  • Publication number: 20230034896
Abstract: Methods and systems are provided for diagnosing degradation and/or alteration in an evaporative emission control system of a vehicle. In one example, a method for a vehicle may comprise, during a refueling event, detecting presence or absence of a fuel vapor canister coupled to a vent line of the evaporative emission control system of the vehicle based on a response of a hydrocarbon sensor coupled to the vent line. In this way, hydrocarbon emissions may be reduced by identifying vehicles with tampered or degraded evaporative emission control system.

  • Patent number: 11560823
Abstract: Methods and systems are provided for regenerating a particulate filter positioned in an exhaust system of an engine of a vehicle. In one example, a method comprises obtaining a first air flow in an intake of the engine and obtaining a second air flow in the intake of the engine, where regeneration of the particulate filter is conducted in response to the first air flow differing from the second air flow by at least a threshold amount, where the first air flow and the second air flow comprise air flow routed from the exhaust system to the intake of the engine. In this way, the particulate filter may be regenerated under conditions where a loading state of the particulate filter is not known.

  • Patent number: 11560132
Abstract: Methods and systems are provided for an evaporative emission control system. In one example, a method may include halting a dispensing of fuel to a fuel tank during a refueling event by increasing a backpressure in the fuel tank. The halt to fuel dispensing may be executed based on one or more of an upcoming fuel vapor canister purge event and an estimated fuel vapor canister loading capacity to determine a predicted canister breakthrough. The predicted canister breakthrough may be compared to a threshold to regulate a refueling volume.

  • Patent number: 11524692
Abstract: A ride-share system of other vehicle system employs a profile database having a plurality of user phobia profiles for potential customers. Each of the user phobia profiles identifies one or more respective phobia groups pertaining to a respective user, wherein each phobia group associates a plurality of driving-related phobias which share at least one trigger condition or at least one countermeasure. A vehicle controller is coupled to the profile database which determines a default itinerary for a trip to a destination specified by one of the users. The vehicle controller evaluates the default itinerary for potential interaction with a respective phobia group identified by the phobia profile of the one of the users. The vehicle controller implements an alternate itinerary that mitigates the potential interaction.
