  • Patent number: 11638308
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. The method includes identifying that the user equipment (UE) is to use a two-step random access channel (RACH) procedure that includes a first message (e.g., uplink request message) and a second message (e.g., downlink response). The methods include sending, as a first message of the two-step RACH procedure, the uplink request message to a base station, receiving, from the base station, a physical downlink control channel comprising an indication of resources of a broadcast or multicast physical downlink shared channel on which the downlink response is to be received, and receiving the downlink response from the base station on the broadcast or multicast physical downlink shared channel. The physical downlink shared channel may be configured to provide downlink responses for one or multiple UEs.

  • Publication number: 20230117475
Abstract: A network access node including a transceiver coupled to a sidelink receiver user equipment (UE) (or to a sidelink transmitter UE) is disclosed. The network access node may obtain a network access interface discontinuous reception (DRX) slot offset value (or a sidelink interface DRX slot offset value) corresponding to a shift in a network access interface DRX Active state start time (or a sidelink interface DRX Active state start time) of the receiver UE. The shift may configure an alignment of a sidelink interface DRX Active state start time (or the network access interface DRX Active state start time) with the network access interface DRX Active state start time (or the sidelink interface DRX Active state start time). The network access interface DRX (or sidelink interface DRX) slot offset value may be transmitted to the receiver UE.

  • Patent number: 11622409
Abstract: Aspects presented herein may enable a UE to notify a base station about the availability of a relay UE that is not connected to the base station. In one aspect, a first UE or a second UE transmits or receives a relay request of the first UE via sidelink, the first UE being in an RRC connected mode with a base station. The first UE or the second UE receives or transmits, via the sidelink, an indication of relay availability of a second UE in an RRC inactive mode in response to the relay request. • Patent number: 11611916
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. Generally, the described techniques provide for using layer one (L1) or layer two (L2) signaling to indicate a primary cell (PCell) or primary secondary cell (PSCell) to a user equipment (UE). The use of L1 or L2 signaling to indicate a PCell or PSCell may be referred to as L1 or L2 mobility and may lower the latency at the UE associated with transitioning to communicating with the PCell or PSCell. A UE may receive radio resource control (RRC) signaling from a base station indicating a set of cells configured for L1 or L2 mobility and indicating a list of candidate cells for a PCell or PSCell. The UE may then receive L1/L2 signaling from the base station identifying the PCell or indicating activation of the PSCell.

  • Patent number: 11611472
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A first user equipment (UE) may receive, via a communication link between the first UE and a base station, radio resource control (RRC) signaling which configures a relay communication sidelink for communicating message traffic between the first UE and a second UE for relay to the base station. The first UE may receive a control message via layer one (L1) signaling or layer two (L2) signaling which activates the relay communication sidelink configured by the RRC signaling. The first UE may then communicate, via the relay communication sidelink, a message for relay to or from the base station by the first UE or the second UE based on the control message.

  • Patent number: 11601886
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. A user equipment (UE) may monitor a narrowband (e.g., a single carrier, anchor carrier, etc.) for a control message that includes a grant for downlink data transmissions. The narrowband containing the control message may be a portion of a system bandwidth. The UE may then monitor a wideband (e.g., all or multiple carriers of the system bandwidth) for data according to the control message. Monitoring the wideband may include additional or alternate circuitry being powered (e.g., receiver circuit switching) to enable reception on an increased range of frequency spectrum. In some examples, a gap or narrowband data transmission may be scheduled between the control message and the grant to allow grant processing and receiver circuitry switching at the UE. In some cases, the control message and data transmission may be received in the same or different transmission time intervals (TTIs).

  • Patent number: 11601975
Abstract: Wireless communications systems and methods related to performing spatial-specific listen-before-talk (LBT) with discovery signal transmissions for spectrum sharing are provided. A wireless communication device senses a channel in a spatial domain based on a plurality of expected beam transmission directions. The sensing includes sweeping through multiple directional reception beams and listening to the channel in a direction of each of the multiple directional reception beams. After the sensing, the wireless communication device transmits a channel reservation signal using an omnidirectional transmission beam and also transmits a plurality of discovery signals in one or more of the plurality of expected beam transmission directions during a discovery period to facilitate synchronization in the channel based on the sensing.

  • Patent number: 11601976
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. A wireless device (base station or UE) may receive an indication of a listen before talk (LBT) gap for sharing a channel occupancy time (COT), the COT being acquired by another wireless device (base station or UE), and detect whether a slot within the COT is occupied by the other wireless device, the slot occurring prior to the LBT gap. The wireless device may also, responsive to detecting that the slot is occupied by the other wireless device, perform an LBT procedure during the LBT gap, and, responsive to a successful LBT procedure, transmit a signal to the other wireless device within the COT.

  • Patent number: 11595912
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. Generally, the described techniques provide for efficiently performing and reporting reference signal received power (RSRP) measurements. In particular, the techniques described herein may allow a user equipment (UE) to efficiently identify reference signals on which to perform RSRP measurements (e.g., based on signaling from a base station), identify when to report RSRP measurements (e.g., aperiodically, periodically, or semi-persistently), and identify a channel on which to report RSRP measurements (e.g., a sidelink channel or an uplink channel). In addition, the techniques described herein may also allow a UE to efficiently identify open loop parameters to use to determine an appropriate transmit power for transmitting to another UE over a sidelink.
