  • Publication number: 20190178659
Abstract: Auxiliary navigational assistance is provided by determining, by one or more processors, that a user traveling along a specified travel route with the assistance of a navigation system can use additional navigational assistance at a particular region of the specified travel route. Based on the determining, the one or more processors assign an unmanned vehicle to assist the user in traveling through the particular region along the specified travel route. Further, the one or more processors provide one or more auxiliary instructions to the user's navigation system directing the user to reference the unmanned vehicle within the particular region to assist the user in traveling through the particular region along the specified travel route. In operation, the particular region overlaps only a portion of the specified travel route.

  • Patent number: 10320415
Abstract: Aspects of dynamic data compression selection are presented. In an example method, as uncompressed data chunks of a data stream are compressed, at least one performance factor affecting selection of one of multiple compression algorithms for the uncompressed data chunks of the data stream may be determined. Each of the multiple compression algorithms may facilitate a different expected compression ratio. One of the multiple compression algorithms may be selected separately for each uncompressed data chunk of the data stream based on the at least one performance factor. Each uncompressed data chunk may be compressed using the selected one of the multiple compression algorithms for the uncompressed data chunk.

  • Publication number: 20190173221
Abstract: An electrical connector includes a housing and a terminal position assurance (TPA) member. The housing defines multiple cavities that extend between mating and cable ends of the housing, and are oriented parallel to a cavity axis. The housing holds electrical terminals within the cavities for electrically connecting to mating contacts of a mating connector. The TPA member is mounted to the cable end of the housing and movable relative to the housing between an unlocked position and a locked position. The TPA member moves from the unlocked position to the locked position along an actuation axis that is perpendicular to the cavity axis. The TPA member includes ledges that protrude into the cavities of the housing and into corresponding retreat paths of the terminals when the TPA member is in the locked position to block retreat of the terminals towards the cable end of the housing.

  • Publication number: 20190165944
Abstract: Providing authentication of a device includes determining whether a received passcode entry matches an authorized passcode stored in device memory and when it does not match, executing a notification to indicate that the received passcode is an incorrect passcode and requesting entry of another passcode. In response to determining that a consecutive threshold number of received passcodes do not match an authorized passcode entry stored in the device memory, the device determines whether the threshold number of received passcodes meets a predetermined quality threshold. In response to determining that the threshold number of received passcodes meets the predetermined quality threshold, an alert is transmitted to an authentication service. The device then receives a partial authentication response from the authentication service, and based on the partial authentication response, the device uses an alternate data protection rule for passcode authentication.

  • Publication number: 20190138829
Abstract: The disclosed technology for building an edge convolutional neural network (CNN) system for IoT includes training on-site processors to analyze image data and identify motorized vehicles, bicycles and people in near-real-time, using a big cloud CNN, a small cloud CNN and an on-site CNN. At least five hundred site-specific images from cameras are analyzed using the big cloud CNN to produce a machine-generated training set that includes an image that has regions, and for each region, coordinates of bounding boxes for objects in the region, and classification of contents of the bounding boxes as a motorized vehicle, bicycle or person; and the training set. The machine-generated training set gets used to train the small cloud CNN; and coefficients from the trained small cloud CNN get transferred to the on-site CNN, thereby configuring the on-site CNN to recognize motorized vehicles, bicycles and people in images from the cameras in near-real-time.

  • Publication number: 20190104508
Abstract: A method, apparatus and system for transmitting control plane messages in a communication network. Messaging is between two logical nodes, e.g. gNBs. Logical nodes include multiple networked sub-entities. Multiple sub-interfaces couple a pair of logical nodes. One sub-interface is selected based on keys associated with content of a message. Key-to-sub-interface associations are stored in memory. The keys may be identifiers included in the control plane message, such as UE IDs, Cell IDs, etc. Packets carrying the control plane message are configured and transmitted using the selected sub-interface. A key-to-sub-interface association may be established or updated when a control plane message is received via the sub-interface and includes the key, or in response to a rejection message specifying the correct sub-interface to use. A middle box entity may be provided in a logical node for each sub-interface and configured to act at least initially to forward messages to appropriate sub-entities.

  • Patent number: 10229406
Abstract: Methods, systems, and machine readable medium are provided for autonomous item identification in an environment including a mobile computational device and a container. One or more sensors are disposed at the container to sense a selected item being placed in the container. In response to sensing the selected item being placed in the container, a location of the container is determined using a positioning system. One or more physical characteristics of the selected item is sensed via the one or more sensors at the container. A set of stored characteristics is retrieved from a database for available items proximate to the location of the container. An identification code for the selected item is identified based on a comparison of the one or more physical characteristics of the selected item with the stored characteristics retrieved from the database of the available items based on the location of the container.

  • Patent number: 10225781
Abstract: Spoofed radio control signaling instructions can be used to dynamically adapt management of the radio interface by radio control processors. More specifically, spoofed radio control signaling can be communicated to an accelerator application instantiated on a device-side of a radio control processor. The accelerator application can pre-process the spoofed radio control signaling before forwarding the instructions to a generic radio control processor. In one example, the generic radio control processor has a universal configuration that is capable of being adapted to different telecommunication protocols based on the spoofed radio control signaling. In another example, the spoofed radio control channel signaling is translated into control instructions at the accelerator application, which are forwarded to the generic radio control processor. The control instructions govern processing of downlink data channel transmissions and/or specify parameters of uplink transmissions.

  • Patent number: 10218747
Abstract: A system to identify and leverage geographically proximate client devices to reduce network traffic associated with facilitating digital collaboration sessions in a real-world environment. Embodiments enable a user to initiate a digital collaboration session and to limit participation in the digital collaboration session to client devices that are physically located within a geofence (e.g., a virtual geographic boundary). Other client devices that are located within the geofence are identified and enabled to join the digital collaboration session. participants may each use their own client device to contribute to the digital collaboration session. Participants can save individual segments of the digital collaboration session by indicating an interest immediately after the segments occur. Client devices then upload data for the segment for enhancement.
