device of the mobile device. Based on operating context of the mobile device, opportunistic coordination rule(s) are selected from a local rules cache, the rule(s) representative of at least one power-saving option for retrieving data for responding to the request. The rule(s) are evaluated to determine how to retrieve data for responding to the request, and action(s) are performed based on the evaluating, the action(s) including responding to the request.

  • Publication number: 20180063715
Abstract: An access control application for mobile devices is provided. The access control application may be configured to generate a set of security tasks based at least in part on information corresponding to a user's interactions with the mobile device. An unlock screen of the mobile device may be triggered and security tasks from the generated set of security tasks may be displayed through a user interface of the mobile device. The user's response to the security tasks may be obtained and a confidence score may be calculated, based at least in part on the response. The access control application may then determine, based at least in part on the score and one or more attributes of the environment, whether to unlock the mobile device or prompt the user to provide an additional response to another security task.

  • Publication number: 20180063003
Abstract: Systems, methods, and computer-readable media are provided for enforcing policy for upstream (e.g., traffic from an endpoint to the physical network layer or hardware fabric of a data center) flood traffic (e.g., broadcast, unknown unicast, or multicast traffic) originating from a virtual endpoint via a network fabric. In one embodiment, upstream flood traffic can be transmitted using a special multicast group to which only elements of the data center fabric (e.g., physical switches, routers) are subscribed. That is, upstream flood traffic is assigned to the special multicast group, resulting in unintended endpoints not receiving the flood traffic. However, the hardware fabric receives the flood traffic and will then enforce applicable policies to route the packets to intended endpoints.

  • Patent number: 9902909
Abstract: Hydroprocessing facilities may operate for extended periods of time before detection of mercury in the inlet facilities, as mercury adsorbs onto the metallic pipelines used to transport the hydrocarbon fluids, e.g., gas, produced waters, from the wells to processing facilities (“flowlines”). Once the pipelines become “saturated” with mercury, mercury will breakthrough and be detected at the inlet facilities. A mercury management/control scheme is disclosed wherein a chemical treatment step using aqueous sulfidic solution is integrated into a progressive pigging plan to clean the pipeline, managing mercury accumulation in the pipeline for a reduced mercury concentration in the fluid exiting the flowlines.

  • Patent number: 9903935
Abstract: A wireless device comprising: a wireless interface for communicating with a network of reference nodes, and a location module configured to obtain a measurement of a respective signal communicated between the wireless interface and each of a plurality of said reference nodes. The location module is also supplied with a respective set of transformed coordinates for each of said plurality of reference nodes, transformed relative to their actual physical coordinates. Using said signal measurements and the transformed coordinates of said plurality of reference nodes, the wireless device then submits information indicative of a transformed location of the wireless device to an interpretation function. Based on the interpretation function, the wireless device is thereby able to access functionality relating to the physical location of the mobile terminal.

  • Publication number: 20180052994
Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed for associating an entity with a risk score that may indicate a security threat associated with the entity's activity. An exemplary method may involve monitoring the activity of a subset of the set of entities (e.g., entities included in a watch list) by executing a search query against events indicating the activity of the subset of entities. The events may be associated with timestamps and may include machine data. Executing the search query may produce search results that pertain to activity of a particular entity from the subset. The search results may be evaluated based on a triggering condition corresponding to the statistical baseline. When the triggering condition is met, a risk score for the particular entity may be updated. The updated risk score may be displayed to a user via a graphical user interface (GUI).

  • Publication number: 20180052961
Abstract: According to embodiments illustrated herein, there is provided a system for predicting a health condition of a patient. The system further includes one or more processors configured to separately cluster data points from a set of medical records associated with a first class of patients and a second class of patients. A similarity value of each of the clustered data points with respect to a pre-selected subset of data points that represents landmark points may be determined, using a parameterized similarity measure. One or more classifiers are trained using the determined similarity value of each data point. The trained one or more classifiers are adapted to learn one or more parameters of the parameterized similarity measure during the training. An occurrence of the health condition of the patient may be predicted based on the trained one or more classifiers and one or more medical records of the patient.
