  • Patent number: 10171316
Abstract: A method, system and computer program product for managing pattern contents across multiple racks. The workload usage characteristics of the pattern contents on a primary rack in a domain of racks are collected based on monitoring the workload usage of the pattern contents in the pattern definition and in the deployed pattern. Furthermore, information regarding use of the pattern definition, the deployed pattern and the pattern contents by users (“human interaction usage patterns”) is collected based on monitoring the human interaction usage patterns. The pattern contents are then ranked based on analyzing the collected workload usage characteristics and analyzing the collected information regarding human interaction usage patterns. Once the pattern contents are ranked, those contents that are highly ranked are deemed to be more likely to be utilized in the pattern and therefore are the contents that are copied from the primary rack to the other racks of the domain.

  • Patent number: 10171549
Abstract: A method for event notification. In one embodiment, the method includes a computer processor identifying a profile of a first user, wherein the profile of the first user includes one or more profile elements. The method further includes identifying a plurality of users having a corresponding profile that includes at least one profile element in common with the identified profile of the first user. The method further includes identifying a computer network accessible resource. The method further includes determining an increase in activity of the identified computer network accessible resource by the identified plurality of users. The method further includes communicating a notification to the first user, wherein the communicated notification provides an indication of the determined increase in activity of the identified computer network accessible resource by the identified plurality of users.

  • Patent number: 10169645
Abstract: A method, system and computer program product for ensuring a desired distribution of images in a multimedia document (e.g., yearbook, slideshow). A desired distribution of facial signatures in a multimedia document to be created by the user is received. Upon receiving an image to be added to the multimedia document by the user, a facial signature for a face detected in the image is generated. The current number of instances of the facial signature in the multimedia document is then determined. A determination is then made as to whether the current number of instances of the facial signature meets the desired distribution. An indication is then provided to the user as to whether the current number of instances of the facial signature meets or does not meet the desired distribution. In this manner, the user can ensure a desired distribution of images in the multimedia document.

  • Patent number: 10169183
Abstract: Diagnosing faults in a hardware appliance. Information is read by a hand-held reader from one or more contactless tags associated with one or more components in a hardware appliance. One or more component faults and/or issues are identified based on the read information. A query is formed based on the identified one or more component faults and/or issues. A diagnostic database in the hand-held reader is queried, based on the formed query, and one or more query results are displayed in a ranked order on a display of the hand-held reader. In one aspect of the embodiments, the information read from the one or more contactless tags includes a pointer to a datastore in one of the one or more components. An ad hoc wireless network connection is established with the hardware appliance, and information in the datastore is downloaded over the connection.

  • Publication number: 20180349681
Abstract: A method, system and computer program product for ensuring a desired distribution of images in a multimedia document among different demographic groups. Demographic criteria (e.g., age) is received to form demographic groups of members of an organization. Demographic information along with interests of the members are retrieved. Such member data is analyzed within the constraints of the demographic criteria to generate a statistical distribution of members of the organization that forms an initially desired distribution of content of the multimedia document among the demographic groups of the organization. An indication is then provided to the user regarding whether the current distribution of the content of the multimedia document among the demographic groups of the organization satisfies or does not satisfy the desired distribution of content among the demographic groups. In this manner, the user can ensure a desired distribution of content in the multimedia document among different demographic groups.

  • Publication number: 20180350320
Abstract: This disclosure provides systems, methods, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on computer-readable media, for controlling a display screen brightness level for an electronic device. In one embodiment, the electronic device receives a plurality of ambient light levels from a plurality of light sensors. At least a first ambient light level is received from a wearable device separate from the first device. The electronic device determines an aggregate ambient light level based, at least in part, on the plurality of ambient light levels. The electronic device adjusts a display screen brightness level of a display in the first device based, at least in part, on the aggregate ambient light level.

  • Patent number: 10146563
Abstract: Using a metadata of a layer, a prediction factor including a level of participation of the layer in a set of container images is computed. Each container image includes a corresponding set of layers and is usable to configure a container in a container-based virtualized data processing environment. Using a set of levels of participation corresponding to a set of layers, and using a condition in a prediction algorithm, a subset of layers that have to be pre-provisioned at a node is predicted. The subset of layers is adjusted, to form an adjusted subset of layers, by looking ahead at a container requirement of a workload that is planned for processing at a future time. The adjusted subset of layers is caused to be provisioned on the node prior to the future time.

  • Publication number: 20180341681
Abstract: Aspects relate to improving search results based on a search history. Searches performed by a user are monitored to collect search data. The search data is categorized according to search terms, search sites, and result satisfactions to form the search history. A search request that includes one or more search terms related to at least one of the search terms in the search history is received. The search request is modified to increase a predicted satisfaction level of the user with results of the received search request. The modifying is based on contents of the received search request and the search history. A search is performed based on the modified search request.

  • Publication number: 20180341381
Abstract: A method, system and computer program product for facilitating access to a resource represented in an image at a later time. A screen capture of an image displayed on a computing device is implemented. Metadata, including the resource location, resource navigation and positional metadata, regarding the source data of the screen capture image is generated. The generated metadata is then embedded into the screen capture image. The screen capture image with the embedded metadata is then transmitted to a different user. By embedding the metadata into the screen capture image, the user receiving the screen capture image will be able to reproduce the state of the source environment when the image was captured using the embedded metadata thereby opening the resource represented in the image.

  • Patent number: 10142445
Abstract: A publication tool, and methods of use thereof, for publishing user created content as well as republishing content created by others to a social media network. The publication tool incorporates and uses analytic data from a plurality of data sources to identify and evaluate relationships between the user of the social media network and members of social media networks who subscribe to view the content published by the user on the social media network. The publication tool predicts the likelihood that a subscriber of the social media network will publish or share the same content as the user and if the publication tool predicts that the same content will be published by the user and the subscriber, the publication tool will publish the content on the social media network as a joint publication which can be viewed by all common subscribers shared between the user and the subscriber.

  • Publication number: 20180332092
Abstract: There are provided a system, a method and a computer program product for controlling one or more media files in a mobile device. The system predicts a future usage of the media files. The system ranks each media file according to a likelihood that the each media file is processed at a time and a location associated with the predicted future usages. The system preemptively downloads the media files to a local data storage device of the mobile device, according to the ranking. There are also provided a system, a method and a computer program product for using one or more networks for a mobile device. The mobile device downloads an amount of data while the mobile device is connected to the first pre-determined wireless network. The mobile device configures certain applications in the mobile device to use the second pre-determined wireless network.

  • Publication number: 20180331822
Abstract: In an approach to securing data using visual hashing, one or more computer processors receive a user access request for hashed image. The one or more computer processors identify one or more access request parameters for the hashed image. The one or more computer processors determine whether the user access request for the hashed image meets the one or more access request parameters. Responsive to determining that the user access request for the hashed image meets the one or more access request parameters, the one or more computer processors identify one or more user access permissions. The one or more computer processors prepare a modified image of the hashed image corresponding to the identified one or more user access permissions. The one or more computer processors send the modified image of the hashed image corresponding to the one or more user access permissions to a requesting user.
