    Abstract: Systems and methods include calibrating physical parameters of acoustic data using a deterministic model related to hardware configurations that generated the acoustic data to provide an intermediate layer of data. The intermediate layer of data is then calibrated using environmental factors related to the acoustic data by employing machine learning to provide a multichannel data output. A loss is optimized between the multichannel data output and multichannel distributed-optic fiber sensing (DFOS) data to train a hybrid transfer model to translate between DFOS data and acoustic data.

    Abstract: A method for switching audio reception in a video conference and a video conferencing system are provided. In a case of starting the video conference, relative positions of participants in a conference space and behavioral events of participants are obtained by identifying a video signal. Based on the behavioral event of each participant, whether each participant is in a non-speaking behavior is determined. When a participant is determined to be a non-speaker in the non-speaking behavior, an audio reception range of an audio reception device is adjusted to filter a voice of the non-speaker based on the relative position of the non-speaker in the conference space. When a participant is determined to be a speaker not in the non-speaking behavior, the audio reception range of the audio reception device is adjusted to receive a voice of the speaker based on the relative position of the speaker in the conference space.

    Abstract: A novel prophylactic therapy for cancer, as well as therapy against DNA damage, inflammation and immunosuppression involves the ?-blocker carvedilol, which is a racemic mixture consisting of two enantiomers, S- and R-carvedilol, in 1:1 ratio. S-carvedilol is a ?-blocker, with a highly potent antagonizing activity against the ?-adrenergic receptors, which is the main mechanism for the drug's pharmacological activity in treatment of high blood pressure and heart failure. Carvedilol—the racemic mixture—prevents ultraviolet radiation induced skin cancer by attenuating DNA damage, reducing inflammation and reversing immunosuppression. The non-?-blocking enantiomer R-carvedilol exhibits the same cancer preventive efficacy as the racemic carvedilol, without disturbing the cardiovascular system. Both carvedilol and R-carvedilol prevent chemical carcinogen-induced lung cancer development and lung inflammation.

In the present invention, by testing a piezoelectric coefficient of a poled sample, the poling condition of the sample can be judged nondestructively, and the region of uniform poling can be screened out.     Abstract: Within many applications impulse radio based ultra-wideband (IR-UWB) transmission offers significant benefits for very short range high data rate communications when compared with existing standards and protocols. In many of these applications the main design goals are very low power consumption and very low complexity design for easy integration and cost reduction. Digitally programmable IR-UWB transmitters using an on-off keying modulation scheme on a 0.13 microns CMOS process operating on 1.2V supply and yielding power consumption as low as 0.9 mW at a 10 Mbps data rate with dynamic power control are enabled. The IR-UWB transmitters support new frequency hopping techniques providing more efficient spectrum usage and dynamic allocation of the spectrum when transmitting in highly congested frequency bands. Biphasic scrambling is also introduced for spectral line reduction.
