  • Publication number: 20170116427
Abstract: Described are a method and system of authorizing software execution on a computing device having a processor, the device storing a production key associated with software authorized for end-user release and storing a pre-release key associated with software not authorized for end-user release. The method includes determining that a signed software image is not signed with the production key; determining that the device has stored in memory thereon a pre-release token, the pre-release token containing data uniquely identifying the device and identifying the pre-release key; validating the pre-release token; and authenticating the signed software image using the pre-release key and, in response, permitting execution of the software image.

  • Publication number: 20170118611
Abstract: Systems, methods, and software can be used to monitor resource access. In some aspect, an electronic device determines that an application attempts to access a resource on the electronic device. The electronic device determines whether the application is operating in a foreground of an operating system (OS) on the electronic device or in a background of the OS on the electronic device. If the application is operating in the foreground, the application is permitted to access the resource. If the application is operating in the background, a notification is generated to indicate that a background application attempts to access a resource.

  • Publication number: 20170118610
Abstract: Systems, methods, and software can be used to detect resource access. In some aspect, a monitoring period for monitoring resource access on an electronic device is determined. A number of accesses to a resource on the electronic device made by an application during the monitoring period is determined. Information associated with at least one access to the resource is outputted on the electronic device.

  • Patent number: 9612185
Abstract: Methods, systems, and computer readable media for using actuated surface-attached posts for assessing biofluid rheology are disclosed. According to one aspect, a method for testing properties of a biofluid specimen includes placing the specimen onto a micropost array having a plurality of microposts extending outwards from a substrate, wherein each micropost includes a proximal end attached to the substrate and a distal end opposite the proximal end, and generating an actuation force in proximity to the micropost array to actuate the microposts, thereby compelling at least some of the microposts to exhibit motion. The method further includes measuring the motion of at least one of the microposts in response to the actuation force and determining a property of the specimen based on the measured motion of the at least one micropost.
