  • Publication number: 20240077570
Abstract: In a wireless network in which beams are transmitted by base stations, a beam relation database may be produced by crowdsourcing known positions of UEs and associated information related to beams received by the UEs at these positions. The beam information, for example, may include a beam identifier and cell identifier, and may further include measured signal parameters, such as Reference Signal Received Power (RSRP) or Reference Signal Received Quality (RSRQ). The beam relation database may be used by a network or the UE to determine a position of a UE based on beams that are detected by the UE. The position fix may be an initial position fix that may be used to generate assistance data for the UE. Additionally, the beam relation database may be used to identify relevant measurement objects in the assistance data based on beams that are detected by the UE.

  • Patent number: 11924799
Abstract: The location of a user equipment may be determined by having the user equipment use a radio carrier and/or a bandwidth part having the highest sub-carrier spacing available to the user equipment. A user equipment may communicate through a plurality of radio carriers, determine a first radio carrier or bandwidth part having a highest sub-carrier spacing, determine a timing advance value associated with the first radio carrier or bandwidth part, and transmit to a location server, the timing advance value.

  • Publication number: 20240073904
Abstract: Systems and methods for X in a wireless communication system are provided. A UE may adjust antenna selections and/or antenna switch timing to account for excessive transmission errors due to antenna switching between SRS and PUSCH transmissions. A UE may monitor CRC error rates, and if PUSCH resources next to SRS resources have higher CRC rates above a threshold, the UE may determine if an RSRP difference between the respective antennas is below a threshold. If the RSRP difference is below the threshold, the UE may determine that the antenna port used for SRS may also be used by PUSCH without substantially detrimentally affecting PUSCH. A UE may also determine which SRS resources occurs adjacent to a PUSCH resource most often and assign that SRS resource to a default antenna which may be used for PUSCH transmission. A UE may also adjust antenna switch timing.

  • Patent number: 11917636
Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) is configured such that sounding reference signal (SRS) is switched among a number of antennas on a number of carriers associated with a default data subscription (DDS). The UE is also configured to receive a signal, scheduled using discontinuous reception (DRX), and associated with a non-default data subscription using at least one of the antennas used by the DDS. The UE determines based on carrier characteristics which resource is used to receive the signal during a DRX cycle. In some aspects, the decision is based on avoiding a conflict between the SRS switching and DRX reception. In further aspects, the decision is based on selecting the carrier contributing least to downlink throughput.

  • Patent number: 11909495
Abstract: A UE may determine use of a sensor or an interface of the UE, and in response, may adjust at least one of a beam selection, a transmission power, an operation mode, or a performance of carrier aggregation for the UE. A base station may receive an indication from the UE that a carrier for which the UE is configured has an effect on performance of a sensor or an interface of the UE. The base station may adjust a configuration of the carrier or adjusting uplink grants for the carrier in response to receiving the indication from the UE.

  • Patent number: 11888610
Abstract: A user equipment (UE) is configured to be connected to a 5G New Radio (NR) network that shares one or more frequency bands using dynamic spectrum sharing (DSS) with a Long Term Evolution (LTE) network that is transmitting LTE positioning reference signal (PRS). The UE may receive LTE PRS rate matching information from the NR network, such as the LTE PRS configuration data or an LTE PRS rate matching pattern. The UE may decode and process NR data signals and control signals transmitted by the NR network while LTE PRS is transmitted by rate matching around the LTE PRS in accordance with the LTE PRS rate matching information. The LTE PRS muting pattern may be adjusted based on NR data or control signals, and the UE may receive and process NR data and control signals transmitted while the LTE PRS is muted.

  • Publication number: 20240015622
Abstract: Techniques to maximize connectivity to a preferred radio access technology (RAT) (e.g., 5G NR) over a less preferred RAT (e.g., 4G LTE) are disclosed. When a user equipment (UE) is camped on a preferred RAT connectivity capable cell (e.g., NR cell, EUTRA dual-connectivity (ENDC) cell), offsets or biases may be applied to delay triggering of a cell reselection. When UE is camped on a non-preferred RAT connectivity capable cell, offset(s) may be applied to accelerate triggering of the cell reselection. When cell reselection is triggered, offsets or biases may be applied to favor reselection to preferred RAT connectivity capable cell over a non-preferred RAT connectivity capable cell.

  • Publication number: 20230410942
Abstract: Disclosed herein are methods of using non-error-propagating phasing techniques in combination with sequencing data obtained through more conventional error-propagating approaches to improve phasing of a genome and correct allele balance signals, which may allow for improved determinations of ploidy status of chromosomal segments. Further disclosed herein are methods of using allele balance and depth of read in combination to make improved ploidy status determinations. The techniques described herein may be used in a minimally invasive manner to make ploidy status determinations for an embryo or fetus and to identify chromosomal instability in tumor DNA.

  • Patent number: 11812340
Abstract: A user equipment (UE) communicating with a first base station via a first radio bearer and a second bases station via a second radio bearer is disclosed. Uplink data transmissions using the radio bearers may be controlled by a threshold. During a positioning session to locate the UE, the UE may modify the threshold to cause the UE to use both the first radio bearer and the second radio bearer. The UE may return the threshold to an original value after the positioning session.

  • Patent number: 11812383
Abstract: During a positioning session, a wake up signal (WUS) configuration for a user equipment (UE) operating in a discontinuous reception (DRX) mode may be adapted to avoid dormant secondary serving cells (SCells) for positioning. The location server, for example, may configure positioning assistance data and scheduling of uplink sounding reference signals (SRS) to exclude SCells that are included in a dormancy list for the UE. The location server, alternatively, may provide to a serving base station supporting a primary serving cell (PCell) for the UE an indication of the SCells to be used for positioning. The SCells may be removed from the dormancy list during the positioning session or may be brought out of dormancy for all or selected monitoring occasions during the positioning session.
