In the first state, the chromogenic feature appears with a first optical property that obscures the account identifier, and in the second state. the chromogenic feature appears with a second optical property that reveals the account identifier.

Abstract: Embodiments disclosed herein generally relate to an apparatus for counterfeit detection and a method implementing the same. In one embodiment, as apparatus is disclosed herein. The apparatus includes a first end, a second end, an elongated body, an ink cartridge, a controller, and a trigger. The elongated body extends from the first end to the second end. The elongated body defines a cavity therein. The ink cartridge is disposed in the cavity. The controller is positioned within the cavity. The controller is configured to communicate with at least one computing system remote from the apparatus. The trigger is in electronic communication with the controller. The trigger extends at least partially though the elongated body. The trigger is actionable between a first position and a second position. A change from the first position to the second position transmits an electronic signal to the controller.

A virtual account-linked card may be generated in response to a determination that a physical account-linked card has been forgotten at a card reader and ingested by the card reader. Abstract: A card for storing both emergency information and payment information is disclosed. The card can be used by an emergency responder to retrieve emergency information for the user. The emergency information can enable the emergency responder to better render aid to the user. The card can have one or more processors, a sensor, and a memory in communication with the one or more processors and storing an application thereon. The application can cause the card to receive a request from a user device (e.g., from an emergency medical technician, or EMT) to access emergency information stored in the memory, transmit a security challenge to the user device, authenticate a received response to the security challenge from the user device, and transmit the emergency information to the user device.

The device is configured to sense when a user inserts a card into a card reader and to determine when a user departs or is about to depart from the device without retrieving the card. The device may additionally send a notification to a mobile device associated with the user that reminds the user that he has left a card at the point of sale. In some embodiments, message sent to the user contains a code and, upon entry of the code, the point of sale or card reader device returns the card to the user.

The computing system receives a verification request for a transaction associated with the account. The verification request includes at least a merchant identification code associated with the third party merchant. The computing system determines that the third party merchant is included in at least one safe zone of the one or more safe zones. Based on the determination, the computing system verifies the transaction with the server of the third party merchant.
