  • Patent number: 11122475
Abstract: Handover criteria for wireless networks are provided. A base station (BS) transmits, to a user equipment (UE), a configuration for at least one measurement event to be used for a handover of the UE from a source cell to one of a set of neighbor cells, wherein the configuration includes at least a configured rank criterion for triggering a measurement report in response to the measurement event. The BS receives, from the UE, the measurement report based on the configuration, the measurement report at least including a measured rank value for one or more reported cells in the set. The BS selects a target cell from the reported cells for the handover based at least on the received measured rank values, and transmits a handover command to the UE for the handover to the selected target.

  • Publication number: 20210267000
Abstract: A user equipment (UE) is configured to be connected to multiple wireless networks, including e.g., a 5G New Radio (NR) network and an Evolved Universal Mobile Telecommunications System (UMTS) Terrestrial Radio Access Network (E-UTRAN). The UE may assign one of the networks with a higher priority for connection. The UE monitors wireless signal metrics to determine if the priority assignment of the networks should be inverted. The UE may monitor the expected data throughput, e.g., determined based on the availability of carrier aggregation, the carrier aggregation order, the multiple in multiple out (MIMO) order, the available bandwidth, E-UTRAN NR—Dual connectivity (ENDC) availability, or quality metrics of wireless signals from one or both wireless networks. The UE may further dynamically select a carrier subscription as the Default Data Subscription (DDS) based on the metrics as well as whether a wireless network associated with a carrier subscription supports ENDC.

  • Publication number: 20210266095
Abstract: A user equipment (UE) is configured to be connected to a 5G New Radio (NR) network that shares one or more frequency bands using dynamic spectrum sharing (DSS) with a Long Term Evolution (LTE) network that is transmitting LTE positioning reference signal (PRS). The UE may receive LTE PRS rate matching information from the NR network, such as the LTE PRS configuration data or an LTE PRS rate matching pattern. The UE may decode and process NR data signals and control signals transmitted by the NR network while LTE PRS is transmitted by rate matching around the LTE PRS in accordance with the LTE PRS rate matching information. The LTE PRS muting pattern may be adjusted based on NR data or control signals, and the UE may receive and process NR data and control signals transmitted while the LTE PRS is muted.

  • Publication number: 20210266753
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. Some wireless communications systems may support dynamic spectrum sharing for multiple radio protocols, such as New Radio and Long Term Evolution. Systems may implement a number of techniques to improve spectrum use by user equipment in dynamically shared frequency spectrums. In some aspects, the network may assign a user equipment to a specific bandwidth part based on a rate matching capability of the user equipment. Additionally or alternatively, the network may activate a specific bandwidth part based on the frequency of handover for a user equipment. In some aspects, the network may support dual registration (e.g., registration in a same frequency spectrum using different radio protocols) for a user equipment operating on a dynamically shared spectrum. To reduce the control overhead for such a user equipment, the network may use a single control channel to schedule data for multiple radio protocols.

  • Patent number: 11017848
Abstract: Embodiments herein provide a Static Random-Access Memory (SRAM) system with a delay tuning circuitry and a delay control circuitry and a method thereof. Delay tuning circuitry in the SRAM system may provide a tuning of reset time in the generation of an internal clock by introducing a delay. The delay is introduced according to a process state of periphery circuitry in the SRAM. A delay control circuitry provides a control over delay in reset time of the internal clock by varying a discharge rate for each of a Dummy Bit Line (DBL) circuitry and Complementary Bit Line Circuitry (CDBL), by connecting a stack of NMOS transistors over discharge NMOS transistors.

  • Patent number: 11006384
Abstract: Bandwidth Parts (BWPs) are used for the transmission and measurement of positioning reference signals during a positioning session. A location server may obtain relevant BWP information, such as the active BWP or a list of configured BWPs, from one or more base stations and/or the user equipment (UE) for the positioning session. The location server may provide assistance data to the UE that is determined based on the BWP information, so that the UE may measure PRS signals from intra-frequency base stations. The location server may further determine a preferred BWP or prohibited BWPs, which may be forwarded to the serving base station to control the BWPs that are used during the positioning session.

  • Publication number: 20210136721
Abstract: A user equipment (UE) enhances positioning performance using Evolved Universal Mobile Telecommunications System (UMTS) Terrestrial Radio Access Network (E-UTRAN) New Radio (NR)—Dual connectivity (EN-DC) based on an indication from the E-UTRAN base station that it is capable of EN-DC, e.g., in the upper layer indication of SIB2. When in idle mode, a UE that supports EN-DC and that has multiple carrier subscriptions may check the availability of EN-DC on both subscriptions that are camped on E-UTRAN base stations and use the subscription with EN-DC when a positioning session is initiated, e.g., from an emergency call. If one subscription is camped on a E-UTRAN base station and the other on an NR base station, the UE may use the E-UTRAN base station if EN-DC is supported or may use the NR base station if EONR and location based services are supported.

  • Publication number: 20210022209
Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may determine that the UE is operating using a first subscriber identity module (SIM) in a non-standalone mode associated with a first radio access technology (RAT) and a second RAT, and that a second SIM has been activated for the UE. The UE may determine, based at least in part on user input, whether to operate in a multi-SIM mode, where both the first SIM and the second SIM are active, or to operate in a single SIM mode where only the first SIM, and not the second SIM, is active. The UE may selectively deactivate the second SIM based at least in part on determining whether to operate in the multi-SIM mode or the single SIM mode. Numerous other aspects are provided.
