  • Patent number: 9724042
Abstract: A wearable health monitoring device includes one or more sensors for sampling biometric parameters of various physiological conditions of the wearer. The device is powered by a variable energy source that has an energy level that changes during operation. A rechargeable battery loses charge as it powers the device. A solar cell or cells can be used to recharge, or maintain charge of the rechargeable battery, or at least provide a supplemental power source to relieve the burden on the rechargeable battery to power the device. In some circumstances, the available energy can become diminished, and the device adjusts the rate at which it performs biometric measurements in order to conserve energy.

  • Patent number: 9674433
Abstract: A calibration method can begin by positioning a calibration image source around and substantially proximate to the exterior surface of a panoramic optical device that utilizes a conical quadric reflector having an aperture in its apex. The calibration image source can be made of a material that is substantially transparent to allow the passage of environmental light and can utilize a predetermined color palette having a calibration feature, such as a geometric shape and/or a line, which is in a known location. A quadric image of the calibration image source can then be captured. Coordinates for a visual image center of the calibration image can be determined by an image center calibration program using the location of the calibration feature. The visual image center can be the point around which a quadric image is transformed into a visually-correct panorama. The determined visual image center coordinates can be stored.

  • Publication number: 20170090468
Abstract: In a method for error detection and monitoring an electronically closed-loop or open-loop controlled machine part, operating parameters and monitoring parameters of machine parts are recorded and stored. A comparison group of comparable machine parts and comparable operating parameters is determined based on the recorded and stored operating parameters and a machine part to be compared. A statistical analysis procedure is used for creating a threshold value based on the determined comparison group, and for detecting a variance of at least one state or at least one of the monitoring parameters based on the threshold value. The variance is assigned to the machine part.

  • Publication number: 20170093810
Abstract: A system for the transmission of data relating to an object includes a local computing unit assigned to the object, said local computing unit including data memory, an evaluation unit and an application. The application causes the evaluation unit to store data relating to the object in the data memory. A software agent collects the data relating to the object stored in the data memory and transmits it to an external computing unit via a data connection. The software agent has a classification module that classifies the data relating to the object into sensitive data and non-sensitive data. The sensitive data is transmitted to the external computing unit using an encryption algorithm, and the non-sensitive data is transmitted to the external computing unit unencrypted.

Abstract: A system for controlling and/or analyzing an industrial process having an on-site automation unit of a system operator, wherein the on-site automation unit performs a first process variable calculation and influences the industrial process. An off-site processing unit of a service operator different from the system operator is provided, wherein the off-site processing unit has an application and carries out a second process variable calculation and influences the industrial process directly or indirectly via the second process variable calculation. Local data is received by the off-site processing unit from the on-site automation unit via a data link. The off-site processing unit stores the local data in a primary storage. A revision module belonging to the off-site processing unit is provided wherein the revision module logs access to the primary storage by the application.

  • Patent number: 9542816
Abstract: A wearable alert device includes an audio transducer and driver circuit that allows selection of either a high or low volume setting for driving the transducer. The driver circuit is operable in a single ended mode for low volume and a double ended mode for high volume. The single ended mode holds one terminal of the transducer low while the other is driven in correspondence with a clock signal, while the double ended mode drives one terminal in correspondence with the clock signal and the other terminal is inverted from the clock signal. The transducer is activated in response to an alert event, and can be driven according to a profile or pattern.

  • Publication number: 20160357175
Abstract: A system for control and/or analytics of an industrial process, includes at least one plant-side automation unit, and at least one external processing unit. The automation unit receives process input variables, determines results of a first process control algorithm based on the process input variables within a defined period of time and sends the process input variables to the processing unit. The processing unit executes a second process control algorithm on the basis of the process input variables and the local automation unit receives the results of the second process control algorithm. The plant-side automation unit checks whether the results of the second process control algorithm were received within a time less than or equal to the defined time period. The plant-side automation unit applies the results of the second process control algorithm to the process, when the results were received within a time less than or equal to the defined time period.
