  • Publication number: 20160022316
Abstract: A growth rod distraction system a domino having first and second bores provided therein. First and second spinal rods are respectively disposed within the first and second bores for movement relative to the domino First and second spur gears are disposed within the domino and respectively cooperate with the first and second growth rods such that rotation of the spur gears causes axial movements of the growth rods relative to the domino The spinal rods may be formed either from a flexible polymer material (such as a PEEK, carbon fiber PEEK, PEAK, or similar medical grade polymer material) or a hybrid combination of such flexible polymer material and a metallic material (such as nitinol or similar medical grade metallic material). The spinal rods can also be used for fusion or non-fusion surgery of the spine to stabilize two or more vertebrae.

  • Publication number: 20160022185
Abstract: A biosensor device for the real-time detection of a target analyte includes a receptor component operatively connected to a transducer component which is adapted to interpret and transmit a detectable signal. The receptor component includes a sensing element capable of detecting and binding to at least one target analyte, and a self-assembled monolayer (SAM) layer. The SAM layer is positioned between and in contact with the sensing element and an electrode such that the sensing element, in the presence of the target analyte, causes a detectable signal capable of being transmitted to the electrode. The transducer component includes the electrode and microprocessor configured to screen noise and to pick up impedance change at a very low frequency range.

  • Publication number: 20160014009
Abstract: A computing system may comprise a processor and a memory having a routing program, the processor being configured to receive a first request having a data record with a unique subscriber identifier, extract the unique subscriber identifier from the first request, and compare a tag of a database table with the unique subscriber identifier. If the tag does not match the unique subscriber identifier, the processor may be configured to process the first request as part of a general test environment. If the tag matches the unique subscriber identifier, the processor may be configured to route the first request to a live test environment associated with the tag.

  • Patent number: 9055324
Abstract: A method and an apparatus for achieving fast resynchronization of received signals in a time slice in DVB-T/H systems. When the clock drift is low, the location of the symbol window can be decided based on a previous time slice. When the clock drift is high and when there are large delay spreads, the location of the symbol window can be decided based on the detected scattered pilot positions. The placement of the symbol window can further be enhanced through processing of the received TPS bits.

At least one of the mobile devices includes a camera to capture a video of a participant in the videoconference. The video is transmitted to the videoconferencing server on the cellular network. The videoconferencing server edits the video and sends the edited video to receiving mobile devices in real-time. The receiving mobile devices output the video as a projection by using an internal mobile projector or transmit the video to an external display device. A sending mobile device may also act as a receiving mobile device, such that each of the participants may view video of other participants in his/her own background/environment while communicating with the other participants.

  • Publication number: 20150012040
Abstract: This invention relates to an improved structure for an interspinous stabilization device that more evenly distributes loads throughout the adjacent vertebrae than known interspinous stabilization devices, and further readily compensates for graft settling so as to maintain continued axial loading of the graft. More specifically, this invention relates to a medical device that helps in performing a spinal fusion procedure by holding the bone graft in place and stabilizing the facet screw by a plate that is attached to it. The invention also performs a dynamic function that compensates for settling of the bone graft over time. This dynamic function may, if desired, be enhanced by a movement-limiting mechanism that allows extension but not flexion such that the bone graft fusion remains in contact and fusion takes place.

  • Patent number: 8914022
Abstract: The present Broadband Link System supplements the existing Air-To-Ground Radio Frequency communications link with an additional, separate high speed Broadband Ground-To-Air Data Channel to provide additional data communication capacity for aircraft. This Broadband Ground-To-Air Data Channel is typically a uni-directional (Ground-To-Air) link directed via a focused beam to selected aircraft which are operational in the coverage area of the Broadband Ground-To-Air Data Channel. The routing of the various data transmissions on both the Air-To-Ground Radio Frequency communications link and the Broadband Ground-To-Air Data Channel are managed in a unified manner to maximize the utilization of the two transmission facilities.

  • Publication number: 20140313079
Abstract: A system and method for improving acquisition sensitivity and tracking performance of a GPS receiver using multiple antennas is provided. In an embodiment, the acquisition sensitivity can be improved by determining the correlation weight of each received path signal path associated with one antenna form a plurality of antennas and then combining the path signals based on their respective correlation weight. In another embodiment, carrier offset correction information of each path signal is individually determined and then summed together to be used for tracking the code phase in a code phase tracking loop. The code phase tracking loop generates an early code and a late code that are used to determine the code phase error. The system includes notch and bandpass filters to mitigate narrowband and broadband noises of a received GPS signal, wherein the digital adaptive filters are switched on periodically or by external events.
