  • Publication number: 20150077024
Abstract: A drive system includes a line assembly configured to connect a power converter to an electric motor which has a brake and an encoder. The line assembly has at least two power lines and only two brake lines exclusively to provide a data transfer between the power converter and the electric motor and to transfer energy to the encoder. The power converter applies a first supply voltage of a first polarity and a second supply voltage of a second polarity opposite to the first polarity to the brake lines for supplying the brake and the encoder. The electric motor supplies the encoder with the respective supply voltage independently of its polarity and the brake with the respective supply voltage depending on its polarity.

  • Publication number: 20120046872
Abstract: Disclosed herein is a method and an arrangement for the control of measuring systems such as a mass spectrometer or nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) instrument, the control being based on an online data analysis of the current measurements. Depending on the measurement experiment, the combined result of the data analysis can have either a direct influence on the next measurement or result in a dynamically organized sequence of measurements. The measuring systems may be controlled by establishing a database that comprises information on the objects to be measured, the measurement data which can be detected during the measurement experiments using the measuring systems, and information regarding the relationships between or among items of the measurement data.

  • Patent number: 7613592
Abstract: There is described a two-channel method for determining at least one output signal from variable input signals sent by a transmitter, using two independent channels and consisting in alternately guiding the input signals to said channels, wherein a multiplexer is used for switching said channels. A microprocessor contained in said channels delivers input test signals transmitted to the channel not currently receiving any variable input signal. Said channel transmits output signals compared with an expected value in order to verify the channel correct operation. Simultaneously, the other channel produces an output signal. Afterwards, the multiplexer switches a control signal.

  • Publication number: 20080190166
Abstract: In one aspect a device to simplify, and to reduce the costs of, the error-protected detection of the measured values in the control unit, without reducing the error protection of the system is provided. The device includes a pick-up device for detecting measuring signals. Independently operating evaluation devices are provided for the redundant determination of measured values from the measuring signals of the pick-up device. The data is transmitted to the control unit by means of error-protected transmission devices. A first evaluation device is used to determine a measured value, and a second evaluation device is used to determine a less precise, coarse comparison value. The device is also used to establish the accuracy of the measured value by comparing the value with the comparison value.

  • Patent number: 6600984
Abstract: Like in a conventional crash detection algorithm, a crash is detected if a threshold value of an acceleration or an integrated acceleration is exceeded. Various characteristic values for characterizing the sensor signal paths are collected and supplied to the neural network. Said neural network returns the characteristic values for the seriousness of the crash, thereby facilitating the various retention systems to reaction individually. The invention provides a method for reliably, simply and quickly making statements regarding the seriousness and the course of a motor vehicle crash and for controlling occupant protection systems according to demand.

  • Patent number: 6396398
Abstract: For the safe evaluation of sensor signals, singular further processing is permitted by producing a redundancy signal in accordance with a prescribed algorithm when the sensor signals are actually generated. The redundant single-channel nature is made possible by virtue of safety-conforming data processing and data transmission being carried out on a single channel by virtue of a downstream processing device deriving dual-channel signals therefrom, by reversing the algorithm, and testing them for plausibility by reciprocal result comparison.
