  • Patent number: 10506560
Abstract: A method, apparatus and system for transmitting control plane messages in a communication network. Messaging is between two logical nodes, e.g. gNBs. Logical nodes include multiple networked sub-entities. Multiple sub-interfaces couple a pair of logical nodes. One sub-interface is selected based on keys associated with content of a message. Key-to-sub-interface associations are stored in memory. The keys may be identifiers included in the control plane message, such as UE IDs, Cell IDs, etc. Packets carrying the control plane message are configured and transmitted using the selected sub-interface. A key-to-sub-interface association may be established or updated when a control plane message is received via the sub-interface and includes the key, or in response to a rejection message specifying the correct sub-interface to use. A middle box entity may be provided in a logical node for each sub-interface and configured to act at least initially to forward messages to appropriate sub-entities.

  • Patent number: 10501951
Abstract: A wave generating apparatus (100) for generating at least one wave in a surface of a body of water (102) has at least one wave generating object (12, 150) with at least one wave generating surface (13, 152), drive means (108, 110) for causing the wave generating object to oscillate along a path (106), with the wave generating object in contact with the body of water for at least some of the time. When there is a single wave generating object (12, 150), the wave extends away from the wave generating object and when there are multiple wave generating objects (12, 150), the wave generating objects (12, 150) and wave generating surfaces (13, 152) are configured such that substantially all of any waves generated extend away from the wave generating objects.

  • Patent number: 10505996
Abstract: A system to identify and leverage geographically proximate client devices to reduce network traffic associated with facilitating digital collaboration sessions in a real-world environment. Embodiments enable a user to initiate a digital collaboration session and to limit participation in the digital collaboration session to client devices that are physically located within a geofence (e.g., a virtual geographic boundary). Other client devices that are located within the geofence are identified and enabled to join the digital collaboration session. participants may each use their own client device to contribute to the digital collaboration session. Participants can save individual segments of the digital collaboration session by indicating an interest immediately after the segments occur. Client devices then upload data for the segment for enhancement.

  • Patent number: 10481256
Abstract: Example shopping cart corral systems and associated systems and methods are described. The example shopping cart corral system includes a corral structure, a radio-frequency transmitter, a radio-frequency receiver, and a controller coupled to the radio-frequency transmitter and the radio-frequency receiver. The controller estimates a quantity of shopping carts disposed in the shopping cart corral based on at least one property of the reflected radio-frequency signal. An example shopping cart counter system includes an elongated structure, first and second electrical contacts, a power source and a processing device. The power source applies a voltage or an electrical current to the first electrical contact and the shopping carts complete an electrical circuit between the first and second electrical contacts. The processing device estimates the quantity of shopping carts disposed in the elongated structure based on an electrical resistance associated with the shopping carts.

  • Publication number: 20190340932
Abstract: A connected instrument procedure placekeeping system includes a navigation database, a flight deck display, a flight deck processor, and an electronic device. The flight deck processor is in operable communication with the navigation database and the flight deck display and selectively retrieves flight plan data from the navigation database. The flight deck processor causes the flight deck display to render images of an instrument procedure. The electronic device is in operable communication with the flight deck processor and simultaneously renders an image of a published representation of the instrument procedure. One of either the flight deck processor or the electronic device is responsive to user input signals to highlight a waypoint and its associated constraint and the other of the electronic device or the flight deck processor simultaneously highlights the waypoint and its associated constraint for ease of comparison.

  • Patent number: 10432634
Abstract: Methods and systems for use in constraining access to network resources based on notification and compliance requirements. In various examples, an access point or similar device receives and stores notification information (e.g., from a network administrator device) for provision to targeted client devices in a notification message. The access point also receives target criteria for use in identifying target client devices that are accessing or attempting to access network resources via the access point. In some embodiments, access to network resources by a targeted client device is constrained pending completion of a compliance condition requirement associated with a notification message. Various levels of access to network resources may be applied to non-compliant target client devices. Following completion of compliance condition, a target client device is exempted from further receipt of the notification message.

  • Publication number: 20190287056
Abstract: Systems, methods and tools for tracking the amounts of merchandise being displayed or available for sale in a retail environment using measurements of air displacement caused by the movement of customers, employees and shopping carts throughout a retail environment. The disclosed embodiments may position air displacement sensors throughout a store and near the products being offered for sale. As the merchandise is removed by customers, a greater amount of air may be measured. Embodiments of each sensor device may be calibrated with a maximum threshold measurement of air displacement corresponding to the amount of merchandise surrounding the sensor. After enough of the products have been removed from the surrounding proximity of the sensor, the maximum threshold of air displacement may be reached, wherein upon exceeding the maximum threshold of air displacement a signal may be sent alerting employees to restock the specified merchandise proximate to the sensor's location.

  • Patent number: 10417356
Abstract: Features are disclosed for dynamically generating enhanced content showing an item to simulate a physics property of the item via an interaction that will initiate such interactive features. A physics model may be generated to enhance existing content. To generate the physics model, the system analyzes the content such as to detect a feature of the item (e.g., zipper on a clothing item or button on an electronic device item) shown in the content. Some aspects also consider the access device rendering the enhanced content to ensure the enhanced content is appropriately selected and formatted for presentation via the access device.

  • Patent number: 10410171
Abstract: Disclosed is a system and method for using photos of the interior of a retail store to update an inventory database. The inventory management system receives a data capture from a mobile computing device carried by a customer of a retail store. The system sends a data capture request to the mobile computing device, which can include a request for a photo capture. The customer captures an image using the mobile computing device, and sends it to the inventory management system. The inventory management system analyzes the photo, and gleans from the photo inventory information such as products that are in stock, products that are out of stock, where products are located, etc. Photo inventory information obtained from the photo is used to update the inventory database. Each item of inventory data obtained from a photo relieves an employee of the responsibility of obtaining the inventory data.
