  • Patent number: 10438186
Abstract: A system for communicating the status of a produce product in a retail store is described. The system includes a produce weigh station and a produce status station. The produce weigh station includes a produce scale and a camera. The produce weigh station uses a captured digital image of the produce product to determine a product type of the produce product being weighed, as well as a product status of the produce product. The produce status can include, for example, whether the produce product is ripe, over-ripe, or under-ripe. The produce weigh station communicates the type of the produce product, the digital image, and the produce status to the produce status station. An employee of the retail store can use the produce status station to receive the produce status information without the employee having to be present in the produce sales department.

  • Patent number: 10346049
Abstract: Systems and techniques for network on a chip based computer architectures and distributing data without shared pointers therein are described. A described system includes computing resources; and a memory resource configured to maintain a dedicated memory region of the memory resource for distributed read operations requested by the computing resources. The computing resources can generate a packet to fetch data from the dedicated memory region without using memory addresses of respective data elements. The memory resource can receive the first packet, determine whether the first packet indicates the distributed read operation, and determine that the dedicated memory region is non-empty. Further, the memory resource can fetch one or more data elements from the dedicated memory region based on the first packet indicating the distributed read operation and the dedicated memory region being non-empty, and send a packet that includes the one or more fetched data elements.

  • Publication number: 20190026753
Abstract: Exemplary embodiments for detecting product tampering include a processor in communication with a reader. A communication device, including a memory, an electronic circuit, and an antenna coupled to the electronic circuit, is coupled to a seal on product packaging. The electronic circuit is on a first portion of the seal and the antenna is on a second portion of the seal. The reader is configured to scan for a signal from the communication device. The processor is configured to detect tampering with the seal based on a lack of signal to the reader from the communication device. Tampering with the seal causes the antenna to disconnect from the electronic circuit rendering the communication device unreadable by the reader. The communication device is configured to write data in response to the antenna being disconnected from the electronic circuit. The processor is configured to read the tampering data in the memory.

  • Patent number: 10176023
Abstract: A system, method, and computer program product are provided for implementing a protocol stack for handling memory access requests associated with one or more block devices. The method includes the steps of allocating a thread to process a task associated with a memory access request for a block device; and executing the thread to process the task, wherein the thread implements a state machine that manages calls to two or more layers of the protocol stack. A task dispatcher is implemented for managing the execution of tasks using at least one thread pool, the tasks managing the calls to the various layers of the protocol stack. The protocol stack may implement abstraction layers for virtual storage devices as well as the real block devices.

  • Publication number: 20180337970
Abstract: This invention concerns the transmitting and receiving of digital media packets, such as audio and video channels and lighting instructions. The network (104) is comprised of at least a transmitter device (110) and a receiving device (112). The controllers (122) and (126) of these devices handle the exchanging of configuration messages between the devices (110) and (112). Using the invention, the user is not required to manually configure the processor to receive media packet streams. Instead, a controller (126) of a receiving device (112) operates to receive information on a user selection of media channels and automatically configure the processor of the transmitter device. Further, the receiving device (112) is able to receive media channels using both unicast and multicast protocols. Media channels can be given textual labels which are unique on the unique (104) and easily identify to the user the actual source of the media channel.

  • Publication number: 20180295513
Abstract: Exemplary embodiments provide an authentication system for granting access to an access point. The system includes a Near-Field-Communication (NFC) tag, a NFC reader and writer, and an access point coupled to the NFC reader and writer. The NFC reader and writer is configured to read the NFC tag when the access point is activated and the NFC tag is within range of the NFC reader and writer. In a first phase of authentication, the NFC reader and writer is configured to read and analyze data stored in the memory of the NFC tag to authenticate access to the access point. In a second phase of authentication, the access point is configured to receive and analyze a user input, and grant access to the access point based on analyze of the user input and success at the first phase of authentication.

  • Patent number: 10027583
Abstract: Systems and techniques for network on a chip based computer architectures and communications therein are described. A described technique includes generating, at a first computing resource of a computer system, a chained packet sequence. A packet therein can specify a chain indicator to indicate inclusion in the chained packet sequence, a destination address, and an opcode. The technique includes routing the sequence to a second computing resource based on the destination address of a first chained packet in the sequence. The technique includes receiving the sequence at the second computing resource; performing the operation specified by the opcode of the first chained packet; and determining whether to process or forward one or more chained packets in a remainder portion of the sequence based on the destination address of a second chained packet of the sequence, the second chained packet being located at a beginning of the remainder portion.

  • Publication number: 20180146017
Abstract: This invention concerns the transmitting and receiving of digital media packets, such as audio and video channels and lighting instructions. In particular, the invention concerns the transmitting and receiving of redundant media packet streams. Samples are extracted from a first and second media packet stream. The extracted samples are written to a buffer based on the output time of each sample. Extracted samples having the same output time are written to the same location in the buffer. Both media packet streams are simply processed all the way to the buffer without any particular knowledge that one of the packet streams is actually redundant. This simplifies the management of the redundant packet streams, such as eliminating the need for a “fail-over” switch and the concept of an “active stream”, The location is the storage space allocated to store one sample.
