  • Publication number: 20160324529
Abstract: A cutting block comprises a body having a top surface for guiding a saw blade, and a top plate connected to the body. The top plate can move between a first position in which the top plate is spaced apart from the body and a second position in which the top surface of the top plate is an extension of the top surface of the body. The top plate has first and second resiliently deformable arms extending from it, spaced apart along the top plate, and the body has first and second recesses formed in it extending substantially perpendicularly to the top surface of the body. The first and second arms on the top plate are inserted in the recesses so that the arms and the recesses define the path for movement of the top plate relative to the body between the first and second position.

  • Publication number: 20160228262
Abstract: An instrument (102) for positioning a cup component (104) of an orthopaedic joint prosthesis is described. The instrument includes an actuator (124) and a plurality of jaw members (152, 154, 156, 158) around a longitudinal axis. Each jaw member includes a mounting end (162), a gripping end (166) and a surface (174) between them. The gripping end has a transversely extending member (168) which can be received in a recess in a wall of a cup component and can displaced between a retracted position and a deployed position. The surface is inclined to the longitudinal axis of the instrument and curved in an outward direction away from the longitudinal axis. The actuator and the plurality of jaw members are capable of relative movement along the longitudinal axis of the instrument with the actuator in contact with the inclined surfaces of the jaw members so that said relative movement causes the jaw members to move between their retracted position and deployed position.

  • Publication number: 20160126070
Abstract: Methods for controlling bevel etch rate of a substrate during plasma processing within a processing chamber includes securing the substrate on a lower electrode within the processing chamber. A power source is provided. A gas mixture is flowed into the processing chamber. A first match arrangement coupled to an upper electrode is adjusted to control current flowing through the upper electrode to change the upper electrode from a grounded state to a floating state. A second match arrangement coupled to a top ring electrode is adjusted to control current flowing through the top ring electrode so as to control plasma formed above a top edge of the substrate. An extension of the upper electrode is lowered during plasma processing so as to minimize a gap between the extension of the upper electrode and the substrate received on the lower electrode, such that the gap is incapable of supporting plasma formed in the processing chamber.
