  • Patent number: 12290816
Abstract: A system and method facilitates transfers of specimen containers (e.g., vials with caps) between storage cassettes and carrier cassettes. The storage cassettes are designed to be stored in cryogenic refrigerators while the carrier cassettes are designed to be temporarily stored in a portable carrier. Identification information is read from wireless transponders carried by the specimen containers. Visual mappings of the positions of the specimen container in the cassettes is provided. Presence and position of the specimen containers in the cassettes is verified, and alerts of inconsistencies provided along with corrective commands. Inventories of specimen container and even specific specimen holders are provided.

  • Patent number: 12291997
Abstract: A variable area turbine nozzle assembly includes a guide vane including an outer centering pin defining a tab. An inner support ring is spaced radially outward from the guide vane and defines an opening and a protrusion. The protrusion is configured to engage with the tab of the outer centering pin. An outer support ring extends circumferentially around the inner support ring and defines an aperture. The outer support ring has a second coefficient of thermal expansion that is greater than or less than the first coefficient of thermal expansion. At least one linkage joins the inner support ring to the outer support ring and is configured to rotate the inner support ring circumferentially about an axial centerline of the variable area turbine nozzle assembly in response to a change in operational temperature of a combustion gas thus causing the guide vane to rotate.

  • Patent number: 12292212
Abstract: A method of constructing an injection well for a geothermal energy system comprising determining a fracture area of an injection well with a curved wellbore by inputting the curved wellbore path, a set of formation properties, and a fracturing operation, into a fracturing model. The curved wellbore path can promote fracture interference between fracture stresses extending from the injection wellbore. A production model can determine an economic value of the production fluids produced from at least one production well by determining a contact time for the injection fluids to traverse the formation. A design process can iterate the curved wellbore path of the injection well to produce a production fluid with an economic value above a threshold value.

  • Patent number: 12293667
Abstract: Methods for performing operations for improving driver safety across a fleet of vehicles are disclosed. A plurality of safety events pertaining to a driving of a fleet of vehicles by a plurality of drivers are detected. A subset of the events is identified. The subset corresponds to one or more safety events of the plurality of safety events involving one or more vehicles of the fleet of vehicles to which drivers have not been assigned. A user interface is generated for presentation on a client device, the user interface including an interactive user interface element for accessing the subset of the events. One or more user interface elements are provided for accepting or rejecting recommendations for assignments of one of the plurality of drivers to each of the vehicles. • Patent number: 12293919
Abstract: Tin oxide films are used as spacers and hardmasks in semiconductor device manufacturing. In one method, tin oxide layer (e.g., spacer footing) needs to be selectively etched in a presence of an exposed silicon-containing layer, such as SiOC, SiON, SiONC, amorphous silicon, SiC, or SiN. In order to reduce damage to the silicon-containing layer the process involves passivating the silicon-containing layer towards a tin oxide etch chemistry, etching the tin oxide, and repeating passivation and etch in an alternating fashion. For example, passivation and etch can be each performed between 2-50 times. In one implementation, passivation is performed by treating the substrate with an oxygen-containing reactant, activated in a plasma, and the tin oxide etching is performed by a chlorine-based chemistry, such as using a mixture of Cl2 and BCl3.

  • Patent number: 12291126
Abstract: Electrically powered vehicles with redundant power distribution circuits employ inverters and a multi-phase alternating current (AC) motor. An electrically powered vehicle includes batteries, inverters, interphase transformers, and a three-phase AC motor. Each of the inverters generates a three-phase AC input from power supplied by an associated one of the batteries. The interphase transformers generate drive phases for the AC motor from the three-phase AC inputs generated by the inverters.
