  • Publication number: 20190095856
Abstract: Systems and methods for powering sensors on a shelf and using the sensors to detect attributes associated with physical objects are discussed. A handheld device can be coupled to a docking station which can be mounted on a supporting surface on of a shelf for supporting one or more physical objects. Sensors can be disposed on, in or about the supporting surface of the shelf. An electric circuit between the handheld device and the sensors can be powered to selectively energize or de-energize the sensors in response to the docking station coupling with the handheld device.

  • Publication number: 20190080586
Abstract: Methods, systems, and machine readable medium are provided for a detection system for identifying unsafe activity occurring at a shelving unit. A plurality of distance sensors are disposed at a top end of the shelving unit and point downwards towards a bottom end of the shelving unit. The plurality of sensors are configured to detect presence of a person near the shelving unit. An initial height of the person is determined, and a change in height of the person is detected. A processor determined whether the change in height indicates unsafe activity at the shelving unit. If unsafe activity is determined, then an alert is generated.

  • Patent number: 10229406
Abstract: Methods, systems, and machine readable medium are provided for autonomous item identification in an environment including a mobile computational device and a container. One or more sensors are disposed at the container to sense a selected item being placed in the container. In response to sensing the selected item being placed in the container, a location of the container is determined using a positioning system. One or more physical characteristics of the selected item is sensed via the one or more sensors at the container. A set of stored characteristics is retrieved from a database for available items proximate to the location of the container. An identification code for the selected item is identified based on a comparison of the one or more physical characteristics of the selected item with the stored characteristics retrieved from the database of the available items based on the location of the container.

  • Patent number: 10225781
Abstract: Spoofed radio control signaling instructions can be used to dynamically adapt management of the radio interface by radio control processors. More specifically, spoofed radio control signaling can be communicated to an accelerator application instantiated on a device-side of a radio control processor. The accelerator application can pre-process the spoofed radio control signaling before forwarding the instructions to a generic radio control processor. In one example, the generic radio control processor has a universal configuration that is capable of being adapted to different telecommunication protocols based on the spoofed radio control signaling. In another example, the spoofed radio control channel signaling is translated into control instructions at the accelerator application, which are forwarded to the generic radio control processor. The control instructions govern processing of downlink data channel transmissions and/or specify parameters of uplink transmissions.

  • Patent number: 10218747
Abstract: A system to identify and leverage geographically proximate client devices to reduce network traffic associated with facilitating digital collaboration sessions in a real-world environment. Embodiments enable a user to initiate a digital collaboration session and to limit participation in the digital collaboration session to client devices that are physically located within a geofence (e.g., a virtual geographic boundary). Other client devices that are located within the geofence are identified and enabled to join the digital collaboration session. participants may each use their own client device to contribute to the digital collaboration session. Participants can save individual segments of the digital collaboration session by indicating an interest immediately after the segments occur. Client devices then upload data for the segment for enhancement.

In an example method, as uncompressed data chunks of a data stream are compressed, at least one performance factor affecting selection of one of multiple compression algorithms for the uncompressed data chunks of the data stream may be determined. Each of the multiple compression algorithms may facilitate a different expected compression ratio. One of the multiple compression algorithms may be selected separately for each uncompressed data chunk of the data stream based on the at least one performance factor. Each uncompressed data chunk may be compressed using the selected one of the multiple compression algorithms for the uncompressed data chunk.
