  • Patent number: 11118857
Abstract: A spin-stabilizing assembly is usable with a cylindrical barrel having a longitudinal center axis, a vertical center axis, and a distal end. The assembly includes a gimbal piece, a spinner cage, and a spinner body. A first end of the gimbal piece engages an outer diameter surface of the barrel proximate the distal end. The spinner cage is configured to engage a second end of the gimbal piece, and to pivot with respect thereto about the vertical center axis. The spinner body is disposed radially within the spinner cage and defines multiple axial vanes. The vanes, in response to impingement on the axial vanes of exhaust gases discharged from the distal end of the barrel, rotate the spinner body about the longitudinal center axis. Rotation results in impedance along the vertical center axis which minimizes vertical displacement or motion of the distal end.

  • Publication number: 20210054550
Abstract: A package has walls formed of a weldable spun-bonded nonwoven and having welded wall regions. The spun-bonded nonwoven has continuous filaments of a thermoplastic plastic each with a thermoplastic core surrounded by a thermoplastic sheath. The sheaths of the continuous multicomponent filaments of both components contain at least 3 wt % of at least one filler so that weldability of the spun-bonded nonwoven is improved by reducing a welding temperature in thermal welding of the spun-bonded nonwoven. A first plastic component forming the sheaths of the multicomponent filaments has the same or a lower melting point than a second plastic component forming the cores of the filaments.

  • Patent number: 10808141
Abstract: The present invention encompasses a novel soil-repellent reactive resin seal for markings or coating of areas of ground or trafficways, for example roads, based on cold plastic. Compared to established prior art systems, this sealing leads to reduced adhesion of soil, especially in hot and/or dry, dusty environments. Thus, the marking retains better visibility than conventional markings, even in dry, hot regions. Otherwise, the marking sealed in accordance with the invention has comparable mechanical properties to the prior art.

  • Patent number: 9982367
Abstract: A method of making a spun-bond nonwoven fabric of thermoplastic filaments has the steps of first spinning the thermoplastic filaments, then cooling the spun filaments, and then conducting the cooled and spun filaments in a travel direction through a stretcher with primary air such that the primary air exits a downstream end of the stretcher with the filaments at a predetermined primary air volume/flow VP. The filaments and substantially all of the primary air are passed together as a flow from the downstream end of the stretcher into a diffuser. Secondary air is introduced into the flow at a secondary air volume/flow VS such that a ratio VP/VS of the primary rate VP to the secondary rate is equal to at least 4.5 and the primary and secondary air flow with the filaments in the travel direction through the diffuser.

  • Patent number: 9951698
Abstract: A method of estimating a boost pressure of a turbocharger is disclosed. A throttle body temperature is estimated as a function of engine operating parameters. An intake air mass flow and an exhaust mass flow are estimated as a function of the throttle body temperature. A turbine inlet pressure and a turbine outlet pressure are estimated as a function of engine operating parameters. A turbine speed is estimated as a function of the intake air mass flow, exhaust mass flow and turbine inlet and outlet pressure. The boost pressure is estimated as a function of the turbine speed. Estimation of the maximum boost pressure of a turbocharged internal combustion engine is performed method cyclically as follows: estimating a throttle temperature, estimating an air mass flow and an exhaust mass flow, estimating a turbine inlet pressure and a turbine outlet pressure, estimating a turbine speed, and estimating the maximum boost pressure.

  • Patent number: 9951448
Abstract: An apparatus for the continuous manufacture of a spunbond web from aerodynamically stretched thermoplastic filaments has at least one spinneret, a cooling chamber for cooling the filaments, a stretcher, and a deposition device for the deposition of the filaments to form the spunbond web. At least one filament guide having a plurality of filament-guide gaps opens toward the stretcher between the stretcher and the deposition device, and the filament guide or at least one guide part of the filament guide can be moved such that the filament-guide gap or the stretcher-side openings thereof are displaced transversely to the travel direction of the spunbond web. Thus the filaments or filament bundles guided along or through the filament-guide gap are given a transverse orientation to the travel direction of the spunbond web when deposited onto the deposition device.

  • Patent number: 9862788
Abstract: The present invention relates to an innovative (meth)acrylic reactive resin which cures with low odor or odorlessly. The present invention relates more particularly to reactive resins comprising high-boiling, reactive (meth)acrylic monomers from the group of the polar, cyclically substituted esters of (meth)acrylic acid, more particularly glycerol acetal, ketal or carbonate methacrylates. These new components are used as substitutes for MMA, which represents the major part of the odor nuisance in the existing, prior-art reactive resin systems. Using these new components it is possible to obtain resin formulations which have glass transition temperatures similar to, and properties comparable with, MMA-based resins. The innovative reactive resins are able in addition to exhibit more rapid curing than prior-art MMA-based systems. Reactive resins for the purposes of the invention are reactive monomer mixtures or mixtures of monomers and polymers that when used as a 2-component system can be readily cured.
