Abstract: Some embodiments of the invention provide a communication system that includes a first communication network, a second communication network, and a core network. The second communication network includes a network controller and a group of two or more access areas that are communicatively coupled to the core network by the network controller. Some embodiments service the second network access areas by providing access area identifiers to each access area while communicating with the first network or core network using a single are identifier assigned to the network controller. Some embodiments provide access control by sending a series of invalid messages to a user equipment (UE) that is not authorized to access services of the second network to reject the UE. Some embodiments reject the UE by sending a message to ban a UE from an access area with a particular access area identifier.

  • Patent number: 7415461
Abstract: A device and a method are provided. Approximate match operations are performed for each of a group of attributes for each of a group of tuples with respect to a query to create a respective ranking for each of the group of attributes. The rankings of the group of attributes are combined to provide a ranking score for each of the group of tuples. Data representing a ranking score of each of the group of tuples is generated according to a position of a respective ranking of each one of the group of tuples for a first k positions of the ranking. K of top ranked ones of the group of tuples are identified based at least in part on the generated data, wherein a number of the group of tuples is n and k<n.

  • Patent number: 7415466
Abstract: A method and system for recovering after a crash of an instance in a database is disclosed. According to the method, a plurality of dead transactions associated with the crashed instance are identified. Statistical data is compiled from the identified plurality of dead transactions. Based on the statistical data, it is determined that a particular number of recovery servers should be used to recover the plurality of dead transactions. The plurality of dead transactions are then recovered using the particular number of recovery servers. The particular number of recovery servers can execute in parallel to recover the plurality of dead transactions.

  • Publication number: 20080193941
Abstract: Novel markers for cardiac disease that are both sensitive and accurate. These markers are differentially and/or specifically expressed in cardiac tissue, as opposed to other types of tissues, optionally and preferably including muscle tissue. The measurement of these markers, alone or in combination, in patient samples provides information that the diagnostician can correlate with a probable diagnosis of cardiac disease, including pathology and/or damage, including acute and/or chronic damage. The markers of the present invention, alone or in combination, show a high degree of differential detection between cardiac disease states and non-cardiac disease states.

  • Publication number: 20080192544
Abstract: During programming of memory cells, calculating sigma bits for cells programmed at each program level based on attributes of the cells, such an index representing a cell's bit location in the memory array. For example, summing the indexes with an increasing weight factor, such as factor-of-2. During read, new sigma bits are calculated and compared with the stored sigma bits. A difference between the new sigma bits and the stored sigma bits may define a unique combination of indexes, enabling searching for, finding and correcting the read errors. The sigma bits may be used to correctly identify which cells were programmed at which program level, despite threshold voltage drift and/or overlap. Programming may be performed with advertent overlapping distributions, and the bits can be sorted out.
