  • Publication number: 20140067835
Abstract: A search extensibility application framework enables a hosted web search experience to be extended so that apps which are related to a search query can be presented to a user of a client computing device such as a smartphone. In various illustrative examples, a hosted search app is implemented using HTML5 code generated at a remote search provider server. Responsively to a user query at the search app's user interface (“UI”), the server returns an HTML5 payload including meta tags specifying criteria including app extension categories, actions, and known apps that support search terms in the query. Apps that are installed on the client device which match the criteria can then be displayed and launched through the UI to advantageously enable the users to complete a task specific search. JavaScript interfaces are provided to enable apps to update their install state and to be injected into the hosted search app.

  • Publication number: 20140047067
Abstract: A method and apparatus for shortcut sets to data sources, such as web sites, is disclosed. The shortcut sets may be associated with a controlled environment. A controlled environment might be a home, corporation, business, etc. As an example, an information technology (IT) manager configures shortcuts for the employees of the company. As another example, a family member configures shortcuts that are common to all family members, when at home. A user may enter a shortcut into a search box of a web browser to be directed to a data source. If the shortcut indicates a search at the data source is desired, then a search is automatically performed at the data source.

  • Patent number: 8649195
Abstract: Systems and methods for controlling a modular three-phase converter including two or more interleaved, parallel connected Voltage Source Converters (VSCs) utilizing a hybrid Space Vector Pulse Width Modulation (SVM) control scheme are provided. For the hybrid SVM control scheme, six active vectors utilized for SVM define six sectors in a space vector plane. Each sector is divided into two or more regions having corresponding optimal SVM switching sequences. In operation, a revolving reference voltage vector is sampled to provide a reference voltage vector. The SVM controller then identifies one of the regions in one of the sectors that corresponds to an angle and, in some embodiments, a magnitude of the revolving reference voltage vector and applies the corresponding optimal SVM switching sequence to the two or more interleaved, parallel connected VSCs.

  • Publication number: 20140036602
Abstract: A memory device that accurately tracks memory operations includes a vertical loopback for tracking a sense clock signal to a row address decoder, and read and write reference bit lines in a reference column that include loopbacks for vertically tracking a selected bit line during read and write operations. Preferably the widths of word lines and a sense line are equal to enable the sense line to horizontally track any selected word line. The memory device also includes tri-state input/output (I/O) latches to latch sense amplifier outputs. A drive circuit of the tri-state I/O latch is disabled when the output is available at the corresponding sense amplifier and enabled when the output is latched by the latch circuit.

  • Publication number: 20140040226
Abstract: Applications (“apps”), through which a service may be accessed, may be identified to a user, along with a preview of the app. In one example, a user performs a search for a service. The search engine may return the web site through which the service is provided, and/or the app associated with that service. Preview content that describes the app may also be provided. The content may be variable, and may be filled in based on contextual information such as a search query string or user information. If the app is installed, then clicking, tapping, or otherwise activating the app may launch the app, possibly with context information being provided to the app. If the app is not installed, then a link to obtain the app may be provided.

  • Patent number: 8643525
Abstract: A system and method dynamically selects digital-to-analog (DAC) circuit elements to provide a True differential-output delta-sigma (??) DAC. The sign and magnitude of a received N-bit input code is determined. If the input code comprises a positive value, m+r circuit elements are selected from a plurality of circuit elements by a positive element selector, in which comprises a number of rotational elements, and r circuit elements are selected by a negative element selector. Each selected circuit element comprises a circuit element that was not selected for an immediately preceding received input code and has a corresponding minimum usage count value. If the input digital code comprises a negative value, m+r circuit elements are selected by the negative element selector, and r circuit elements are selected by the positive element selector. • Publication number: 20140020558
Abstract: An apparatus and method remove particulate matter from a gas. The apparatus has an inlet for receiving a contaminated gas having particulate matter, and for inducing a swirl to the contaminated gas. A cyclonic separation stage including a first flow-path is provided for separating a portion of the particulate matter from the swirl-induced contaminated gas by centrifugal action, to produce a partially clean gas. An ionization stage including a second flow-path is provided for ionizing the particulate matter remaining in the partially clean gas by producing a corona discharge in the second flow-path. A particle collection stage including a third flow-path is provided for separating the ionized particulate matter from the gas using an electric field across the third flow-path, to produce a clean gas. The ionization stage and the particle collection stage are arranged such that the third flow-path has an increased cross-sectional area relative to the second flow-path.
